CHEAP meat! I'm always a bit weary of getting cheap meat in and Asian or Mexican restaurant and here it was. Yuck! The pork was very off and the chicken was hard with strange texture just like you would experience with cheap meat scraps. The peanut sauce was yucky, the shrimp in the spring rolls were not fresh, the chili oil was old, the green curry was watery flavorless and the place was overall unclean. Riding thru town and was hoping for my favorite Thai but it was closed so i settled for this. What a disappointment!! The salad roll was decent but the peanut sauce was weak. I ordered the green curry with chicken. Horrible!! Tasteless and watery. Absolutely no flavor. I don't think they used coconut milk. It was more like just straight water. Took home the leftovers to try and fix them at home. No hope. Just a nasty mess. Spent over $20 for bad food. We decided to try a new restaurant being new to Yelm and we found ourselves at Pho Yelm. It's a big restaurant with a lot of open space. The service was quick and friendly! The only complaint would be that we were not checked on after we received our food so we did not get refills on our drinks. The food was great! We ordered the egg rolls to start followed by the Combo Pho, the grilled chicken salad and the children's teriyaki rice platter. I was a little surprised by the menu with their "salads" as most Vietnamese restaurants I have been to do not refer to them as such. Normally I see them listed as Vermicelli Noodle bowls. Great atmosphere, always such a yummy go to when I'm not feeling well. Liberty was our waitress and she was so kind. She continued to constantly check on us and when we had a problem with the soda, she was very prompt and kind about it. Even made sure the soda was better when she brought back a new one and they just changed all the soda syrups too. So glad to see that they have more than one waitress working because I know it can get chaotic at times here especially during dinner. For sure will be returning. read more

We were in Yelm for a football tournament. We were hungry and decided to try Pho Yelm since it was close by. We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, 2 large bowls of pho, shrimp fried rice and my youngest son couldn't resist ordering the lychee boba. My husband got the special pho, all the different kinds of meats and he said it was okay. My son got the eye of round with extra meat and noodles and he finished it lol. The salad rolls were fresh and had a good ratio of meat, veggies and noodles. The egg rolls were tasty and glad it wasn't mushy. We actually got another order of the salad rolls and egg rolls halfway through our meal. The service was exceptional...friendly and attentive. Just need to get past the ambiance to enjoy their great food and service. We'll come back again if we are in the area. read more

The atmosphere was very good. My problem is with two times I've eaten here and I've eaten here many times. 2 times the chicken tasted off as in spoiled. The first time I complained and they were nice enough to give me a full refund. Then I ate there a few more times and had their green Curry chicken and rwo pieces were stuck together, and there was that spoiled nasty taste again. Fresh delicious food every time, always consistent, and the service is always kind and professional. The menu selection is great they offer Vietnamese sandwiches, a delicious tasting pho ( I am very picky about broth and they serve a delicious broth), and a variety of other rice and noodles dishes. I've been here 5 times now, order take out. This is the spot!! Exactly what I need in a small town when I'm deprived of some real delicious Vietnamese food. read more

If you ever go here you will be happy. The pot stickers and egg rolls are good and cooked olmost perfectly. The service is good the staff is nice. The Boba Tea is good they over add the Boba. The overall Ambiance of the place is nice. They have good lighting and everyone in the restaurant is very happy. Overall 4.5 on the rating. Would go again. Small note: this place is great for kids. The water cups are really cute they hav a little clear plastic lid they use a machine to administer on the cup and it has many cute animals for the kids to look at. read more

Not bad for food to-go! Came in to order their chicken pad thai to try and ended getting the Pad Thai combo (mixed steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp) two spring rolls and thai iced teas as well. The food came out in good time and were boxed well and the employee's were pleasant to talk to. My only thing to suggest was to have a spice range for the "spicy" dishes they have, i would've liked it spicer than they gave me. Honestly the food here is absolutely AMAZING! Everytime I come into the restaurant I know I'm going to get full seeing as their portions are pretty decently sized and full you up quickly. I must say the customer service is pretty good as well though I will say it can be hard to understand one of the waitstaff but he is incredibly sweet so I don't even mind. This place is good eats. I didn't know what to expect in Yelm but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was I was very impressed with the portion sizes. I was also impressed how they managed to keep the tables apart in this time of the pandemic for physical distancing. I wasn't over impressed with the service. The initial greeting was very friendly but we had a hard time getting them to bring our check and ended up going to the front counter to pay the bill. Maybe that's normal but I didn't see any mention of paying at the counter since we where seated for dinner. I will try the place again to try more of the Thai portion of the menu. read more

The place is beautiful it's got nice decore, but the only thing is the bathroom absolutely disgusting I mean really gross the ceilings were covered in some weird brownish substance it might have been chipped wood but it was gross. The toilet didn't flush, the sink was dirty and sink didn't even work well no paper towels and no toilet paper. And the bathroom was basically acrossed from the kitchen which can cause contamination from germs to your food your eating. Then I wanted to address the floors it's nasty in that bathroom it smells disgusting and let me tell you it smelt bad I mean it was so bad that I didn't even want to use it. It just makes me uncomfortable when I entered the bathroom it was absolutely filthy also it felt like I was in prison "never" going in that bathroom again it was so gross. It needs to be redone. Now the food it was pretty bad, the noodles were rubbery and the shrimp was overcooked and the flavors didn't go well it was not good. This restaurant has went so far downhill. Once they switched owners it seemed fine. People were complaining but I never had an issue until this last time. I door dashed since going in and picking up is a nightmare. My sandwich was drenched in sauce was a total mess. The pho had barely any onions and cilantro to add. I also ordered a medium salad and it came with literally no dressing the cup wasn't even filled up it was like a tablespoon if that of dressing and was a super small salad. My husband ordered something and received something different. The wait staff appear to be high school kids that don't seem to know the menu. Then there is the atmosphere. The broth is pretty much glorified dish water, and I mean that literally. You can smell the dish soap on the bowls and spoons. When I ate the noodles I literally tasted NOTHING. No beef, garlic, or any other robust flavors. There are two other pho places I go to where I legit just order broth to sip instead of coffee in the morning, so I know what good broth tastes like. This is a newer pho restaurant in Yelm. I figured I'd stop in since I've been to the few that we have in Lacey. I went in at around 5:45/6pm. The traffic going in the other direction was atrocious but I was heading back to Lacey and it was smooth sailing, but I stopped anyway. It wasn't busy at all. I think the pho will take a little bit to catch on in Yelm. There was the hostess, a smaller older lady (who appeared to be the cashier's mother) that seated me by the fan as they don't have air conditioning I believe. It's funny because the cashier/bubble tea lady asked me to pick my seat. I then sat down and then the hostess told me to sit by the fan as it was hot. I'm not really a stickler for hot vs cold so I would have say anywhere, but I just found it funny. I ordered a strawberry bubble tea with mixed jelly and a #14 Tofu pho with rice noodles and chicken broth. The main difference between the pho is the beef or chicken broth and then rice or egg noodles so there are a lot of options. The menu (not the one in the photos) has pictures of every item so you know what it looks like possibly before it comes out. I think that's a nice touch. The menu is large and the photos are big so you can see everything and not have to squint. The bubble tea, I thought, was amazing. Perfectly blended and thick. It did not melt quick which I don't like in other places that make bubble tea. So that was great that it stayed thick. Then the pho was brought by the chef, an older gentleman who appeared to be the cashier's father. It was super hot! Super boiling hot which is excellent. I will say that after I added the normal accouterments (Thai basil, hoisin, sriracha, soy sauce, bean sprouts, lime juice), the broth tasted a lot better. I think I will go with beef broth next time, because the chicken broth was.....well....different. Not bad different, but unlike I've tasted pho in the past. The pho was very good though. I kind of missed the baby bok choy, but they added new vegetables that I've never had in pho like celery and red peppers. Overall, the service was nice and very speedy. I may stop by in the future but I'm kind of loyal to Pho Vy in Lacey right now, so we'll see. I've changed regular pho places before ... sorry Pho Mania :( read more
