Sushi and the ramen was really good! I recommend 10/10 Service was good too! Environment is clean as well.

My favorite ramen / sushi spot to go to. Every one is always so welcoming and nice each time we visit. This place's ramen is my favorite, very flavorful. I usually have them make it spicy and it has a nice little kick to it. There is a wide selection of sushi rolls to pick from and love that they have specials on them. No matter what we order , we always enjoy our food. Forgot to take a picture of my ramen last time we went .

They have 50% off some rolls on the menu, which is a good deal. However, I felt like most of the rolls on that menu had the same or similar ingredients, so there was little variety. The rolls were fat, but didn't have much flavor and the fish was bland. The service was just okay.

    Gyoza.

I went there to dine in and the lunch specials were really good. A lot of rolls were 50% off and they a combo meal options as well. So I ordered Tampopo Ramen set with Gyoza and the Fire Salmon Roll. The ramen was excellent the broth was flavorful, the noodles were perfect, the sprouts were a nice touch, and the meat was cooked properly. The roll was also good with the salmon being good but not overwhelmingly spicy. This place is solid for lunch and I would come again.

The food was AWESOME (Thanks Chef) filling, delicious, cooked with love . The ambiance was awesome we were the 1st to arrive so we felt as if we'd gotten extra great customer service from Johnathan "Johnny" & Jacob they were awesome, patient and knowledgeable. The cook was great!!! Today, I went to the Cerritos location Gardena is great as well...

If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant with various options, try this place. They a menu for rolls that is always 50% off. They have good selection of appetizers. Servers are great and attentive. The restaurant is pretty small but we got seated right away at all times when we visit.

Amazing experience! I accidentally ordered a non-vegan ramen, and TJ handled it with so much kindness and patience. He checked in throughout the whole meal, and the service felt genuinely thoughtful. The veggie ramen and sushi were really good, and the entire staff was friendly and attentive. I'll be back for sure -- shoutout to TJ and the whole crew!

My parents and I love Tampopo and their lovely and affordable lunch menu. The portions are huge. The food is delicious. The service is always friendly. The ambiance is a little stale inside but nothing uncomfortable. Never had a problem finding parking.

Once upon a time, another Yelp-worthy find! We stopped here for some delicious ramen and sushi rolls. We had the chicken ramen, spicy ramen, and a crunch roll. The ramen was hardy and delicious - they do not skimp on the noodles. The sushi roll was great! The end.

Parking is a pain in the butt at this location so expect to wait sometime due to all the other small shops in this plaza. Once you get inside it's worth the wait. We were greeted by a young women (forgot to catch her name) but we told her it was our first time and she broke down the menu and explained what was popular. I ordered a chicken ramen & side of shrimp tempura. My friend ordered salmon bento box. Everything came out hot and fresh & was excellent except I found a hair in my soup BUT I pointed it out to the waiter and he apologized instantly took it away and brought me out a fresh brand new one. (This is a real review with real experiences.) no questions asked and even discounted the bowl which was not needed. Accidents happen and I was thankful for that. Regardless everything went well except the parking again is a pain in the butt. This place is definitely a little hidden gem in the wall and I like the inside of it. Well decorated with banners and you can see the sushi being made. Thank you Tampopo for the excellent service. Accidents happen but they definitely made up for it.

Located in a busy strip mall, this gem of a Japanese restaurant is worth the trip. They always make you feel welcome, and have a great selection of sushi rolls, ramen, bento, sashimi, and udon. Plenty of side dish options such as tempura, edamame, California roll, and sushi. You can choose from multiple entrees such as salmon, mackerel, chicken teriyaki, and my favorite the sesame chicken.

First time I came was 6 years ago! (Pic with me in glasses) Wow! The same cute guy brought me back on a date a few months ago. And today, was super cold so I craved ramen again and he brought me back here. Awwww! I like this place! Keep forgetting to get sushi though but it's our new thing to get the lunch special with dumplings + a soft boiled egg + a Japanese beer ("Sapporo")...everything was delicious! Great service! Wasn't crowded but my date said it gets crowded usually. In the middle of eating, people started pouring in. lol! That's when you know the food is good! Will be back again! Next time, I'll try the sushi again! Hope y'all had a good Christmas!

Since most places were closed, I searched Apple Maps and found Umaya Ramen, about 20 minutes from Long Beach and open until 1 AM. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we were seated right away. The menu looked great, and I was excited to see Shirley Temples on the drink menu. We ordered the Pork Belly Oshi and the Rock Shrimp Tempura to start. The Pork Belly Oshi was good, though I wish the rice had been crispier. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was delicious--the creamy spicy sauce was so good. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (no mushrooms because my boyfriend is allergic) and added the small Chashu Rice Bowl for $5. The broth was amazing--rich and creamy without being too heavy. The rice bowl was good too, though I wish the mayo on top had a little spice. Adding chili oil and sriracha fixed that. My boyfriend got the Chicken Shoyu Ramen, and after stealing a sip of his broth, I can confirm it was delicious too. The service was excellent. The host was super friendly and gave manager/owner vibes, our server was great, and other staff members checked on us throughout the meal. Our bill was around $70 for two people, including appetizers, drinks, ramen, and the extra rice bowl. We even had leftovers to bring home, so I thought it was a great value. Overall, a really solid late-night spot with great service and food. We'd definitely come back.

Went inside and was immediately seated. They have a lunch special where you get either a free drink or miso soup with your meal. I ended up ordering the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and added an egg, with a miso soup. The miso soup came fairly quickly, but was pretty salty - think I had to drink about half my water glass after it. The ramen came a little bit afterwards - the broth was ok, it didn't feel rich enough with pork flavor and also was a little salty. The noodles were just ok also. I think the best part was the egg and chashu. The egg was well made and tasty, while the chashu is a bit more on the meaty side vs fatty side (which I prefer). They do only give you two pieces though. The price overall wasn't bad for ramen but I think the saltiness was a bit too much for my taste. They do have other things like curry that look pretty good, perhaps that would be the order if I end up here again.

I then asked if I could opt out of the fee, and they flat out told me, "Oh no, we don't allow that anymore." The staff completely washed their hands of the forced overcharge. The reality is that this restaurant is just adding frivolous fees on top of already expensive, overpriced food and drink. It is incredibly disgusting that management wants to pass their extra operational expenses directly onto the customer because they refuse to pay their employees what they are worth. They ran out of the lobster tail and the ribs bowls, which is fine on Valentine's Day. However, they also ran out of basic ingredients. Where are the 2 egg slices, and where are the other fresh garnishes (mushroom or bean sprouts). One of the saddest looking and basic ramen bowls that I've ever experienced, one level above instant ramen (just the pork and excess noodles). Speaking of pork slices, they need to be less firm and softer. They also ran out of wooden spoons. How? We ate with take-out chopsticks with no available plastic spoons. Who is running this branch? 2. Service was standard. 3. Ambiance has nicely decorated theme. However, restaurant and seating area is small and crosse crossed and lacks privacy. You can hear the next table conversation. Would not care so much if the food were excellent. Not worth the tag.
