I came here with my family one night because I did not want to eat Chinese food! The service was pretty swift but like Mike L said, it just takes a long time to get from the kitchen to your table. When we went, it was a little late, around 8pm there were only 3 tables in there (including us). We ordered some pho and some rice plates along with rolls. Everything tasted good, not exceptionally good, but pretty good. What I did like about this place is that it was definitely clean (compared to other pho places... esp. in the Westminster area) but the iced water had a weird taste to it (like refrigerator taste --- ewwww) so I suggest getting tea or one of their drinks. There's a thread that was started on the search for best pho in West LA area. If it was about Southeastern part of LA, my money is on Pho 2000. This restaurant is located in the same plaza as the new Ranch 99 and Ten Ten restaurant. Plenty of parking space in that plaza and the place was easy to find. The place has a decco design like you were in Ikea. When you enter the restaurant, there is a big flat screen TV to watch music videos, sports games, or whatever the owner of that place wants to watch with his patrons. The service was good. Fast and friendly. The only thing I might draw a little attention was that food is not as quick in getting it out, but I won't hold it against the server, but with the cook. I loved the spring rolls or summer rolls. It's a must when you order the appetizers. It's like a Vietnamese sushi roll. It's crunch on the inside, but soft on the outside. Their rice dish was pretty good. Try to order it with grilled pork and egg rolls. The Grilled Chicken with rice is awesome as well. Now let's get to the nitty gritty. The Pho is awesome in this place as well. I ordered their house combo. It basically consist of Meat ball, Rare steak, Brisket, Tendon, Tripe, Onion, Cilantro, Green onions. The noodle is great. I inpale that thing in a quick swoosh. Absolutely delicious. They also have other combinations you can choose from in their menu. The price is more than reasonable. There is no real glaring bad moments in this place. I guess if the food was coming out a little faster, I would have gave it a higher rating. I'll adjust it when they improve next time. I've come in to this store several times because I'm a big fan of the shopping area nearby. I got the oxtail pho (both times) and it was delicious! It comes with a bowl of broth and the meat in a separate and smaller bowl. I'll admit, you can't really go wrong with pho. But you also can't really go wrong with a free dessert. Sweet tapioca pudding, yum! Now beyond the food, the service was excellent. I'm always promptly seated and given a menu. One time I came in with my iPad (yes, I was being pretentious carrying it around but I wanted to play my Snoopy game!), and the server asked if I needed the internet password. This place is located near the 99 Ranch supermarket. I've been wondering if this is a chain as I remember going to a place with the same name in the Garden Grove area. Decided to give it a try as I was in the area. The place itself is not too big, but a fair amount of nice tables and they had a flatscreen tv with the Monday Night Football game on. Menu is typical vietnamese: pho, bun, rice, etc. Tried out the pan-fried noodles with beef and vegetables. Now I don't know if this is a traditional vietnamese dish, but I thought I'd try something other than the typical pho and bun. Flat rice noodles were a little overcooked, but beef was decent and there was a ton of bok choy. Decent, but nothing special. The free dessert was a nice little bonus. Especially since the dish was only about $7. Worth a try if you are in the area and looking for something inexpensive. read more

I wasn't impressed with this forgettable place. It was too hot outside to order pho, so I went with the pork chop & egg plate. The pork chop was really confusing. First off, the piece was a lot smaller than other places. Then half of it was inedible due to the meat being too chewy/tough and it was mostly bone. I realize pork chops come with bones, but they need to serve 2 pieces if they notice that the meat/bone ratio is off. The few pieces of meat that I was able to eat was good though. The fried egg was perfectly fried, over medium - exactly how I love my eggs. I know it's a simple thing, but it IS possible to mess up a fried egg. That was served atop a heaping portion of white rice. The pickled veggies were good. Highlight of the meal: the egg rolls. These babies came out piping hot and crispy. Very meaty. I hate how some places stuff their egg rolls with all kinds of veggies and very little meat. It was a shame that the lettuce that accompanied the egg rolls looked a bit dirty. I love to wrap and dip my egg rolls! Service was okay. I don't think the waitress said a single word to us actually. She just took our order and brought out the food and check when we requested. And they placed us in the corner far away from other patrons when they noticed our baby stroller. I was a little offended since our little angel was on her best behavior that day. Oh well.. Ingredients were pretty fresh (tripe, beef, pork, veggies), but the actual soup and full taste wasn't as satisfying as other pho places I've been to. Not enough sauce? Not enough spices? I'm not sure, but it just seemed to be missing something. Bf had the fried noodles before. Awful. There was so much sauce in there to render a pair of kidneys useless. He didn't even finish 1/3 of it. =( Water tasted chlorinated the first time we were there. It was fine the second time we went (a half-year later). Not sure what that was about. Decided to try another Pho place so stopped by a couple of days ago. Pho 2000 is located in the same plaza that houses Ranch 99 and Ten Ten Seafood so parking generally gets tight during peak lunch hours but you should be able to get a spot closer to the Ranch 99 side and then walk over. At the peak lunch hour they seemed to be pretty busy with the restaurant about 60% full. Upon entering I was not immediately greeted but had to wait for a couple of minutes before being acknowledged and shown to a table. On the table they had some lunch special's advertised which looked like a combination of katsu and pho. I checked with my server on this but he was not able to communicate at all and I could not confirm if the special included chicken katsu. Anyway decided to go with the large combination pho ($6.99) which basically has many different types of beef in the broth along with noodles. The food was out in under five minutes. Taste wise I did not like this Pho at all. It was definitely under seasoned and almost tasteless. I would rate it even below what I had at Pho Little Saigon on South Street a couple of days ago. Even the meat in the Pho was sub-standard, specially the meat balls which were really hard. I think I have a new winner for the worst Pho in Cerritos. My advise would be that if you are looking for decent Pho in the area go over to Pho Pioneer that is located in the adjoining plaza - you will spend a buck less and get a great bowl of Pho even though the décor of the place is a bit dated or visit Pho 4 U over at South street for a great bowl of Pho at the same price. Some of the plusses include providing a small cup of free desert at the end of the meal and taking cards without minimums. The desert was highly appreciated as it helped cool my mouth off from all the heat of the hot sauce that I had dunked into the broth, but apart from that they failed miserably on the Pho as well as customer service which needs to significantly improve. Had a horrible experience tonight. The service is so ridiculously bad I had to write this review. I'm not one to bash on others, but I'd like for the management of this restaurant to wake up and do better. We went in as a party of six. We waited for a couple minutes and one server walked by. She didn't acknowledge us or made any effort to greet us. We just waited, a couple minutes later another server passed by, again no greeting or acknowledgment. She kept staying near the cash register. It was a good five minutes before I actually went up to her and asked to be seated. She said only outdoor. She told me to wait a few minutes. All this time there were a couple other parties behind us. They didn't get greeted either. Finally another customer went up and asked for the patio seating. She took them in and told me I need to wait because she thought I wanted indoor. So terrible! Finally, my husband had enough and said we're going somewhere else! I don't know what happened to the other parties behind us or whether they stayed or not. I can't say much about the food because we didn't eat there. The customer service was absolutely disgusting. Please take your business elsewhere until these people learn how to run a decent if not good enough business. We'll never set foot inside this restaurant again. EVER. I would give this restaurant a 0 star if I could. To the management there: please train your employees to actually acknowledge customers who are paying to eat at your restaurant. Use to go to the Pho down the street and their quality is not always consistent, especially with the broth. This Pho 2000 is always generous with meats and seafood. Next time I have too remember to ask for my broth piping hot, it does cool fast if you start conversing too much instead of eating. Brought a few friends and they agreed with my assessment.
