At last I don't have to drive to Red Bank in order to get a great bowl of noodles. This place is wonderful. My wife and I have been there 3 times since it opened and we've never had a bad experience. The wait staff is terrific and the food is over the top great. We've had both the crispy spring rolls and the Rocket shrimp rolls and on each occasion we've ordered the House Special Clear Noodle Soup which is this huge bowl of the most wonderful stock loaded with shrimp, bbq pork, fish balls, ground pork and a generous portion of rice noodles. I seriously come here at least once a week. The staff is very friendly and approachable if it is your first time. The restaurant is a small shop, but they make up in their product they are putting out to the public. Pho Ga is my go to and it is out of this world. The broth is seriously good! And the noodles were chewy, I loved my food! Someone mentioned before tendon and tripe are not on the menu but just ask for it, then you get everything in the soup. If you've had better pho than this in the NY/Phi area, please tell me where. This is the real deal. A modest, family-run place with a dedicated kitchen, where the food is super-fresh and prepared without cut corners. They don't use MSG, so you won't be drinking a gallon of water and feeling bleh after your meal. Their vegetable pho with the vegetarian broth is the best I have ever eaten. It is well balanced and packed with vegetables, including dark greens, making this a nutritiously delicious meal. Their stir-fry and noodle dishes stand with the best available East Asian takeout on the Jersey shore. NOTE: There is a special, separate menu for vegans and vegetarians -- you have to ask for it. If you are vegan, be sure to specify the vegetarian broth. I have taken chef friends to Pho Viet Express and also my wary 79-year-old mom along with her even warier retirement village neighbors. This was my first time coming here and what a treat! I wasn't in the mood for Pho but still wanted noodles so decided to try the Bun Nuong house special vermicelli noodles. Wow! Was it delicious. When I took my first bite of the meat, I fell in love! I don't know what I was expecting but this far surpassed it. I couldn't stop eating it! The meat was seasoned so wonderfully and you could taste that it was grilled. Sooo good. The noodles were light and refreshing which was a nice balance to the meat. A friend and I came here after he mentioned how good it was. I am very pleasantly surprised! Everything was extremely fresh, portions were quite generous, and it was authentic and very tasty. Our waitress was friendly as well - good service is always a plus. I had a medium vegetable pho, and was surprised when the bowl came out because it was massive. The food itself was excellent and true-to-culture, and was exactly what I needed. The prices were very reasonable as well, and it was moderately busy when I went, which is good to see. If I was reviewing the only food, it would be five-stars. Our experience was marred by service issues because it got too crowded too quick. Saturday about 2pm, we showed up to see two tables eating. We were a group of 12 and they pushed tables together, got us seated, and took drink orders. Then a group of 6 came in. Then two groups of 4 came in. Then a group of 9 came in. (big event in town just let out) Half our table got their drinks, we all placed food orders, and great food came out in random order. We kept asking for water. After eating, drinks resembling (but not equalling) what we ordered showed up. Our table had a little of everything, and we all loved what we ate. The pho broth was wonderful! I highly recommend this place. What I like is there is no watering down of the Vietnamese food here. The only negative comment I have is the lemonade was not freshly made, but I can live without it because everything else was freshly made like the spring rolls and egg rolls. My family ordered the dumplings sampler, spring roll, and autumn roll for starters - all so yummy especially the grilled pork in the autumn roll. I ordered the pho (P1 on the menu), which was delicious! My husband ordered the beef fried noodles. The beef and sauce were tasty.
