They were craving pho so a quick Google led me here. Worth the walk. Come ahead of the lunch rush because this place filled up quick shortly after 12pm. Fish banh mi - the bread blew me away. It literally makes the entire sandwich. A gentle squeeze of the bread and you can hear that delightful crunch. Bread interior was soft. You wont cut the hell out of your mouth with this. Great flavors and love the generosity of the cilantro. One of the better viet sandwiches I've had. Grilled chicken over rice with spring roll - great and plenty of chicken. Theirs is thinly sliced and grilled well with lots of flavor. More rice than I need but good shareable if you have other meats. Waiter offered to have the spring rolls into the same number of guests we had so we could all try one. Little things like that will have customers like me coming back. Pho - can't dine in without ordering the classic noodle soup. It's a huge bowl with lots of meat and noodles. Great sharing size for younger kids. Love that the waiter knew we were sharing, and without having to ask, he brought extra small soup bowls and spoons. Rainbow ice - classic dessert, cant go wrong. Husband ordered this first so the ice can melt. It is more enjoyable when it melts and easier to mix. Customer friendly. Attention to detail. Very Cute little Restaurant on 72nd Street. They decorated the restaurant with straw hat on the wall. Staff extremely nice and organized. We walked in to this little Pho Shop as only clients. With in 20mins the place filled up. Food was delicious! Portion was hefty to me. We started with the Crispy Shrimp spring rolls. Cooked to perfection. Crispy and Hot. Dipping sauce was on point. Then ordered the Vegetarian Pho. Enough for 2 people. Very tasty and flavorful. Grilled Pork Chop is a staple at any Vietnamese restaurant. Not dry. Seasoned very well and had to pack half to go home. Since we were so full. We ordered a Banh Flan to go. It was smooth and sweet. Came here because I was specifically looking for vegetarian/vegan pho, and they had one on their menu. The broth was flavorful and it came with so many large pieces of many different vegetables, a number of pieces of soy "meat", and lots of noodles. I also asked for extra tofu since I needed some extra protein that day, so that was an additional $3 (very worth it). I tried very hard to finish my whole bowl, but it defeated me. I didn't need a lot of help looking at the menu but the servers seem to be friendly and helpful if you do have questions. They checked on me a couple times while I was eating to see if I needed anything. (My other go-to dish at Vietnamese restaurants is the vermicelli noodle plate, and it looks like they had a vegetable & tofu option for them, so I could get that next time. I appreciate that they have a good number of vegetarian options.) I came on a Sunday evening and it was about half full, and they seemed to have a lot of take-out orders as well. I ordered takeout here the other day and generally enjoyed my meal. The lemongrass chicken here looked suspiciously like a sweet and sour chicken, but was a solid 7 out of 10, which the pork chops were amazing with lots of flavor. The portion sizes here were definitely sufficient for the $20 avg cost, and would be several meals worth. Altogether I'd definitely come back! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I love phở more than any other soup. I live on a mountain in Costa Rica, where it is hard to get authentic phở, so I ocassionaly try to make it for myself -- with middling results. I think I found the best phở in Maine in the town of Brunswick. But the phở I had the other day a Phở Shop is the best I've had in New York City in a long, log time. I got it takeout -- usually a terrible way to experience it! But when I got it back to my friends' house to eat it, it was stupendous. First of all, their house phở has tendon and tripe, which I think are essential. That wouldn't clinch the deal if the broth weren't also rich and deeply flavorful -- which it was. The meat was fresh and tender. The meatballs were delightful. I get phở an average of 1.5x a week when I'm in the US. I'm going back up there tomorrow to get more of theirs. Suberb! read more

Pretty spacious place that wasn't super packed around lunch time so we were able to get seated. However, because of that I was expected much better service but we had to flag down our server multiple times and it maybe took us 15 minutes from being seated until someone came and asked for our order. I ordered the Vermicelli with grilled chicken and spring rolls ($17) - it was good but still fairly average as a whole. The chicken was slightly burned at parts but generally pretty tender. The noodles were very ordinary. The spring rolls were okay but slightly mushy on the inside. On the bright side, the portion size was very large, so that made the bowl a good value for the price. I tried the Pho Shop pho ($17) as well, which was a fairly average bowl of pho with beef brisket and meatballs. It was a decently sized bowl though. The staff are pretty friendly and the service speed is fast. The place has some nice chill vibes with a clean environment. There was ample seating available when we went on a Sunday night. I've been to this shop twice now, and was underwhelmed by one out of the 2 visits. - Trip 1: Grilled chicken bun bowl. - Trip 2: Pho Ga (chicken in a chicken broth) and iced coffee The grilled chicken bun bowl (vermicelli noodles with veggies and meat, and a spring roll) was pretty good. Good chicken, plenty of veggies, would order again. I just went for lunch again today and decided to try the pho ga because I love pho ga, it was freezing out and it was the same price as the bun bowl and I wanted to try something new. The lunch price was $15, on the higher end of what I'm willing to pay for lunch. It was a large bowl, good portion, but I was disappointed in the chicken and broth. I'll admit, I get it without onions and cilantro, I get it plain. But this is how I get pho ga anytime I ever order it, and I've ordered it many places, and this was bland in comparison. And the chicken texture was weird (wonder if they would let you sub for grilled chicken, it would probably cost extra). Another reason for my lowish rating is the service. There was often no one up front, so guests would seat themselves and delivery guys would be waiting for awhile. It was hard to get someone's attention. I asked for an iced coffee and didn't get it, so I had to ask a waiter halfway through the meal for it. I got it then (tasty), but saw that the original waiter hadn't put it on the check so clearly had never put it in the system. I did the right thing and told them they forgot to add the coffee, and I got no response, they just added the coffee to the bill. Normally if I notice something's been left off the bill and point that out I'll at least get a "thanks". I'll probably come back for the bun bowl, but disappointed the pho wasn't better. read more

For some time now, this pho place is our dinner destination post yoga session. The place is never too full that we don't have to wait to be seated. Our go to items are the spicy pho, pho king or the pho with grilled meat on the side. The restaurant is spacious. Food comes out the kitchen really quick. After looking at the menu, I decided to go for the noodles with everything ( fried roll , grilled porkchop and. Shrimp ) and original bahn mi for takeout . While it was good , the roll didn't taste as fresh, a bit disappointing but the porkchop was solid. The serving js really good for two people and maybe order an other small dish ) small pho ). The service is always good and I like how they always try to accommodate ( in the most efficient way ). I have been coming here for years, even before Covid. Recently I was in the area and decided to stop by to get lunch to go. They open at 11am, but no one was there to take an order. The staff didn't arrive until 11:10 and then they weren't ready to take my order for few minutes more. Although this sounds trivial, time is of the essence. If you say you're going to open at 11, then open at 11 and be ready to serve your customers As for the food, their quality has gone down. Their pho is always solid...today I had the short rib pho...2 large pieces of tender short ribs, fresh noodles and hot tasty broth along with some sprouts and jalapeno (comes with a wedge of lime or lemon wedge, whichever you prefer).  Just a great dish to have on a winter's day.  SO had the vermicelli with pork chops, shrimp and spring roll...another great dish that sticks to your ribs going down.  We shared a vietnamese coffee with lychee, which we treated as a refreshing dessert at the end. The pho bowls are HUGE! The intricate interior cannot be ignored, with beautiful light fixtures and leaf wall decor. The food came speedy quick with everyone's pho orders placed seamlessly into one stroller cart. I got the Pho Shop ($16), because what better way to judge a shop's credibility than by its traditional classic dish. The soup taste was pretty flavorful, but not the best I ever had. Most notable was how dry their beef was. They unfortunately didn't have sauce cups readily available for patrons like me who dip their beef separately. The taste of the meat was a little off, and the sauce just seemed like soy sauce poured all over the meat. We added hoisin sauce to make it better but I'm not sure it helped much. Why haven't I come here sooner?! Dined here on a Friday night shortly before 6pm. It was already very busy and soon afterwards there was a wait for tables. There was also a constant stream of to go orders being picked up. I really wanted to try the "famous beef pho" but when asked about the spiciness the waitress said it's spicier than Siracha. I am writing this review as someone who grew up adjacent to the neighborhood called Little Saigon in Garden Grove, California. And if you know, it is one of the places that has some pretty great and authentic pho. Both arrived well packaged and compartmentalized, which made it easy to set up the food and also split it into two meals. So the servings were pretty great. My big feedback would be that the limes that came with our hot jalapeño and sprouts were dry and had no juice, which is frustrating. Overall, I did enjoy the food and every thing mixed well too.
