Pho 102 in Tumwater offers a wide variety of dishes. The restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious, and I didn't have to wait long for a table. I ordered the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl, which was a generous portion filled with noodles, vegetables, and chicken. It was good, but not exceptional. The chicken lacked a distinct grilled flavor. However, the standout feature of the dish was the sweet fish sauce. It was incredibly delicious and definitely the star of the dish. The service at Pho 102 was mediocre. While not unfriendly, it lacked the warmth and attentiveness that makes a dining experience enjoyable. I had to get up and ask for a takeout container and my bill, which made me feel like I was forgotten after my order was delivered. An offer to refill my water or a check in to see how the dish was would have made a big difference. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll return to Pho 102. There are many other pho joints in the area, and I'm more likely to try a place that offers better service and a friendly smile. read more

Haven't been here recently, but have been going many years. Just sent a coworker there and they loved it so I imagine it's still great. Consistently great pho. Broth is flavorful and a nice balance. Delicious - just like how I remember from my last visit years ago. Of course the only test for a Vietnamese restaurant is their pho so we got the pho special and it was excellent - you can really taste the aromatics with a really nice balance - not a strong star anise flavor which of places make it too strong and overpowering. Then we got the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl- another delicious dish. The nauc mong sauce was just right -again, not too sweet or salty which is also tricky with this sauce. (In general that's what Vietnamese food is all about - getting the right sweetness to off set the salty fish sauce flavor. In any case, this chef knows the secret recipe!) The owner is really sweet and welcoming and this is located in a shopping center so plenty of parking. Come with a hungry tummy, leave with a happy belly! Enjoy! read more

This place used to be one of my go to's but first my husband and I came in before any other tables and the waiter went to everyone that came in after us and we had our menus ready to order and everything.. Second I wanted my sprouts for my pho and didn't get them until way later... And third my water was completely empty and the guy never came back to check... and it wasn't even busy only 4 parties inside.. so you guys should really try to do better!!! read more

Disgusting food... the pho soup was very yellow around the bowl.... a sign that it's not homemade and full of grease. It literally tasted oily too and had barely any flavor. The noodles tasted very starchy and weird. There were so many flies around this place.... The guy serving us was like a robot when talking to us, not much personality. When he finished taking our order and went into the "kitchen" (aka area with a curtain) he was coughing up and hacking up a storm... it was pretty bad. I would not recommend this place. read more

Love love love this place. I moved to Olympia recently and am so glad I found Pho 102. The craziest thing though, I don't usually get pho here!! I love their Bun Bo Hue and Bun Mang Vit. The Bun Bo Hue is a spicy beef noodle soup with a lot of lemongrass flavors. Its seriously spicy! They are not afraid to season it. It does miss out on the pork hock but does come with the pork blood. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The other dish I usually get here is the Bun Mang Vit, a bamboo duck noodle soup. It comes with a cabbage salad on the side with some bone in duck. Such a delicious dish when I'm not feeling spicy. Sometimes I like to get their crispy egg noodles when I'm not in that soupy mood. That's rare but its good also. I always get the seafood add tofu for some extra protein! read more

The food is so good here that I almost hate to give away my favorite spot for Pho. The spring rolls are simply marvelous. They have shrimp and pork inside as well as basil and noodles. The service here is always friendly and they are able to adapt to food allergies without any fuss. The ambiance is nicer than most Pho locations as this one moves to is present space just two years ago. So, this is the place for Pho is you want to enjoy a really good bowl of various noodle bowls. They need to do a better job of reporting ingredients, especially allergens. Ordered the pork bao bun. No mention of shrimp in. Yet there were huge chunks of shrimp. My husband is allergic to shellfish. Glad he didn't bite into it. I ordered the duck vermachelli bowl. No mention of there being peanuts on top. Yet there were tons on there. I got to finally try out this Pho restaurant this last weekend. I had the Pho 102 special (meatball, tendon, beef, etc.) and a fresh tofu spring roll. The broth of the pho was OUTSTANDING. The sauce for the fresh spring roll was a bit thick for my taste and I loved how peanutty it was. The service was swift and pleasant. And the inside of the restaurant was so beautiful. Pho 102 is so far the best Vietnamese restaurant in Olympia area I've tried. I don't mean others are not as good as Pho 102, but variety wise, it is the best. My family loves to eat Bun Bo Hue, Pho 102 has the dish and it is tasty. As well as Pork Chop rice dish. Bathroom is big and clean, I feel safe to take kids for dinning in. We ate lunch at Pho 102 last week and it was our first visit to this restaurant. The dining room was spacious and nicely decorated.. Our service was excellent. My husband ordered the house crispy egg noodle with tofu and vegetables and I chose the special vermicelli with grilled pork, egg roll, and shrimp. We split a fresh spring roll for an appetizer. It arrived quickly and it was so fresh that the shrimp inside was still warm from being cooked. It was delicious with their peanut sauce. Our lunches arrived shortly afterwards and we were very impressed with the presentation and were totally wowed by how good they tasted. Our over all experience was wonderful. I rarely come to Pho 102 because I'm a big Pho Hoa fan, even though they are located further away. Finally we came in because we were running errands nearby and I'm so glad I did. Sis tried the pork with rice and she liked it enough. We both had the crispy eggroll and it was a solid entry. The real winning bite though was the bahn mi. I wasn't expecting the meat to be so saucy, but it was such a winner. Uggh, now that I'm thinking about it, I want another bahn mi in my mouth right now. We still had some of the fish sauce from the egg rolls, so I dipped my sandwich in there and it was even better. Plus this place is great. Lots of tables, TVs all over the place, and during lunchtime it was so quiet because all the patrons are kinda just chilling out as they eat. We never got our bill, but it turns out if you just go to the cashier and point out your table, he'll ring you up. Ammmmazzzzing. The downside? They're so far away from me! We stopped in here for lunch on the way home from a long weekend at Little Creek Casino. I really wanted pho, and this happened to be the closest one to the casino on the way back to the house. We went on an early Monday afternoon and they had a good amount of people there on their lunch break. We didn't have to wait though, as it's a good sized restaurant and there were plenty of available tables. Service was quick and friendly. I went with the well-done brisket pho and my husband did the same. This is probably some of the best pho I've had in a while. The broth was so goooood - so flavorful, NOT sweet, just all around really good. Cuts of meat were great as well. Great bowl of pho. Excellent quality Vietnamese cuisine. They cook the Pho for 55 hours no shortcuts. My favorite is the brisket and meatball beef Pho. The egg rolls and spring rolls are also amazing. This Vietnamese restaurant is a favorite with many locals, great food and service, plus a good selection on the menu. It was fun to come in and celebrate their grand opening. Pho 102, has nice decor and a new look. They still have all the old favorites, assorted pho, vermicelli dishes, egg noodles with chicken, shrimp and vegetables. You can't go wrong with the curry or lemongrass chicken. It's also nice to have a variety of condiments at the table, so you can flavor your meal to suit yourself. Try this restaurant if you haven't.
