This place was just okay. We came because we had a coupon, but honestly it'd be pretty expensive for waht we got without the coupon. There's better pho locations in Lake Forest. They individually wrap portions of jalapenos, limes, bean sprouts, basil, etc. Which seems like a huge waste of plastic to me, which was offputting. Egg rolls were pricey and just okay. Deep fried to the point you can't taste what was inside. Onto the pho....The broth itself wasn't very flavorful. It was a little lackluster and not very memorable. We got the more "expensive" options such as oxtail and filet mignon. The meats were sparse for the price/size of the bowls. Our stomaches also did not feel the greatest after this meal, which ended up continuing the next day. This was the old meal we both had in common, so I believe that's what made our stomachs upset. read more

My wife had the pho with rare beef with well done brisket, and I had the charbroil beef and rice. The meal started with our server dropping a cup of iced water. Fortunately, we didn't get splashed and were moved swiftly to a new table so they could clean up. No big deal in the end :) The food took a bit to come out (we came during lunchtime on a Friday, so we kind of figured that would be the case going in). My wife got the milk tea and was surprised it had boba, but it was pleasant - she asked for less sweet, and that was definitely the right call. The veggie plate side we received definitely didn't have enough seasoning, but with the table condiments and salt, we were able to make do. My wife and I liked the charbroil beef, I had to set aside some of mine so she could have more :) All in all, a good lunch place! :) read more

I wouldn't say it's the best but it's pretty good for what you pay. Portions are decent. They give plenty of meat but the bowls aren't as big as some other places offering Large bowls. The veggie plate is rather small and seems to be a waste of time, dishes and plastic. If you like veggies, you'd most likely have to ask for extra. Each plate comes with one sprig of basil, 2 sliced pieces of jalapeño, 1/4 lime and a very small handful of bean sprout. Pho is flavorful with all the meat variety you could ask for when ordering pho dac biet. This place gives you meatballs as part of the order while others make you pay extra. Bun Bo Hue was just okay. Broth needs a bit more flavor but one of the the things I do like is that instead of your typical pig feet, they give you pork ribs. It's not as fatty as your pig feet but it does have the cartilage that some people like myself really enjoy. You have to ask for purple cabbage and satay. Also the pork blood is a bonus. The fish sauce chicken wings were nice and crispy but their fish sauce didn't really coat the wings as much. I love fish sauce and for me it was very mild. So overall just tasted like plain chicken wings. The appetizer combo would probably be the best option for those who want to try everything. Egg roll is more meaty instead of the cheap veggie ones others give. The wontons I'm not sure what was in there. The filling was so small I might as well deep fried wonton wrapper. Spring rolls, well, it's the same everywhere. The sauce is what makes it great. Overall a place I would continue to eat at because of the friendly employees and all of the items come with all the variety you'd usually ask for in other restaurants. I stopped by this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and the place was full but the lady serving still took her time to help me navigate their menu. After ordering it didn't take much time to receive my order to go. The pho was a hit at home. The broth was flavorful and delicious. Will definitely be visiting this location more often. Sadly this was a miss for us. Loved the fact that they Saran wrapped each individual portion of fresh veggies, jalapeños, lime, and a sauce dish but that's where the positives stopped. The pho broth was very bland and not as flavorful as pho normally is. The meat was extremely scarce and almost nonexistent. I got maybe 4 slices of beef, 2 tendons, and a bite of tripe in my large order. Been going here for great food since they opened years ago. Today was totally different :-( Ordered the Cornish hen with tomato rice. I have ordered this many times and love it. Today's serving consisted of 1/2 of a hen, bad meat, tasted off and lots of dried out rice. I used to get a whole bird, now they serve 1/2 at the same price. I called and asked about it, and the guy said,"it was always 1/2,", which was a lie. I will NOT be going back and wasting money. It's a shame too, I love Vietnamese cuisine. Solid 4.5 stars. We came with a party of 11, there were a few times we had to ask for things but that wasn't a problem. They handled us well. We had 5 screaming hungry kids and food came in a timely manner. Prices are decent. Soup broth was tasty. The best deal is ordering the side of rice noodles. It comes with soup and easily fed my two girls. They were happy. Egg rolls were nice and crispy. Vietnamese coffee with condense milk will probably keep me up tonight. I would definitely come back! Loveddd the pho here! I got the chicken pho & my boyfriend had the pho dac biet. We both got a large although I needed help finishing mine. The basil, bean sprouts, & lime were also very fresh. Both orders came with a good amount of meat & the broth was delicious!! Spring rolls were also very good. Highly recommend! I liked that they cut them in half so it was easier to eat/share. My only tiny complaint was that the iced coffee was too sweet. The waitress gave me a heads up that it's pre-made. I poured a bunch of water and mixed it and it was better. No biggie. So out goes Majestic and in comes Pho So 1. The older restaurant has now been replaced by a much more vibrant, modern, and clean space. The service is prompt and the food is well done. At any pho place have to try two staples - pho or the bbq pork chop. As it's been hot and humid opted for the latter and was not disappointed. The amount of food was not overly abundant but also not light. The rice was soft and very fragrant. The picked veggies change up the flavor profile. The cucumber and tomatoes provide a freshness to the plate. And the grilled poke chop with the fish sauce is amazingly seasoned and savory. This may now become my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in south OC. I will be back for more and eagerly look forward to it. read more
