The best late night comfort food! Soup Shop has good food, and they're open late. It's no wonder there's always people waiting for a table outside. We were craving some warm pho on a cold night, and Soup Shop sounded like the perfect spot. The plaza Soup Shop is located in is usually super crowded, but if you go after 9pm when most of the other restaurants and shops are closed, you'll find plenty of parking. Write your name down on the waiting list at the front podium and then wait for your name to be called. They have a few seats to wait right outside the door. Once we were seated, we were given menus. I really like that their menu has a lot of large photos of the dishes, so you know what you're getting! Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly despite being busy. For appetizers, we ordered the Crunchy Pork "Bao" since it sounded unique. Inside the bao is pork shoulder, mushroom, Vietnamese sausage, and quail egg. The outside has a thin, perfectly crispy layer that gives a nice little crunch when you bite into it. Really enjoyed these and would recommend! We also got the Crusted Parmesan Cauliflower. Not sure what's in the sauce, but it's sweet, tangy, and delicious! It's also topped with fried onion, cilantro, cucumber, and parmesan cheese. Also a winner! For entrees, we got the Chicken Pho and the Pho Ribeye. For the chicken Pho, you can get it with thigh or breast meat. I got it with breast meat, and they gave a good amount of meat! Stopped by Soup Shop during my lunch hour after feeling cold at work and was craving something warm and comforting. I ordered the pho brisket along with the crispy Vietnamese egg rolls (chả giò) through Yelp for pickup and drove out to grab it myself. The broth had really good flavor and definitely hit the spot once I warmed it back up at work. The brisket portions were generous, and the egg rolls were crispy, flavorful, and probably my favorite part of the meal. By the time I got back to work, the pho had cooled down a bit, so I did have to reheat it, and I noticed some grease collecting on top of the soup after it sat for a while. Out of all the businesses that exist in this small plaza in Cerritos, Soup Shop has to be one of the best. Walking up to the front of the restaurant, I felt a little uncomfortable because there were so many people waiting for a table outside. I put name down for two and was told it would be a 25 minute wait but didn't even end up waiting the whole 25, they had the table ready pretty quick. After sitting down, we both ordered our pho and the food was out in less than ten minutes. I had the combination and my friend ordered the oxtail with a bone on the side. They were both amazing. THE BAD... a couple things .. 1 i arrived around 9pm.. there was a line outside in a cold night waiting to go dine in..so obviously I put my name on the waiting list... it took around 30 mins to get seated .. so im in around 9:30-ish seated ..took a while but got my order taken... waited a while to get our food but im not complaining..that just means theyre making it from scratch ..I totally respect that.. but here's my issues .. 1 Soup Spill on the floor..it was there when I got in.. it was still there when I left..no effort to clean it..the Staff just walked over it over and over and over. I took a pic that im attaching and hopefully you can see it. 2... a Super Busy Dine in restaurant that remained open but with a Not Working Bathroom.. thats a Health Code Violation and everyone knows that.. they should have switched to take out under California Law but remained Open for Busy Dine in. When asked about the Bathroom.. they said they weren't going to be able to get it fixed until Tommorow and I know theres plenty of 24 hour Bathroom Plummers but they just chose to make business over following the Law. Health departments (like Los Angeles County Department of Public Health) interpret and enforce those sections like this: If a dine-in restaurant has no working restroom, it's not in compliance with §§114250 and 114276 If the issue isn't immediately fixable, it can rise to a health/sanitation risk So inspectors may require the business to: Stop dine-in service, or Close entirely, depending on severity "Takeout only" is basically a workaround allowed by inspectors, not a line written verbatim in the law. im not dropping this..sorry From what i described: They knew the restroom was out of order Told me it wouldn't be fixed until the next day after I had already ordered and was waiting a while for my food.. He did not ask for this. At first we thought they gave him an egg noodle replacement - after looking back at the menu, there is no such replacement. The noodles themselves were soggy and overinflated as they are not supposed to be in a broth. The wait staff also ignored us the whole meal, did not check in to ask if everything was alright but they would ask the tables around us. The Pho selection was amazing! the menu HAS PICTURES! this was super helpful on ordering... I had the chicken wings and the Prime Rib Pho. the meat was on the side like a stir fry in a skillet. Yes, the photo matched the food that came out. And speaking about the dining area, the decor was definitely different from your normal pho joints. A+ on the food here. read more

Absolutely loved their garlic fries,came with a green savory dip. Not pictured is the brisket pho I got, felt very clean and fresh tasting :) The indoor deco is super modern and bright. Service was also very quick and attentive. read more

Really really good. I only have good things to say about this place. Actually, I think my only gripe is that they seat us so close to other people when on the right side of the restaurant, but that's okay. The food really does make up for this. The menu is really nice and has a bunch of pictures, and the restaurant decor makes it feel like you're almost eating fine dining in a way. It's all well put together with the lighting and all. I love the fried chicken... it's probably my favorite dish here. Highly recommend! read more
