Just ate there and had a vermicelli bowl and a bobo tea. Both tasted bad. The bowl didn't even come in a bowl, it was on a plate. There was almost no meet with the dish, 95% noodles. The rolls it came with were soft and tasted funny. Then I got a bobo tea to go, and quite frankly it tasted like soap or chemicals. Lesson learned to never go back there. read more

I was staying in Desert Hot Springs and drove pretty far out of my way to try Pho Vu. Overall, the pho was good. The broth had a great flavor, the veggies were fresh and abundant, and the portion size was just right. But the noodles were mushy and broken, so I ended up with half a bowl of goo and tiny bits of broken noodles. I was pretty disappointed. There are many options on the menu, there is ample seating throughout the restaurant, and the wait staff were attentive and helpful. I'll definitely be back to give the pho another shot. Out of fairness, I did arrive late in the day. Perhaps the kitchen was winding down for the day when I arrived. Who knows? I have had my fair share of great Vietnamese Pho in some of the best places in Southern California, and I was happy to stumble upon Pho Vu in Palm Desert with Yelp's help of course. Upon entering the humble, slightly darkened interior, we were greeted by very friendly staff. We took a seat at one of the booths and reviewed the laminated menu that included a few pictures for people like me who forgot their glasses. We ordered the Banh Mi Chicken Sandwich, a large Pho with rare steak, and the Canh Ga Chien (deep fried chicken wings). The Banh Mi was packed with delicious chicken and cilantro. This was the most packed with meat Banh Mi ever. The large Pho was very good, but the fried chicken wings stole the show. The garlic spiced, slightly spicy wings were amazing, and they were accompanied by pan fried onions and jalepenos. This dish was truly one of the best we have ever had. In regards to the service, it was great. They also had fresh iced green tea, which was delicious and refreshing. If you find yourself in the desert, stop by Pho Vu and order those wings! read more

Seems to be the only pho place around - while the #11 pho w/everything is ok, I can't recommend it for the price. Most places have a regular sized bowl and a larger one if you want more. Here, there's only one choice. Not much is given so probably the equivalent of others regular bowl. My husband and I love Pho Vu and come here when we're in town. The broth is excellent, but I've noticed the portion sizes are getting a lot smaller and the prices have sky rocketed. I now find myself debating on returning and learning to make this at home like I do with most of my food. For two teas, an order of very small spring rolls (they used to be much larger), 1 small bowl and 1 large bowl of Pho, I paid a whopping $42 and some change. For lunch... I gave a 4 start because of the food which was great been craving Pho for a while and my husband took me here .. we got our appetizers and pho quick which is great when you have a 2 year old. Just a few things that bothered a bit 1. we didn't see our sever the whole time he or other employees didn't come by to see if everything was ok. 2. We had our appetizer plates and empty water cups that didn't get filled or were taken off so we had a dirty table which we just put to the side to make space other employees passed by looked over and did nothing. 3. I was looking over after the menu to get something else for my son like a little ice cream or something sweet and when I looked up our check was already coming . She didn't bother to ask if we wanted something else or even as if we wanted our plates cleared off just a here you go .. My husband and I looked at each other and just gave the card and left .. Like I said the food was great the pho and appetizers were great and I just think the customer service should be better instead of them socializing and looking over and not doing there job! read more

Staff was friendly enough which is why they get more than a 1-star rating, but $30+ for a large bowl of pho with added meatballs and side order of springs rolls is NOT okay. By far the most expensive pho meal I've ever had and nowhere near the best tasting! I understand restaurants have suffered due to COVID and I support them by tipping more, but price gouging does not sit well with me. I ordered a small Pho Tai and my friend who is a vegetarian got the stir fried noodles with vegetables. I was pretty tired so I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The food came out first and my Pho was very tasty. My friend didn't love her noodles - said they were a bit bland but the veggies were good. I was visiting Palm Springs for a golf get away and found this little gem close to our condo. The restaurant is tucked away in a little strip mall. I only found it because of the sign that faces the main streets. Servers are SUPER friendly! I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, which was the large combination pho. It was packed with tons of goodies. The broth is the most important part of the Pho noodle soup, and it was okay. Not outstanding. But I enjoyed my meal, nonetheless. I also ordered a pair of shrimp spring rolls. 1st of all I have been coming here for almost 2 years and have always enjoyed the food, but on my last visit to Pho Vu. Apparently Covid guidelines are not important to Pho Vu. The Server delivered my food with his mask on his Chin. I then observed him cleaning multiple tables with out gloves. Then a family of 5 was seated. I observed him go take their order and go grab their drinks without using gloves or going to wash his hands. He then stuck his bare hand in the bean sprouts and mint leaves and put on a plate and deliver it to the table. At this point I was unsure how my food was handled and left. I asked to speak with a manager about what I observed. There was not a manager on site. When I explained to the cashier what I observed she didn't seem to care. Phò Vu is fantastic when I want some fresh, healthful food! I love the veggie phò with tofu. Veggies are blanched to perfection and portions are very satisfying. The best part is they're conveniently located near I-10, so I can grab a great take-out dinner on the way home and feel good about it! Today was no exception. I just recently visited this place again. Food was great but my gosh the staff there are the worst people ever. Why am I getting attitude from the staff when I order my food or ask for extra toppings?? I noticed when we received the check they added a mandatory tip?? What's the tip for?? They never refill drinks, always have attitude, always giving us ugly looks and etc. No tip for people that work like that. Plus at the end they ask for an extra tip?? I arrive 8:25 pm to this business before closure time which is 9:00 pm according their business schedule and my plan was for take out dinner however and according the person in charge (cashier) told me that the business close at 8:30 no 9:00 pm as they advertised.
