Heard about Pho VietFresh from a few different people and decided to give it a try for lunch. They do have a lunch special where you get an appetizer, a bowl of pho and a drink for around $15. I went with egg rolls and pho bo vien (meatball). The pho was pretty average. Their other dishes are pretty authentic.... the banh xeo and bun thit nuong. I was craving pho and the place I usually go to was closed so I thought I'd give this place a try. Ordered vegan pho for takeout and the first thing I noticed when I picked up the bag of food that it was heavy. Like not just a little heavier than other pho takeout, but a lot heavier. Got it home and took a look at the massive amount of well-packaged food. Opened it all up and even though it's 26 degrees outside and I live 15 mins away, it was still really hot. Thought they forgot the plum sauce but it was invisible in the huge bag of veggies that came with the soup. The veggies were also super fresh. The only thing I wasn't fond of was a hot drink I ordered. It was lukewarm and I was really looking forward to something hot while driving home on this cold night. I came here with my husband on Valentine's day because I wanted to try a new pho place and the interior looked romantic enough for ab outing that's not way too fancy, but enough for a date night. Plenty of parking since it is located in a shopping center with a large lot. Near Giant. We were seated and scanned a QR code that allowed us to order and pay from our phones which was convenient for us. Someone still came by to take our order though lol. It took a little longer than we're used to for 2 bowls of pho, but it was fairly busy so I just assumed it was because of that. Once we got our bowls, I noticed the server kind of paused and maybe realized the ingredients I picked for my bowl were not right because he hesitated a bit and then just walked away. I didn't mind that much because I'm not that picky when it comes to pho. The bean sprouts and basil were super fresh and clean, though. The taste was good, but not like omg I need to come here for my pho every time good. Overall, the experience was kind of lackluster because the staff seemed a bit confused with our table. One person walking around asking tables if they ordered so and so appetizer while carrying it around. I saw our table number on our receipt so I was confused on why they were so confused. I normally get Bun Bo Hue in Eden Center but here is even more flavorful fill with meats and at least I know it clean. The soup base was so nice and soothing the lemongrass flavor and amazing aroma. Perfectly Spice but I always added additional Pate Chili oil paste. I'd seen Pho VietFresh pop up on my Yelp searches every now and then when looking for some place to go for dinner, but hadn't had a chance to visit. I'd always wondered -- there are so many pho places in this area, it must be fierce competition, right? I finally had that chance to dine in recently, and I'm so glad that I did. This pho is legit. I ordered the combination pho (large, +$2) and it was absolutely huge. My friend ordered the "build your own pho" (also a large) and was super satisfied that they got to pick and choose the meats they wanted. For an appetizer, we got the spring rolls. They were big rolls, and piping hot, straight from the fryer. There were a lot of tasty-looking drinks on the menu -- I will definitely leave some room for one of them the next time around. Finally had a chance to give them another try. I placed an order online. If you know what you want, and what the entrees are already, you'll find no issue with the online ordering interface; if you're new to Vietnamese cuisine or this restaurant, the online ordering won't give you detailed descriptions or pictures of any kind. Plus, even if you order during non-peak hours, the app defaults to a 30-40min pickup time. Probably better to order by phone or in person, as the kitchen is far faster than that. I tried the spring rolls, which are really larger than I expected. I'm used to them being thin, and these are closer to a traditional egg roll. It comes with a clear dipping sauce. I got the pork/shrimp kind (rather than all veggie), and they were only "eh" to me. I'm sure they were cooked well, it just didn't suit my palate. I tried their crispy shrimp rolls as well. Now those I'd order again. The small, crispy type I thought the spring rolls would be. The shrimp are wrapped in Thai basil, so if you like that mild licorice taste to the basil you'll love them. The rails stick out on one side too, making them easy to hold and eat. And they come with the sweet and sour sauce I enjoy. My husband got the Vietnamese style chicken fried rice, and I got the pork belly Banh Mí sandwich. The fried rice portion was very big, and the rice isn't doused in soy sauce like the Chinese kind people are more used to. He said it was good, but different. He's a picky eater though. My Banh Mí sandwich was huuuuge. Definitely enough for two meals. It had great flavor, the bread had a nice crispy crust to it. I also tried Boba tea for the very first time. I got the Thai Iced Tea one, and it was sweet and refreshing. Tons of tapioca balls at the bottom!! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Even brought my to-go order outside to me when it was ready. Took my family here for dinner one night and didn't expect too much. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! The menu was fairly small compared to other Viet restaurants, but it was very straight forward. I ordered my go-to grilled pork vermicelli bowl and was blown away by how large the portion size was! The noodles weren't fantastic, but the meat and veggies more than made up for that in quantity and quality. It was way more than enough for me. We ordered a summer roll and it was definitely enough to split with my wife. Most Viet places tend to serve smaller summer rolls. All-in-all, despite the number of Vietnamese restaurants in my area, I would go back here for a big serving of their vermicelli bowl. It is worth the trip for sure! read more

My family rarely goes out to eat Vietnamese food because we could just make it at home but this restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese dishes, better than my grandmas cooking (sorry gma). We had the banh xeo (savory egg pancake), bo luc lac (shaking beef), bun thit nuong (grilled pork). Everything was so flavorful served with a side of raw vegetables and herbs. I have lived in Herndon for 13 years. In all my time here, my favorite pho restaurant in the area has been Pho VietFresh. I only just recently discovered it during the pandemic via uber eats, but it was the best discovery I've ever made. Their pho is tasty, but their bun bo hue is even better. I order the BBH probably once every couple weeks. Their portions are also enormous. You will never leave here feeling unsatisfied or hungry. Besides the pho and bun bo hue, I usually also order the goi cuon (summer shrimp rolls). The restaurant used to offer the fried spring rolls as well, but it has disappeared from uber eats. I have not eaten in person here in quite some time so I don't know if that's just an uber eats thing or not. Regardless, there is nothing here that I've tried that I didn't like. I literally order from this restaurant at least once every 2 weeks. The restaurant itself is also very clean, very nicely decorated, and the staff are exceptionally nice. I haven't eaten here in person much because I usually order delivery but when I have, it has always been a great experience. Whenever I'm at home, this is my preferred pho restaurant. The location was pretty crowded for what I would consider "late" lunch (2pm) and it took a little longer than expected for the server to take my order. The server recommended the lunch special which included 1 roll (I went w the summer roll), a build your own pho (I went w TaiGau) and a beverage. The food was prepared quickly and the summer roll was one of the largest I've had (and also had a piece of thinly sliced pork in it which I've never seen) and was most importantly quite tasty! I have been to this place during busy hours and they do amazing with just a few servers and managing many tables. However, I also went on off hours, and it is a little bit slower, including with the service which is counterintuitive. One thing that's awesome about this place is it's kind of also a coffee shop where they can give you Wi-Fi and you can just have tea or coffee and work from there for lunch meetings. read more

Had a small issue with one of our dishes and they addressed quickly without hassle Now the negative It's just not that good. I feel like the higher scores are from people that haven't had good Vietnamese food. Look, it was fine. Just not 4.5 stars FINE. There are way better places in the area from a taste/flavor perspective. We ordered pho (just ok), wings (bland, greasy), grill chicken (dry, not very flavorful), shaking beef (this one was pretty good) Again, it's fine. But just OK. This is my favorite full menu Vietnamese restaurant outside the beltway. They speak English well no mess ups on communication. The food is fresh. Vermicelli Noodle Bowl is typically my cheat meal add an order of summer rolls and an iced coffee and I'm in a harmonious state. Vietnamese Grill BBQ Mon Nong is my next favorite dish. At first we were hesitant since it was a bit more pricey than the average Viet restaurant but when we saw the portions, we were not disappointed. Each entree could have EASILY fed 2-3 people. The Grilled Pork Vermicelli is usually one of my go-tos at a Viet restaurant and this one didn't disappoint. The pork was well seasoned and flavored and I loved that they added a lot more vegetables (pickled carrots and radish, lettuce, cucumber). As for the shaking beef and rice, this was our first time trying it and the flavors were amazing and unique. The beef was slightly overcooked/more chewy than expected but was still good. I think getting rice with this dish was perfect bc the sauce went soooo well with rice and it was a great balance.
