Full disclosure I really wanted to go to Pho Saigon across the street since they have the best Bun Bo Hue but they didn't open for dinner until 5pm. But I was in the mood for hot noodle soup on the cold day so I ended up giving Pho Tango a try. You can see the whole restaurant from the front door viewpoint and they had small tables, big tables for groups and cozy booths. We were greeted right away and seated since they weren't super busy. I always appreciate when extra accommodation is made for my toddler: closed water cup with straw and small bowl and soup spoon. I got the Beef Special Soup (almost $18). It came piping hot and with the typical accompaniment of bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeños. It wasn't the worst pho I had but it also wasn't the best (sorry but the best pho in the area is definitely Pho Oregon) but it hit the spot. I didn't have to add any hoisin sauce or sriracha to my soup because it was flavorful enough on its own. But I do like to dip the beef in hoisin and chili sauce. I didn't really feel like it was worth $18 for this bowl of pho but I also got their new appetizer Bahn Mi to go ($8) which I thought was a good deal and my husband liked it when I brought it home. I used to love this place when I visited Intel in the past. However, the quality of the pho noodles seems to go down. They don't serve enough meat and bean sprouts and basil was not enough to fill the flavor. Vermicelli served in bowl is hard to mix them up. Came here to try their pho and vermicelli bowl with lemongrass pork and egg rolls. Pho was lacking ingredients and flavor of broth is not rich, a bit overpriced compared to other local pho places. Our go to is Pho Oregon Vermicelli bowl presentation was good however mostly noodles and though the pork would come out much as in photos. The pork was cut in small strips and more dried like jerky style and the egg roll only comes in one piece and sadly it was soggy. This was a craving and we were quite disappointed. The premade sweet fish sauce that came with the entree was way too sweet. Presentation and cleanliness of restaurant was good and chill vibes for couples date or just group gathering. I moved to Omaha Nebraska three years ago, where I swear they don't know what even Pho is. I grew up in Beaverton and always went to Pho Tango and always order the Pho. It's simply the best out there! There are other great Pho places here in the Portland area ( not Omaha though ) but I think Pho Tango is definitely one of the best out there. If you're in the mood for fair pho at a reasonable price, then this may be the place for you. I ordered their traditional beef pho with eye of round steak and was not impressed by the lack of complexity in the broth nor the unorthodox cut of beef. The broth had little body to it and the prominent flavor profile was star anise. It could have used with a touch more green onion and the addition of cilantro to give it a little more oomph. On the positive side, it didn't taste like there was MSG but it was missing the robustness of solid bone broth flavor. The eye of round steak seemed to be cut too narrowly and thickly, which felt like a cross between traditional, paper thin pho beef slices and not quite stir fry cuts. I was expecting wafer thin slices of beef, so there was a little more chew than I was looking for. From a value standpoint, the large bowl is priced below many competitors but seemed closer in portion to others' regular sized bowl. Overall, it was just mediocre. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about. With so many other solid pho options in the area, I'll skip a return visit and head back to old favorites. read more

So much disappointment. I would give it zero but one is the least amount. Background info: I used to come here a lot before pandemic and when people ask what do I order I always order their rice plates because their meats are tender and it's always fresh and good. Welp, today changed. I ordered take out and you have to call in (no online option). That's fine, just wanted you all to know. 1. Fried Spring Rolls ($5.95). This was delicious; crispy on the outside and the spices and flavors were lovely. DOWNSIDE: this was so expensive. $6 for two tiny spring rolls, that's like $3 for one, not worth it. You can see the picture I took, it looked so sad. If I pay $6, at least one more or like other Asian restaurants, they give you 4. It's not worth the price. 2. Grilled Lemongrass Pork Rice plate $13.50 and Grilled honey lemongrass chicken for $13.50. Lemongrass? I don't taste any, just grilled. Did they forget to add it? I tasted none. The rice was hard, not just cold but almost raw. I had to put all the rice in a bowl, add some boiling water and steam it for 3 minutes before it was edible. Wow, it was bad. It felt like rice from the day(s) before. I was super sad about it because it used to compliment the pickled veggies and meats so well! Next, the textures of the meat were hard and dry. Even worse, they weren't slices of chicken but crumbles. It's like leftover chicken bits with a few slices so it looks like it was an entire piece of chicken. I was sad because those two were my go-to foods at this place and now it's the worst. I will have to go to another Vietnamese place to eat something better and fresher. 3. Tofu Pad Thai for $13.75. Not fragrant. I know I know, Thai food at a Vietnamese restaurant. Yeah, no need to try. It's not as sweet as Thai's pad thai but still nah. It was sad. At first I contemplated hot soup on an 80 degree afternoon but upon entering the restaurant we got a blast of the chill AC and I immediately opt for Pho! Good portions, delicious broth and good company deserves a 5star. After slurping down every bite of noodle, I found it difficult getting out of the booth. How do those attempt and finish the Pho challenge!? So glad we stopped in and got our Pho fix for lunch. They also have outdoor seating available, good for any size groups, and ample parking but it does fill up fast during the busy lunch rush.
