Woke up craving pho and some of my usual places were closed so we tried pho51 and loved it! I got the bunbohue which was out of this world! The spicy lemongrass is one of my favorite flavor profiles. It was superb and would absolutely come here for this again! Others in my party had regular pho, japanese ramen, general tsos, and thai crispy chicken. I had a bite of the general tsos and it was delicious, one of the best I've had! Our server was great too. There's a sign in the door that saigon88 which i frequent often because it's near my office is their sister restaurant. Great place, check it out!

Cute cafe with lots of plants and bookshelves full of books! They have WiFi for you to use as well! We ordered the pho combo (beef balls and beef) the broth was so flavorful! The best pho I've had here in Pittsburgh! We also got the com deluxe which is a rice dish with pickled veggies and cucumbers. It comes with marinated pork, chicken and sausage. The marinate was delicious and it was grilled perfectly. They also have banh mi! Which was great, toasted baguette with all the fixings! Services is always great here! We've gone 3 times in 2 weeks!

Crab rangoons, firecracker shrimp, spring rolls

You walk into Pho51 and are greeted by a cozy atmosphere and calm music. The large glass windows provide a lot of natural light while still blocking the hum of route 51. To drink, We enjoyed crystal clear ice water and a variety of boba teas. We were unimpressed by the appetizers. We had crab rangoons, firecracker shrimp, and complementary spring rolls. We didn't care for any of them, unfortunately. Would not recommend this place for the classic Asian apps. Fortunately, our entrees were EXCELLENT. They were massive portions with a fair amount of protein. Each bite was packed with flavor. You can order your dish spicy or not. The sauce on my Shaken Beef dish was excellent, with crispy and colorful sautéed veggies. The ramen bowls are beautifully arranged. Our waiter was attentive, despite being on duty by himself, running the entire front of the restaurant alone.

    Vegetable soup (phenomenal!)

This was my first time eating it. I got the vegetable soup (LOVED IT!), general tso's chicken while my friend got the shaken steak. Soooo good! We split a BanhMi which was also very delicious and spicy. It was my friend's first time having their food and he love it so much that he said he will be taking his mother there as well as ordering again grub hub for delivery. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying more of their items.

Decent selection and a good late night spot if you're looking to get a drink or something…read more I don't have anything overly negative to say and it's a solid choice, but it didn't blow me away and the food itself was very Westernized. Compared to other Japanese places in the city, this is definitely one of the more American-forward, I think. I had the 唐揚げ (karaage) and the すき焼き丼 (sukiyaki don), and both felt like something you would find at any seafood place. Not bad by any means! Just very Westernized. The すき焼き丼 especially, very minimal compared to everything else, especially for the price. Thats another thing to mention--the prices are quite high, so just keep this in mind!

That translated into a very restrictive perimeter around my hotel from which I chose this fusion spot for dinner. The menu was quite a hodgepodge of familiar Asian plates. I have to admit though when I saw ramen and stir-fries on the same menu, I was wondering how well they do it all. I tried two items starting with the $13 Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The chicken was stir-fried with carrot, mushroom, and scallion in an excess of brown sauce. They provided enough iceberg lettuce to handle it, but the sauciness really let me down (Photo 9). The second dish, the Sichuan String Beans with Shrimp, was better but still overshadowed by whatever sauté seasoning they used quite liberally (Photo 10). Fortunately the side of white rice helped offset the uneven flavor (Photo 8). It was all middling at best. Our server was friendly and asked general questions while giving us ample time to look make decisions without feeling rushed. We ordered a dragon roll and a rainbow roll. Lots of seating, the restaurants was warm on a cold night and although busy it wasn't very loud. Started with some oolong tea and edamame followed by three rolls which was way more than I could eat but I wanted the variety. The eel was tender and flavorful but the star was the first date roll which was covered in spicy tuna. The Philly roll was good but I probably didn't need it but sometimes you just want the taste. The wasabi was not a hot as I expected. I used much larger portions to get the expected result. Nothing like a good sinus burn. Otherwise everything was great. The staff kept close tabs on what I needed and how things were tasting without being obnoxious. Highly recommend.
