Overpriced small portions - I ordered shrimp tempura and they served it right away - COLD! They run like 3-4 servers by you to make it look like their service is good/ tip more. The main ingredient in pho is the broth. Without the broth, there is no pho. The broth is an ongoing process, from morning to night....and yes, you can tell. If you're not a big pho person, you won't be able to tell, and this will satisfy you. But if you're Viet and you're a pho person who knows what real pho taste like, you'll know this is average. Another bad thing with this place is that they don't give you enough noodles...generous with the ingredients, but barely any noodles. I placed another order of noodles half way. They renovated the place, bigger, classy & with a bar. Service was outstanding, with all the guys milling around, attentive to our needs. We ordered pho with beef short rib, it was tender, meaty with flavorful broth. We got a lot of appetizers: egg rolls, spring rolls, chicken wings, grilled pork sausage, steamed rice bun with grilled pork filling (so delicious & addicting!) the roasted pork that was a little bit tough on the teeth but all of them authentic & delicious! Service took a very long time to even take our order. There were 4 wait staff and only 3 tables with customers, yet it took us over 20 minutes to even have our order taken. Food was incredibly slow and everyone's food came out at different times. Advertise iced coffee on menu but server did not know how it was made. Food tasted okay, not bad at all. Overpriced & small portions. Had to order extra noodles for pho. Steak is decent but meatball is terrible. Food was above average at best. Service is good for reviews and only until you pay. Came in during rush lunch hour, asked to wait 10 minutes. Old caucasian male with entitlement cut the line and took the only available seat though he ordered to go. Asked to wait another 5 minutes. Owner goes and panders to him like they're buddy-buddy. Ambience is about what you'd expect from a small vietnamese shop. So if you like being treated like a 3rd or 4th class customer, you are welcome here. For all I know, they could be spitting in your pho to add to the flavor unless you're an old caucasian male than you're treated like a king. As with most small restaurants that experience some success, the skimping and take it or leave it attitude has begun. I usually order carry out so I cant comment on eating in the dining room. I do like their Pho and that's what I ordered the last few times. When ordering I always make sure to ask for the essential sauces (siracha, hoisin, hot chili oil, etc) since there have been previous times when they failed to include any even after asking for it. The last 2 times I was told they were out of one or the other. I found it hard to believe that a Pho place would run out of these items since they are pretty much required to accompany the Pho. When I picked up I could see every table in the place had all the sauces. When I questioned this I was told they didn't have "carry-out" packets. I asked if they could just provide some in a small container. I was told no. REALLY? You couldn't just give me some to not affect the experience and make a customer happy? One time I ordered some other items for a group of people. Told me it would be ready in 30 mins. 25 mins later I left home to pick up. As I was driving there they called the house in an effort to notify me that they ran out of some items. Really? Less than 5 mins before pickup time you decide to call to let me know? Of course I didn't find out until I arrived for the pickup which provided me no option of trying to determine any alternatives for those individuals who's items they ran out of. So I had a couple people who got nothing. What really aggravated me was I saw people in the restaurant getting the exact items I attempted to order 30+ mins earlier that I was being told were sold out. Between these customer service issues and a downward trend in quality and flavor I don't consider this place a part of my normal rotation of eating out any more. I just don't understand why these smaller places get like this when they experience some success. Sure they want to make $ is the short term but when customer service is no longer a priority their long term $ will no doubt be affected. read more

The food is great, this place has the best pho in Chicagoland in my opinion. However, the customer service is terrible. We were the only ones there and it took them 10 minutes just to come ask for food. No greetings, no apology, other times they wouldn't even serve water until asked we asked for it. They spoke very impolitely and would even roll their eyes. It's a shame considering how great the food is but the servers need to be better trained. read more

Family and I wanted a great Vietnamese place to stop to on a Sunday evening. Pho Licious didn't disappoint at all. Well at least for the most part of it! Our food came out in a decent time and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I was super stunned by how adorable my dish was. The rice was heart shaped so cutely. Food was great! I will say the rice has a very mushy texture which I disliked. Everything else was tasty. Also, when we were ordering from the beginning, we told our waitress drinks we wanted. We got our water but no drinks. We reminded them again of the drinks and the waitress then got the reminder clicked in her mind. Drinks came out but mine didn't. I reminded her again of my order and she told the barista. A whole 10 mins came by and my drink still wasn't out. Reminded her AGAIN, and finally saw someone preparing it. I got the strawberry lemonade. I only drank half of it and I got the WORST stomach ache of my life in the car. Seriously. Felt like I was about to explode. This is my third time visiting this restaurant, it's a little farther away from us but worth making the trip for some great pho. They must have tweaked their portion serving because early when they opened their portions were a little skimpy. This time I notice more noodles, more of everything. The pho is great, pretty much everything on their limited menu is good. The service is also attentive perhaps because it's a small establishment and they can take the time to really give good service. As they expand I hope that customer service level carries over. I am extremely critical of Vietnamese restaurants because no Vietnamese restaurant can cook better than my mom, but my takeout order from Pho Licious is probably the best in the area. I was extremely surprised by the quality of the meats and the exceptional flavor of the beef broth. It's sweet, savory, and has such depth to it. The 4 meat bowl is such a great deal, especially for takeout. They provide a quart of broth and the take out bowl only holds about half, so you're really getting two bowls of pho for the price of one. I would highly suggest ordering an extra order of just noodles. They also packaged everything so well. The noodles are separated from the broth. And the meat is separated from your noodles with plastic wrap. Nothing is worse than mushy noodles! I'd love to try their sizzling beef next! read more

We were on our way to a different restaurant when I happened to glance and saw Pho Licious. Asked the family if they want to try it and we were not disappointed! Located in the same plaza with Lou Malnati's as their next door neighbor, its a small place but clean. Place was packed with guess what? Asian peeps, mostly Vietnamese. Patronize your own and if its good, people come back. we didn't have any expectations and we were surprised. You can make your own pho! and my son got the shrimp and beef which he liked. The broth was delicious he said and I got to try some and I agree! Me and hubby got the grilled pork chop. it was ok, the meat came a little undercooked. They served it with a cup of rice, egg and slices of cucumber, tomato and raddish and carrot slices. Their banh mi sandwiches are good and the egg rolls are pretty good! For a new place, I hope they stick around and maintain the quality of their food. oh, they also have smoothies and my son who is a fan of mango smoothies, he got the mango pineapple which for the price, cannot beat it and he finished it before we left the place. read more

My husband and I were running errands in the area and looking for a spot to pick up food. So happy we chose Pho Licious! I ordered the simply pho licious with beef, brisket and shrimp in a beef broth. I had never had pho before so I asked the woman helping me to make a suggestion. It was delicious!! The broth was brimming with the flavor of cloves and star anise. My husband ordered the Banh Mi sandwich with grilled pork. This was also excellent. All the employees were not only wearing masks but wearing them properly. They were all very pleasant. The food was very fresh and I didn't have a long wait. The prices are also extremely reasonable. The restaurant was clean which Is a nice bonus. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more

I love their Pho and have ordered it numerous times but every time I order the shrimp now I end up throwing a majority of it away because it's not deveined. The first few times I've eaten it there were no issues and now lately it seems like they've gotten a little careless with it. Aside from this they have great Pho and the only reason I continue to order it is because the shrimp comes separately from the Pho when you get takeout. read more

First time visiting this place. We placed our order. Waited and waited and no one brought us our water. We finally asked a waiter and he brings our water. Shortly after that, our first dish came out, the chicken wings. No utensils and had to ask them for it. We ordered the fried chicken leg quarter and had to send it back 2 times because it was uncooked. The second time they came back with the chicken, it was 2 smaller pieces. One of which was cooked, the other one wasn't. Sent that one back (they did tell me it was cooked but I'm no restaurant chef but I know what uncooked chicken looks like). On the third try they brought back the first and second pieces that we sent back, even after it was refried, the first piece wasn't cooked. My daughter just eat whatever was edible. The food is a little overpriced and service wasn't the best but I'll give it to them for trying to fix the chicken and taking 10% off our bill. Other than that, the food was good. Will I return?
