I've been here twice now for lunch and it's been really good. There are a few booths and a few more tables. The server greeted me quickly upon entry. Let me sit wherever I wanted. Their lunch specials are really good deal at around $14. This time I got chicken chop Suey and it was delicious. Much specials come automatically with a small side of sweet-and-sour chicken where a lot of places would give you an egg roll. I really enjoy the sweet-and-sour chicken more than I ever enjoy eggrolls so this was nice for me. I really love the egg flour soup. It has nice flavor and it has some crunchy goodness in it too. I think it's chopped up water chestnuts but I couldn't promise you that. They have a whole menu devoted to their beverages. She also mentions that they have cake for dessert. I have not tried dessert or any fancy beverages. The yummy lunch and the great price will keep bringing me back. read more

I'm so glad we tried this Chinese restaurant! The lunch specials we ordered were delicious and plentiful. The deep fried chicken served with all lunches was light and tasty with sweet & sour sauce on top. Enjoyed the hot and sour soup too. Wow it's been awhile since I checked in on Phoenix Pavilion. I'm sure I have been there since my last review. It's basically the only Chinese place in Stanwood other than the other one which has limited hours since the great germ scare of 2020. Phoenix is dependable and consistent. I like most of their offerings and especially enjoy the House Chow Fun. I order on line mostly but don't mind going in. They have pretty good following. read more

After over an hour of waiting we walked out without our food. Waitress said it was her second day and was the only front of house staff. On my trip to town, I went back to the same meal I had on my first trip and it was delicious. The service is still way too slow and less than pleasant, but it wasn't as deliberate or dare I say rude as I experienced and witnessed before. Ironically, when I asked for another cup of soup, she lit up, and with enthusiasm said, "You like my soup?" To which I responded, "It's really good". However, the first cup was piping hot and savory, the second cold was room temperature, so I'm not sure what happened in those 5-10 minutes but it killed the flavor buzz I was experiencing. I'll be honest, I'd like to give these guys 4 stars, but the service is slow and unreliable, in addition, I have had items that are not nearly as good as others, so 3 stars is fitting as a final review. If I stop here again, I'll be sticking with the items that have impressed me. Consistency and service should be top concern for whoever owns this place. read more

Ordered the Walnut prawns and BBQ pork fried rice. It took a while to get our dinner. The prawns arrived cold, strange for a dish that is batter dipped and deep fried. It took a while to get the server's attention. She took the dish back to the kitchen and returned with it about 5 - 10 minutes later. I took A prawn from the plate and cut a a small piece, it was icy! I waved to the server and stated the prawns are frozen! She said I wouldn't be charged and took the plate away. I asked for the check and a to go container for the rice. I wasn't charged for the shrimp but this ruined a valentine diner. This is the last time I'll patronage this establishment. read more

Waitress rude, condescending, dismissive. I have never walked out of a restaurant before but I was not about to put up with her treatment of my mom (in her 80s). She was not helpful with our questions and seemed completely fed up before we even ordered. We just left, didn't even order. Starving during an afternoon of shopping so dropped in to get a couple orders of spring rolls. It was late in the afternoon and before the dinner rush so we waited in a booth for our food- we also asked for their spicy mustard, which they make themselves! I am writing this review with only having ordered and eaten the spring rolls- and wow are they great rolls! Perfect size and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the lunch menu. The food was delicious and very authentic. It even came with a delicate egg drop soup that has several thin slivers of ginger floating in it. I had the chicken and vegetables. They were stir fried in a delicious light sauce served with fried rice, a cream cheese fried wonton and sweet and sour fried chicken appetizers. I was starving and it filled me up for the rest of the day. I only wish I had eaten in the restaurant instead of ordering to go. When I walked in the smell of the hot tea and the food cooking smelled so good I did not want to leave. Service was fast and friendly. read more

This is an excellent Asian restaurant in Stanwood. I decided to order carry out for lunch from here because I was craving wonton soup. I also ordered their Kung Pow Beef. I ordered outside in my car and then went inside. I sat for 10 minutes and out it came. I drove back home and was sooooo happy. The wonton soup met my expectations. The broth was flavorful and I had 6 wontons. I would suggest that for carry out they put their wontons in a separate container. By the time I got home (15 min) my wonton dumplings were pretty mushy. They were still high quality and tasty. My beef entree was delish. There was so much sliced tender beef. No fat or gristle. Since this was my first time, I didn't realize it comes with a tiny box of rice, so order extra. It has a spicy sauce and all the ingredients were cooked perfectly. Also had plenty of peanuts. I ate it for dinner too. I could t wait to go back so I did. It was just as delicious as the first time. I only got 4 wontons the second time and had requested them to be packaged separately but they must have forgotten. I recommend you give this place a try and I suggest carry out since the interior atmosphere is not all that inviting. Give them a try and they deliver. Just use their website. read more

All 3 stars are for the food. The food is really good. Service is horrible. Owner/only woman who works there is extremely rude and impatient. It's like it's an inconvenience that we came to eat there. Doesn't refill water. Doesn't like when you ask questions. She forgot rice for one of the entrees which is fine but we waited about 10 mins for her to come out from the back and when we asked her for it she counted all of the rice on the table and all of the entrees. Then she went and got another rice. She didn't apologize or anything just another inconvenience for her. I've been there a handful of times and it's always the same. I suggest getting the food to go for a better experience (but expect a long wait even for to-go) read more

First off, five stars for the food. I especially recommend the Mongolian Beef. The sauce is terrific. Get the 5-stars for a nice bit of heat. The lunch specials are a bargain as they serve generous portions. Note: Orange Chicken is part of each lunch special, so don't order it as your entree unless you really, really love Orange Chicken! But I have to take one star off for the service. The owners are a hard-working couple, but it seems they are just hanging on. As of December 2023, there were no light in the bathroom (just a flashlight), so that implies the budget is tight. They really could use another waitress, so bring your patience when ordering. Then there was the issue of the incorrect food being brought out. Twice I ordered Sweet & Sour soup, and twice I was brought the Egg Flower soup. It was so slow in coming (fifteen minutes when only two other tables were occupied), that I was grateful to get any soup, so I didn't send it back. In summary, the food is terrific, but the service is spotty. I recommend Phoenix Pavilion as long as you realize this is a small-town restaurant run by a hard-working (and over-worked) couple. read more

This restaurant incorrectly charged my card $80. I put in an order online and then called to make a change to the order when they told me that they were actually closed. They still charged my card and then lied and told my bank that I received my order when I tried to contest the charge. A friend and I went midweek during dinnertime, so it wasn't crowded. We ordered two dishes (General Tso's Chicken and Prawns with Pea Pods) a la carte and shared them. The food was really good, and not too salty. The veggies were really fresh. I thought the prices were very reasonable as well. Service was great, though I can see why backlog can happen (see other reviews) during busy times, because they cook one dish at a time and deliver each one as soon as it is done. But I thought the food was totally worth the wait. I was really hungry, so it seemed like a longish time - probably 10-15 minutes. I'll definitely keep going back for more! I gave 4 stars because the ambiance is just slightly shabby, though I really liked the retro-style Chinese restaurant vibe. The only thing missing was the aquarium up front! read more

They are very generous with the sweet-and-sour sauce on the side and the food was hot, it wasn't greasy and everything was very fresh. We also got an appetizer combo and everything was so delicious. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated which was long considering it was a slow day (lunch time). Waited again for menu. Server had no personality, took longer than normal to take order, didn't come by to see how things were. No comments when soup or food delivered to table. Ordered lunch special with almond fried chicken, sweet/sour chicken, fried rice & appetizer. Asked that sauce & gravy be on the side, not on food. Sweet/sour was drenched in sauce. Appetizer was also. Gravy for chicken was in a small bowl & looked like brown vomit. Chicken was overcooked & dry. Gravy was salty. Finished meal (again no additional contact from server) & had to chase down server so we could pay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this horrible restaurant to anyone. Again, 2nd visit was worse than the 1st. Just moved to the area from Southern Calif., Consider ourselves "foodies" and will travel a distance for good food. Been on a quest for good, authentic Chinese food and have been striking out. Was told to go north to Chinatown in BC or south to Seattle. Thank goodness we discovered Phoenix Pavilion! Fantastic Hot and Sour soup with all of the correct ingredients (you can have it customize to the "heat" that you want), The Green Bean Chicken w/black beans is absolutely the BEST I've had in a very long time. Mongolian Beef is also a must that can also be customized to the desired amount of heat. The combination dinners are huge, average around $10 and allow you to try a number of items at one setting. I tried #3 my first time so I could sample a number of dishes and was pleasantly surprised. Food is hot and fresh and service is very pleasant. If you don't know what to order, there are picture of the dishes all around the booths. Amy, the waitress/owner, will try to help you order as well. Well never mind the order was wrong , only one dish but it was for the hubby. Somehow chicken was used instead of beef. Which would have been ok if my walnut prawns were chicken as the prawns in my dish were small rubbery 1/2 nuggets of shrimps I received half tail half head as you can imagine the wad of dough that covered it makes it appear as a full shrimp might be involved . The walnuts were rocks had one chosen to try and bite one. The chicken chow mien was tasteless according to hubby. I refused to try as the sloppy wet over cooked veggies with the pale rubber chicken just did not appear appealing enough to try. The Mongolian chicken should have been beef 5 star spicy yet again the chicken was tasteless ( texture according to the hubby is fine ) as well as not spicy at all. A shame that it will go into trash as I can't even feed it to the dog. Pork fried rice was weak on pork and small bits of egg. The sides were left uneaten after the one bite of cream cheese fried wontons as the cheese tasted so bad I spit the bite into the sink. The bbq pork was the processed type and only one teaspoon of mustard and a half teaspoon of sesame seeds. Heaps of red sweet and sour sauce . I now remember why we have not eaten here in at least 4 years. I don't mind spending $60 on food. But I'm betting I could find a Chinese cooking class for that much . Delivery driver was amazing!!! Sad that when I called lady just wanted to fight. Look lady been married to same guy over 15 years he eats one Chinese dish and one only. If you can't do the right thing you might want to consider why your sales are down. Regardless even if we got the right order I'm guessing the prawns would be the same crappy ones that we got. The thing is I'm sure it's pretty easy to do better then this. read more

First time here ordered to go. We ordered BBQ pork (I was very happy it was very fresh and tender) We ordered egg rolls which were pretty good. For entrees we ordered Orange Chicken, Sweet & Sour shrimp, and Chicken lo mein. Everything was very fresh and cooked well. The lo mein was pretty sparse on vegetables. And we were very bummed after eating to realize we didn't get fortune cookies. But other then that we'll definitely order from here again read more

Not great, not terrible. We stop in every couple years but its not a regular favorite. With Jasmine, one of our favorites, right across the street don't know how they compete. Young lady seated us by tossing menus on the table without a word. Never seems to be much of a crowd, lots of empty tables. Food is average. Fortune cookies were on the stale side. Great tastes and consistent quality service here. I love that I can order online and pick up at a time that works, and the food is hot and delicious. Parking can be a pain some nights but this is the best Chinese restaurant in town so a short walk isn't too much. If you haven't been, then go, get takeout or call ahead for a table.
