I was so excited to hear there was going to be a Vietnamese/Thai restaurant making it's home so close to mine. I mean I could easily walk there if it's not raining, the elevator is running, and the I'm feeling extra ambitious. Instead of walking though, I popped by after running errands and tried to time my visit in between what I assumed would be the lunch crowd and the after work crowd. Yea....I was the only one there! I was pleased with the rather large-ish menu and super pleased to see Panang Curry listed. My original intention was Vietnamese but they had me at Panang. My server was super friendly asking me if I was from the area, how I heard about the restaurant, and just general making chit chat. And even though I had the teapot at the table, he came by a couple of times to fill my tea cup and re-fill my water. Big marks for that. The prices were very reasonable. About a dollar cheaper per entree than even the closest Asian restaurant (not counting Chinese) and several bucks less than similar eateries in Portland proper. The food arrived fairly quickly and was not only delicious but also steaming hot and more food than I should have eaten at one sitting. But it was sooooo good I couldn't help myself. The crowd picked up as I dined and by the time I left several tables were filled with what appeared to be local business people having a bite before heading home as well as a couple of families. I understand the lunch hours (11-2) are quite busy but with an entire page of menu items priced at $5.95, I can see why there's such a lunch rush. I had an order of beef Pho delivered through Postmates. The flavor of it was fine, but I was given only about 2oz of beef in a large order (I worked in a vietnamese restaurant, usually for a large order youd get around 6oz) not to mention the beef itself appeared a little old and stringy. I was super hungry and decided to eat a bowl of it anyways. Well it's been 24hrs since I've eaten it and I've been having stomach issues all day. It was LITERALLY the only thing I ate yesterday so I know it's the culprit. Sadly, I wont be able to trust this place again. Just be careful ordering meat dishes here. read more

I have been to Thailand and this restaurant is pretty close to what we experienced there food wise. Absolutely my favorite little spot to enjoy some tom yum soup, pad see ew, and the spicy basil fried rice is to die for. Pretty much everything you order here comes with wonderful flavors and the prices are all good. I decided to order a cocktail last night and it was also delicious. We heard from family members that this is one of the better Pho places around town so we stopped in to check it out. They were right! Soooo good! We've had 4 different types and all of them were great! The chicken pho is my favorite. Everything is served fairly quickly and is piping hot. I love HOT soup. We plan on coming back to try some other dishes on the menu soon too. The people are very nice but a little laid back on attentiveness. Delicious Special Bún with grilled pork, shrimp, and egg roll. Their Broccoli Stir Fry with beef is my favorite in town; the sauce is delicious and the broccoli is always crunchy. I love coming here for steaming pho when the winter gray rains set in, too. We've always had great service and the staff are friendly. This is the most authentic and delicious food. My wife loves the vermicelli bowls. I usually enjoy the pad thai. The egg rolls and spring rolls are delicious. The dumplings and plum sauce are a perfect appetizer to any dish. We've eaten here over a dozen times and never been disappointed. Staff is always pleasant and quick. This is my go-to Pho joint, because of proximity, and it's good. Their menu is broader than traditional Vietnamese offerings, probably due to local tastes in asian cuisine, but I am impressed that they try hard to please all. Service is fast, restaurant clean, and the servers always seem polite. I only get their Pho Dac Biet anymore, so my advice is limited. While not my favorite place for this dish, I'm glad they offer a darn good version so close to my home. read more

I have been waiting for a Pho place to pop up around here, and this place is great! The Pho is really good. My dining companions have always enjoyed their meals, but I love the Pho so much I have not yet been able to get myself to try something else. So good. Parking can be a hassle depending on the time of day, and it seems like the place fills up with County folks around lunch time, but I have always been lucky enough to find close parking and always got a table (even if it was the last one). I have to admit, I'm a bit of an Asian food elitist. As such, I rarely travel beyond Southeast Portland to get pho (other than when I'm traveling or on tour with the band). However, I happened to be in Oregon City and someone took me here to Pho Thi. I was pleasantly surpirsed. Normally, I when I see a distinct lack of an Asian customer base or multiple Asian cuisines served on the same menu, I get a bit skeptical and question the authenticity of the food. But worries were eased the moment I took my first sip of the broth of the Pho Dac Biet (essentially, it's the big bowl of beef noodle soup with everything in it, the house special). The pho was flavorful, you could tell that it was made fresh that day. The thinly sliced beef had great flavor and texture. The tendon, tripe, and meatballs were equally good. The greens that came with it were crisp and fresh. The price wasn't bad either. If I happen to return to Oregon City, I know there's a good option for some solid pho. I wouldn't say it outshines other places I've had and it isn't worth the drive from the city, but it's probably the best place in O.C. read more

Finally made it in to try. I've been meaning to but never got around to stopping. I ordered from the lunch menu but was told it was too late in the day. I guess I lost track of time. It was already 2:30. So I ordered Chicken Pad Thai off the main menu. I asked for a 3 in spicy (1-5 hotness scale) It was prepared perfectly. A tad on the dry side maybe but very delicious. I brought nearly half of it home as it was way too much for an afternoon meal. I have still yet to try PHO ever! I keep meaning to but for the price I always change my mind for solid plate of food. I guess I need to SEE what Pho is and maybe get a sample taste of it before I throw down that much for "soup". I intend to go back so that my husband can try it too. He love spicy Thai. Pho Thi serves up sub-par southeast Asian food. The curries are flat. The stir fries lack in flavor. None of the ingredients really seem that great of quality. Also, service is pretty dang slow. But I have eaten here a few times, because downtown Oregon City doesn't have much going on and the prices are good. The thing is, (and it took me a few visits too many to realize this) I get really sick every time I eat here. I've been a vegetarian for over a decade, and so my digestive tract has lost its meat-eating powers. My Pho Thi induced stomach pains make me very dubious that the vegetable entrees are actually prepared with meaty things (like chicken broth, perhaps?) Whatever the culprit, I consistently feel terrible after dining here. If you're into meat, this probably won't be a problem for you. But for all you vegheads out there, proceed with caution. read more

I got the Pad Thai, and the Salad Rolls. The Pad Thai was good, lots of chicken, good flavor, and under $6 for lunch, no complaints there! However, the salad rolls, were so bland. The only veggies were ICEBERG lettuce and a few bean sprouts. This is Oregon City and not Portland, so I'll give them a break, since the appetizer does not make the meal. But guys, give me some basil or mint leaves or something! Persoanally I prefer American lettuce completely left out of my salad rolls, it just takes flavor away.
