We were able to come in on a pirates game day without a reservation for lunch. The apps were really yummy although the karage chicken came with the option of Japanese mayo or spicy mayo and my friend said both which was a dollar more and the Japanese mayo didn't really add to the dish, I'd recommend just sticking with he spicy mayo for flavor. The salt and pepper tofu was a standout and I wish I just got three more orders of that and to consist of my main. Ramen was good, I liked that the mushrooms were seasoned prior but the eggs were not jammy.

Food came out so quickly, service was great and great place to catch up with friends and hangout. So good!! We got the Braised Chicken Ramen and the Shoyu Tare. It only took 10-15 minutes for our food to come out which was great because we went during our lunch break

I visited The Yuzu Kitchen in Pittsburgh for the first time and immediately loved the ambiance. The decor is beautiful with cherry blossoms hanging from the ceiling that make the space feel really warm and special. The overall setup of the restaurant is gorgeous and definitely Instagram worthy. When it came to service, I'm not sure if they were short staffed or just having an off day, but we ended up waiting a bit for our server to come over. He seemed overwhelmed, and it showed. When we asked for recommendations, he was a little short, which my whole family picked up on. The moment that really threw us off was when my niece said she wanted a Shirley Temple. Instead of just saying they had their own version, he corrected her and told her it was called "Please Be Quiet." She thought he was literally telling her to be quiet, which made things awkward. She ended up ordering it, but the drink was super sour and not what she expected, so we returned it and just asked for Sprite and grenadine. For food, my family ordered ramen and really enjoyed it. I went with the yellow curry. It was good, but I wish it had a bit more spice and flavor. For appetizers we got gyoza, edamame, and spring rolls, all of which we liked. Overall, while the service wasn't what we hoped for, the food was solid and the atmosphere is beautiful. I would be willing to give this place another try because the potential is definitely there.

The lala fried rice might be my new fave thing on the menu!! It was just the right amount of spicy! I also love the bok choy I got a small portion since I was on my lunch break.

They squeezed us in before the dinner rush. Next time we will make a reservation. The service was responsive. I had the braised chicken Ramen and I would get it again. The chicken was tender. Ambiance was intimate and clean. Hopefully next time we are not near the door.

This place is super well decorated, staff were nice, and it was pretty busy when we went. I thought the ramen was just okay. The broth wasn't super flavorful and the noodles were a bit overcooked in my opinion. Instead of chewy they were very soft. The pork belly comes in one long strip which is a bit hard to chew, it would be nicer if it was cut into pieces. The best thing about this was the egg. Waitress was nice but service is a little slow. However the food does come out pretty quickly since they have food runners. My friend did not get her one appetizer that she ordered though and was charged for it.

Great service and food. The Island rice was delicious. I was a bit surprised they didn't have a lunch special since they're in Downtown Pittsburgh. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more menu items.

We came here for a private event. The bartender downstairs was very attentive and she did great serving our group of 25. The restaurant was clean and the drinks were delicious! We went upstairs and ordered food. Service was very quick. The wait staff wasn't quite as present though so it took a long time to get our check. We also had to get chopsticks and sauces ourselves. Maybe that's how it's suppose to be? No one told us so I have no idea. Took a while for our drinks (water) to be refilled. The waitress wasn't really around so we couldn't ask for service. The servings were generous. The food was good. I did feel like the tofu was a bit salty. I would probably recommend going there for the bar, possibly the food depending on what you order.

I've only been here for lunch, but it is one of our favorite spots. Excellent flavor in all of their dishes. The service is always good, despite being busy every time we go (get a reservation - even for lunch). My one note on Yuzu is that you get a lot of veggies, but less protein than other Asian restaurants, despite the overall portion size being large. The atmosphere is a little upper scale relative to most Asian restaurants in the area.

Came here for lunch with coworkers and it was SO DELICIOUS!! We had a reservation so we got sat immediately and then food came out super fast! Super cute little spot and I will absolutely be coming back. We all got a decent amount of food for the price ($15 for the chicken stir fry at lunch) and all of us finished every bite because it was that good.

This was my first time in downtown Pittsburgh, and I only had a few hours before a show. Yuzu was just a six-minute walk from my hotel, and their chicken ramen was calling my name. The interior was a cool blend of hip-hop and Japanese-inspired decor, with a long extended bar and plenty of table seating. The vibe was great, and they played a lot of late 2000s to early 2010s hip-hop, which I really enjoyed. I visited with a group of three, and we all ordered different types of ramen. I got the chicken ramen, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was tender and tasty--though be cautious, as there were some small bones. The ramen comes with a pre-prepared boiled egg. While I would have preferred a freshly boiled egg, it wasn't a big issue. My friends also really enjoyed their meals. Overall, this was a fantastic first experience. The food was incredible, and I'd love to return if I'm ever back in Pittsburgh to try more of their menu, especially their extensive drink options. Easy five out of five stars--I'll definitely be back!

    Stir Fry Udon

The vibe inside could have been noon or 6pm, there was only one window at the front, and it made great ambiance. Stir fry udon was especially delicious, the noodles were sooo chewy and sweet. And the steak was tender. I took off points for the service. Our server was very nice but we were rushed out the door even though (not exaggerating) we were the only ones in there. They gave us boxes 2 minutes into our meal while we still had almost all the food on our plates. The check was delivered before my friend's beer was 1/3 gone. The staff kept returning. Drinks selection was extensive.

I was part of a group of 10 on a Tuesday night. They were able to take a reservation and accommodate when we added two people. Menu had a lot of really great options. I decided on the sukiyaki rice bowl. It was very good and I added the chili oil, which gave it a nice kick. My only negative are the water glasses. I don't drink, so just had water throughout the meal. The glasses are a little larger than a shot glass and I had to refill it over and over. Luckily they had bottles on the table to refill. Overall, very good and I would go back to try more on the menu.

We sat outside, which was first come first serve. It took awhile for anyone to approach us but I was in the restaurant industry for some time so I surely realize it happens for many reasons ! My friend ordered two speciality drinks which we were then told they didn't have the ingredients to make those cocktails...Okay - it happens no problem . We then ordered food from the brunch menu ( also out of the first item we asked for , there are only about 6-7 items on that limited menu). We asked if the regular menu would be available that day and we were told "no not on Sunday's." We proceeded to order and consume the hot honey chicken and waffles( good but not much of a hot honey taste and be aware it's BONE IN chicken), French toast with berries ( delicious ), and the shrimp and grits (made to perfection). I ordered the Texas medicine beverage , which was exquisite! (Tequila cocktail, Pictured). We also had the Petal and Pearl , gin and procecco cocktail ,not pictured but very good as well. After we ate, we moved to the bar to grab one last beverage. Again, it took quite some time for someone to approach us, which was odd because many of the girls were making eye contact but walking by us. Finally a gentleman with curly hair came over to take our orders - thank you. We noticed people at the bar were eating wings and food that was not listed on the brunch menu. When I asked how they ordered that, they said the regular menu starts at 3 on Sundays! We were extremely disappointed our original server did not tell us this nor was enlightened that the menu was released at a later time on Sundays. Concerning. It was nice to sit on a roof top in Pittsburgh on a sunny day. They have the atmosphere done with perfection. The food seemed delectable and the beverages done with beautiful presentations. I really hope to give this place another chance and revise my review !

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
