Someone from my workplace recommended this pho restaurant, saying it's one of the good ones he's been to around Olympia/Lacey areas. It's located in this little restaurant area next to Subway and Little Caesars on College St SE in Lacey. Apple Maps took me and my friend to H&R Block/Bank area, and we were so confused. But it's in the area with the foods. There's ample parking spaces that won't ever be a problem. I got the combo large pho with fried roll (basically a spring roll from Hawaii terms). I chose the steak and meatball pho (couldn't choose the special combination with all the meats). When my order came out, only a piece of fried roll came with the combo LOL. But the pho bowl was HUGE. The food looked really mouthwatering, and I couldn't wait to try it. I also ordered a wintermelon milk tea (Tin Tin Tea which is located INSIDE this restaurant; guess they own both places; review for the drink will be on Tin Tin Tea). The pho was actually really good. The broth tasted almost like the authentic style I really really liked. It came with a lot of meat and the noodles were soft. This was a really good bowl of pho that I would definitely come back for. Thankfully, I work near the restaurant happy tears. The fried roll was filled with a lot of meat fillings and tasted not too bad. The skin was an interesting wrapper that reminded me a lot like the thin shrimp chips. It held its crunchiness even though I had forgotten about it as I ate my pho LOL. Minor but kind of wished I got fish sauce as my dipping sauce rather than the Mae Ploy sauce. I honestly enjoyed my food. The pho definitely hit the spot of the cold temperature and after a long day of work. Definitely will be back for more in the future! read more

Stopped by here for a quick lunch on our road trip home. My cousin got a bowl of pho for herself, some Fried Gyozas for her son, and I got a Vermicelli Noodle Bowl with prawns and pork. I read so many great reviews here and i decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken pho with veggie broth because i don't eat beef broth. Anyways i took one bite and automatically knew it was beef broth. I tried asking them to take it back but they told me since i already bit into it, i have to pay for it and also pay for the replacing pho. I was so upset. You can dine-in here. They made a conscientious effort for social distancing. I remember coming here three years ago or more and the pho broth was amazing. The ox tail fell off the bone like butter. The broth is 'meh'. The broth makes a pho dish, so when you have a huge bowl of 'meh' with such good ox tail, it's kinda sad. The appetizer was ok, it's your average springroll. The food was good BUT the whole experience was ruined by the presence of a wild roach. It was running across the bench where two young ladies were trying to enjoy their pho. They Screamed in horror as the roach ran towards safety. Tania makes the BEST boba drinks and is always super sweet, this is by far the best viet food/boba in lacey.

I love this drink, but have learned to stop ordering it via delivery. It's not tasty, the making of them aren't consistent. One order I get zero "Bubbles" and whip cream next order I'll get a bland purple drink with barley anything in it. I did purchase two of these this evening. They both looked the same. Since my last review I've come here for take out 4 times. I always end up getting the large chicken pho with extra cilantro and onions. I have to say that pho tai really hits the spot when the weather is chilly and rainy like it is right now. The one thing that I still like about pho tai is that they don't add msg to their pho broth. I have to say this place has grown on me. The large chicken pho is good enough for two hearty meals for me, I usually warm up the broth on the stove when I get it for take out, and then save half of it for a later meal. They are quite generous with the veggies that come with the pho. Now this is my go to spot for pho in Lacey. I also started getting their boba more, and am on a quest to try out all their fruit teas. Pho Tai is brand new. I've been waiting patiently for it to open. The atmosphere is quaint, not overly decorated ...plain and simple with a few bright colors that liven the place up...kind of no frills. There were quite a few people there for such a new pho place, but that's a good thing. As I sat down the waitress asked me, "Are you Josh?" I practically fell out my chair and there I was trying to flip throught the Rolodex of my mind to see if I could remember who she was, then as she saw the bewilderment on my face she asked, "Are you the one that posted a picture of our sign on Yelp!?". Oh my gosh....my first recognition from Yelp!. I couldn't help but have a super huge smile on my face. She thanked me for putting them on Yelp, and took my order. I've been looking for a new pho place and I will say that this place is pretty good. I got my usual veggie pho and a strawberry bubble tea. The tofu in my veggie pho was so good, evenly fried on all sides with just the right amount of crunch. I can't help but think it was fried in some kind of good oil or fat because that's the first time I tasted a flavor to the tofu. Now I'm not a connessieur of broth so I won't comment. There were a few less vegetables than I'm used to seeing though. Don't get me wrong, there were quite a few veggies, but I kind of missed the baby bok choy, green beans, and cauliflower. No big deal...it was a wonderful meal overall. Also, its not just pho either! They've got Vietnamese curry, Vietnamese French bread sandwiches, teriyaki, & fried rice. Everything you could possibly want. The waitress is really nice and has a smile on her face. Parking can be a little hectic since there is a small parking lot and Little Caesar's customers are in and out since they are super busy, but once you get a spot you're good to go. I came here during the Fourth of July with my boyfriend because I was craving some bubble tea. The other shops were closed and I normally don't like ordering bubble tea from Pho shops (only because I have worked at one in the past) ... they use powder form and it's not my most favorite. I ordered the Kiwi Pineapple for myself and Strawberry Lychee for the boyfriend. He ended up liking mine a lot more (which was pretty tasty) and I ended up with his Strawberry Lychee which ended up suiting my mood better for that day. We sat for awhile and enjoyed our bubble tea and then decided he wanted some Pho while we were there and went up to the lady to order some pho. I got the usual which contains steak and brisket. It had a lot of fatty meat for brisket... I know Flank is usually the brisket looking one with extra fatty. I was disappointed in the meat but other than that, the Pho was alright. read more

The food was pretty good and so was the bubble tea, but the reason I'm only giving two stars is because of unlisted charges that appeared on my bill. Apparently there is a 15% service charge for parties over 4, but this charge was not listed in the menu and we were not informed of it by the server. Because I didn't know about the service charge and I did not receive an itemized bill I tipped an additional 20%, which is my standard rate. I realized after I got home that the math didn't add up so I called the restaurant to find out why my bill ended up being $15 more than it should have been. That's when I was told about the service fee. I am COMPLETELY fine with restaurants charging mandatory gratuity, but making that charge without informing the customer is never okay. We will not be back. If the owners of Pho Tai are reading: please list the service charge in your menu. read more

My family loves pho. It is one thing we enjoy together. My parents had suggested this place since last year saying it was amazing. Today it was ANYTHING but. Unfortunately the waiter was rude and didn't hear many of our requests, we had to yell at one point to get his attention (while he was less than 2 feet away), he couldn't remember our orders after repeating them multiple times. The only time they get my drink right are if the girls are working. If you get the guys, good luck. They have made my drink wrong 3x already and even my cousins wrong 2x. I don't understand how when they ask me 2x and even repeat my order back to me? They also use powder in their drinks and not real fruit, it really does show. I would rather drive 20 minutes to get someone to make my drink right than 5 minutes to have someone make my drink completely wrong. Absolutely awesome food!!! I ordered the classic milk tea with rainbow jellies, chicken fried rice and panang curry. When ordering I often times think of Sandra Bullock's character on 2 weeks notice, but I survive on left overs... so it's totally okay! :) Back to it, everything I ordered was scrumptious, the portions were large and the flavor was excellent. I moved here 2 years ago and I am happy to announce that I have FINALLY found my goto spot when the craving is there. I see this is the restaurant that somehow I apparently had started a review on long ago. As I noted then, however, it was an error because I had never been near this establishment. This is fine dining in my opinion. The food was excellent, the menu is vast, the employees are super friendly and helpful with understanding the menu. I know what I want and don't want and I'm not sure what I'm doing can you please help me type of moment for me. The restaurant is clean and tidy. My only suggestion is to work a little more on becoming handicap accessible. The portions are huge! I was able to take plenty home and have a couple more meals. I found the menu very affordable. Between huge portions that were so affordable and all making my taste buds very excited, you can bet, I'll be back. If you're not sure where to go for your pho experience, look no further. Try here. Dammit. Fooled again by an incorrect rating. This was an awful experience for me, but I gave Pho Tai two stars because my family enjoyed themselves. However, my 90 year old grandparents would enjoy themselves practically anywhere. Immediately upon entering I noticed at least three dirty tables that had yet to be cleaned. Gross. We picked a table in the middle of the restaurant and were handed menus. At no time after that did we receive water. In fact, we only received water after I requested it 10-minutes later when a waitress arrived to take my order for appetizers. About 10 minutes after our dinner orders were taken, the appetizers arrived. Then 5-minutes after that our dinner was served. The waitresses were fairly accommodating and patient with my grandparents, but they gave me my mother's order and completely forgot the bubble tea that I ordered. What they didn't forget was to charge me for it. Awesome. Thanks, Pho Tai, for forcing me to correct your mistake. The egg rolls were decent as well as the gyoza, even though I am fairly certain one of these appetizers was probably frozen and then tossed in a deep fryer. My grandparents enjoyed the spring rolls and the seafood Pho and my mom seemed to like her chicken Pho as well. I, on the other hand, ordered some disgusting chicken katsu. Actually, it was more like chicken-tendon katsu. In addition, they served me a big glob of white rice that was stuck together. Everything on my plate was unappetizing, except for the cole slaw! Haha. So, no, I won't be returning to Pho Tai....ever. The service is slow, inattentive, disorganized, and incompetent. Other than the Pho, the food is bad. Just plain bad.
