Not the best tailer, you will find a better one nearby I promise. They charged me $100 to get my pants hemmed and suit jacket altered. But the older lady wouldn't alter the jacket the way I asked her to and was very rude about it. It's definitely not worth the price! They older lady disagreed with me when I asked for a modern style of a slim fit outfit. They also charged an additional $20 for a rush fee. I did not like how loose my suit fit on me and I expressed my concerns but they were not listening. I honestly regret going to this place. Please trust me when I say this place is not worth it. Just my drive a mile more for a better place. Response to Marion: I dropped it off Wednesday and needed it Friday afternoon almost 48 hours not 6 hours. When I expressed my concerns in person about the way I wanted the fitting, I was told that it wouldn't go with my body type and we didn't understand suits since this was your expertise. I was never told I could come back at no cost in fact I was told specifically it would cost another 35 dollars to get the sleeves fixed. After reading some of the reviews, I was hoping to get someone other than Stormy. Great news...Stormy no longer works there. This is a local business, and the only two employees are a grandmother and her granddaughter, Jessica. I dealt with Jessica and she was a delight. Very positive, very professional. I had a suit jacket that needed significant alterations due to weight loss. She meticulously pinned up the suit and made sure it would be a good fit while remaining comfortable and stylish. It's a significant job and it's due back to me in 5 days. Once my jacket is finished, I will edit my review accordingly. FYI, this is a cash only business, so plan your payments accordingly. I came to Phoenix Custom Tailors shortly before I was due to fly out of town for my wedding. The mission: create a custom overlay tulle skirt to give my sleek wedding dress a little umf. I met with Jessica and was immediately reassured I went to the right place. We spoke in person and via email to iron out the details and voila...she came up with a piece that was perfect (and portable!). Note: this is not an everyday item one would request. She had to make the design up based on my specs and she nailed it...and for a very reasonable rate. In addition to the custom job, I brought in a vintage wedding gown to be worn for a post-wedding Halloween costume party. While I only needed a zipper, based on my feedback Jessica took it upon herself to cinch the waist to fit better without tampering with the delicate, old pattern. Finding a good seamstress or tailor can be surprisingly hard. Phoenix Custom Tailors did such an amazing job with these cherished pieces I will for sure be back! read more

I took a dress and a sport jacket to get altered. When I went to go pick it up I was shocked to see the type of work that was done on my dress and my jacket. This work was done by Jess the sport coat lining was an inch longer than the sleeves the lining was done with white thread and the buttons were sewn back with pink thread, mind you this is a navy blue jacket. The lining was left with an opening not even sewn back together. My dress the zipper was uneven it had a wave all the way down to the bottom and the bottom of the zipper buckled up. I took my dress and my jacket to other Taylor's to try to get them fixed. No one would repair of the dress but I was able to get someone to work on the jacket. I call her to tellIwanted them to pay for the dress that I had bought which was $219. She told me to give her another chance to correct the situation I told her I had to think about it. She told I did not have to worry about paying anything and that if I was not satisfied with the results that they would pay me for my dress she said it was a win-win situation for me. me that I would not have to pay and that I hadand I hesitated I told her I would have to think about it. 7/9/2019 I saw today the response. If you remember I went in to pick up my clothing and my dress was All bunched up in the back and I was not able to wear it. My sport jacket if you remember the lining was about an inch longer an the sleeves. And yes the inside was sewn in pink and line unfinished. At the time you were busy sewing something and didn't want to bother with me. I then took my clothing call the bank and cancel the check. Check was only cancel after I seen now bad the work was done. Please note I still plan on pursuing this matter in small claim court. I've had a wedding to attend in San Francisco for that dress. I have a grand child that was born. And my own wedding. Now I'm able to pursue this matter. I have everything very will documented also the Tailor that redid the Jacket is welling to testify for me if I needed her. It's sad that you and your grandmother would do this to a customer. I don't even think you are a professional tailor I think you just work for your grandma. The ladies here are great! I found my new tailor shop. Before I was bringing a few items to the dry cleaners near my house, but they typically take like a week+ for basic tailoring. And I needed a sweater sewn QUICK... so off to Yelp to find a place close to my home and recommended. I called Phoenix Custom Tailors first. The friendly voice said that they were busy but they could probably squeeze it in today. I assumed that I'd drop off and pick up later in the day... Well... even better! The friendly clerk immediately started sewing the minor holes my sweater had in the seams; and I was outta there! Granted this was a minor repair... but the ladies were so friendly and welcoming to me. I will definitely bring them any and all my sewing repair & tailoring needs. This is my very first Yelp review, and I'm compelled to write a glowing one for Phoenix Custom Tailors... I've used the shop a few times before for minor alterations, but this time I actually called PCT looking for an upholstery referral for 4 box cushions I needed recovered. I had started the project myself, but my machine wasn't strong enough to sew through the dense tweed fabric. Anywho, I spoke with the owner's granddaughter (who, with her husband, will eventually take over the family business), and not only was she super nice, but she said they could help!! I went in straight away, and again, my interaction was very pleasant. They quoted me a reasonable price and a fair turnaround time of about a week to 10 days. BUT, I got a call THE NEXT DAY; my cushion covers were done - and they were done perfectly. Now, keep in mind this is a tailor and not an upholsterer. The second time, I had them let out a hem in some pants I had made too, short. They were able to do this and make the pants, longer than I expected. I called today in a panic because another seamstress(different shop) told me over the phone she couldn't take out my dress an inch in two weeks before my event.. even seeing my dress. I called this place per the recommendation of a friend and I'm so glad I did. Not only did Jess their seamstress calm me down and tell me not to worry but she let me come in 5 minutes before close. And once I tried the dress on it fit perfect I was just unable to put it on myself at home. The other seamstress shouldn't have assumed and put me into a panic. This place is absolutely the worst. If it were possible to give a lesser rating, I would. My sister was getting married and she worked a deal with the owner for reduced alteration price for all the girls in the wedding party. First of all, I was charged more than the agreed-to price. I didn't want to make a big deal of it, so I just let it pass. When I went to pick it up two weeks later, it was way too tight in the bust area. At first, the tailor (I think her name was Stormy) refused to take the blame for the mistake. Her response: "Something must have changed since you were here last." Was she implying that I had somehow gained a bust size in two weeks?!? When I came back a couple weeks later (I don't live in Phoenix but was travelling there often for wedding preparations), the dress was still too tight. The zipper zipped all the way up, but it was still so tight that I couldn't even take a full breath. Yet the same woman was there trying to convince me that it was fine. I think she just wanted to get me the hell out of her shop. I insisted she redo it again and when I went back a week later (2 days before the wedding), it finally fit, but there was still more trouble. For one thing, Stormy nearlly gave me the wrong dress. Second, and more seriously, she freaking lost one of the straps belonging to my dress!!! When I asked her about it, her reply was "I guess I can look for it." She still hadn't found it a couple minutes later and probably would have left it at that if I hadn't pushed the issue. Her solution was to tell me to take one of the straps off one of the other bridesmaids dresses. Can you believe that?!? The nerve of that woman. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL! She grudgingly agreed to make me a replacement strap. I should mention that during this entire ordeal I never once received an appology. Stormy kept putting the blame on everything but her less-than-adequate sewing skills. If I hadn't already paid the full amount, I would have refused to do so. I know I'm not an isolated incident because another girl in the party had the same problems only worse. I had to come back 3 times but she came back 5 times. She also didn't receive any kind of appology for the trouble. I can't and won't recommend this place, even to the truly desperate. There's plenty of other tailors in Phoenix, do yourself a favor and try one of those. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. So, I called on a Tuesday to see if I could get some pants hemmed for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The dinner was out of town, and my flight left Wednesday night, so I knew I was asking for a really quick turnaround and I apologized for that at the start of the conversation. Me - "I kinda need these pants ready by tomorrow, is that even possible?" Mean PCT lady - "Well, It's possible, I guess" Me - "Ok cool, well I'm not trying to be a jerk, but since I'm leaving tomorrow night, I need a yes or no answer... if it's no, that's totally understandable" PCT devil woman - "...I said it was possible, thats the same as yes, right?" Me - "Well, not really, possible implies that there is a chance..." PCT satan - (cuts me off) "Ok well thank you, but I can only tell you it's possible, so maybe you should try somewhere else." (hangs up on me). I call Brother's Tailors and Clothing, they were sooo awesome and friendly and they hemmed my pants that day! I was still kinda mad about how rude the PCT lady was, so I called back to ask for her manager. After a long conversation of me trying to explain how rude she was (she didn't get it) she ended the call with the statement that pretty much sums there lousy business: "Well, we've been in business for over 50 years and if you don't like the way we do business you can go somewhere else." I cannot express in words the awesomeness of service, workmanship and talent that these ladies have to offer. I had a mini wedding dress nightmare. My sister in law to be has her own seamstress business. When I bought my expensive David's Bridal gown she begged to do the dress. I only agreed if she would allow me to be a professional customer and pay, no favors strictly professional. Long story short she made some mistakes and I found out on my own I was devastated. In between my tears I searched for a tailor near by read the reviews and met Jess. She comforted me said the dress was not a lost cause that I'd need to come back meet with as I refer to her the world's best designer LaJuana. LaJuana took a look at the mess of a dress and had an instant vision. A week later I went in and the dress was stunning. Actually by her vision and talents the dress was even better than I could ever imagine she made it spectacular. Every time I was there I noticed that there were repeat customers coming in. Jessica is amazing!!! The majority of my alterations are just hemming dresses/pants, etc. (perks of being 5'2) but I am so happy to have found this spot right around the corner from me! They are totally affordable and quick!! I ordered some silk high waisted pants that came in the mail the day of an event I wanted to wear them to. I called the shop at 2:30pm just to see the chances of getting them hemmed and back in my hands the same day (knowing they close at 4:30) and Jessica happily took me.
