The prices are pretty comparable to most Thai restaurants, but there were two things that bothered me: 1) The separate fee they impose to "help pay operating expenses". Shouldn't that cost be factored into the food prices? And then they want a tip on top of that when you're picking up the food? I thought the point of a tip was to reward good service. How does that work when they are asking for a tip before any service was rendered? Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. 2) Every other Asian restaurant I've ordered takeout from has positively crammed the food into the containers so you feel like you're getting a good value. This place left notable space at the top of each container and the food didn't last as long as it usually does when my husband and I order multiple dishes. Now for the actual food (which was just under $70 total). Pot Stickers Chicken (6) ( Steamed ) - These were quite good and the included sauce was good as well. Garlic Pepper ( Chicken,Medium, Jasmine Rice ) - Also very good. Nice spice, rice was soft, the juice that came with the dish was flavorful. I liked the veggies (which includes mushrooms). Pad Thai ( Chicken,Mild ) - Very strange flavor. My husband felt there was too much fish sauce or something. It was also too sweet. I don't know what they used in it, but neither of us liked it so we won't be ordering it again. Pad See Eiw ( Chicken,Not Spicy ) - Good overall flavor, and the broccoli was cooked well, unlike some Thai places where the broccoli is practically raw. Next time we'll add a little spice. Kung Pao Noodle ( Chicken,Mild ) - This was very flavorful. It's a unique dish I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants and was our favorite. Very spice for mild, though, so keep that in mind. Overall the food is good and I'd order here again, but it wouldn't be my first pick due to location, portion size, and that stupid extra fee.

Amazing FRESH food! Such a gem! The fried rice is so perfect and seasoned just right. The vegetables, fresh and crispy. We absolutely enjoyed all of it!

Just finished my meal. Really enjoyed the chicken satay; flavorful and tender. I ordered chicken pad Thai "medium" spice and it was the perfect spice level (not overly spicy). My only complaint is the fishy taste of the pad Thai. Maybe they had a shrimp pad Thai in the pan before me? No seafood in my order so it threw me off a bit. Will likely give the pad Thai one more shot and see if it was a fluke.

The fried tofu, fried rice and noodle dishes would highly recommend. They are our staple dishes. The industrial decor with open ceilings make the space appear open and spacious. However, it creates a space where the noise fills the room. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely bustling and gives a lively feel while dining. Staff were friendly. The wait staff seemed very busy managing tables. Service wasn't slow, but definitely felt their restaurant is always at capacity which is a good problem to have! The Din Tai Fung of Illinois is finally here!…read more My family and I have been chasing the high of Din Tai Fung's soup dumplings for years, but there has always seemed to be an absence of restaurants like this in the Midwest. Thankfully, Phat Phat stepped in to fill that gap. We drove 30 miles for a late lunch around 2:30 p.m. to hopefully beat the crowds. There's a huge parking lot in the back, the building itself is incredibly unique, and the interior is absolutely beautiful. It feels modern while still being warm and inviting. We wanted to try a variety of dishes, so we ordered two baskets of the Shanghai Soup Dumplings, the Enoki Mushroom appetizer, Chicken Fried Rice, Phat Phat Chicken, Nasi Campur, and finished the meal with the Mango Sago. Everything was incredible. The soup dumplings definitely filled the void that Din Tai Fung left behind. Every dish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served piping hot. The Mango Sago was the perfect palate cleanser and a refreshing way to end the meal on a hot summer day. The standout for me was the Enoki Mushroom appetizer. That will be a must-order every time we come back. We also have Indonesian family and have visited Bali, so we were excited to try the Nasi Campur. It was spot on. The satay is another must-order in my opinion. Our waiter was kind and attentive, and the rest of the staff were just as welcoming and pleasant. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we'll absolutely be back.

So far I tried Mr A's across the street for breakfast and it's a hit or miss it's good on certain dishes like the pancakes but not the French toast. This is my first time trying this Vietnamese place across the street and it seems pretty clean I did try to come here but you have to come here Wednesday through Sunday and I came on a Monday or Tuesday and they were closed. Right now this is my opportunity trying them and so far it's been a quaint and ambience on the declar if they're playing soft jazz music. So far service was pretty quick. Instead of the typical traditional Vietnamese summer or spring rolls I went for the Chinese side which they had shrimp shumai which is more dim sum I just ordered one it was okay. I ordered the pho with the beef tendon and it was a meh ok. I think it could have been a little more flavorful with their pho broth but it wasn't bland either. Needs more cinnamon. What's also unique was the fact that they kept their soup spoons and their regular spoons and chopsticks in this wooden box and then another peculiarity was you had to get the condiments of basil chili pepper bean sprouts and lime up in a tray versus for them to bring it to you. The line in the basil didn't seem that fresh which is why I was a little disappointed other than that it was okay. I don't know if I would come here more often but there are other places I tried that are Vietnamese in which the pho had more flavor and was better. I probably would come here for their dim sum

I first saw what appeared to be a roach in the bathroom and tried to brush it off. Then I saw a MOUSE crawling inside the restaurant. My food had just arrived, I took one bite, and immediately lost my appetite, not to mention ton the food looked like it was a dollar store microwaveable dinner! There were also mops and piles of clothing/belongings sitting in the hallway near the kitchen area, which only added to my concerns about cleanliness. What made it worse was the response. There was no manager available, staff acted like I was making the mouse up, refused to take my concern seriously, and still made me pay for food I couldn't stomach eating after what I witnessed. Seeing both a roach and a mouse during ONE visit is enough for me. I have filed a formal health department complaint requesting an inspection. I would absolutely not eat here again.

One thing is certain is that bowls are used here. The amount of food on these bowls is skimpy. Basic looking atmosphere. It's one of those big bright modern interiors with lots of booths and lights. The parking lot was pretty full but many of those people were probably eating at another restaurant. A lot of familiar sounding items. The drinks and food are overpriced. It's about $13 for the cheapest cocktail. The one I got was the Big Bowl Seasonal Margarita. This was made with Tres Agaves Blanco tequila. Okay potency. There wasn't anything that special about it though. Has a happy hour but it's limited basically. Includes slightly cheaper prices on a few beers, wines, and appetizers such as edamame. The food is kind of a ripoff. It's about $15 to get the cheapest entrees. The one I got was the Spicy Thai Green Curry With Tofu. It came in a bowl. There was baby bok choy, green beans, green curry sauce, peas, and vegetables. Choice of noodles or rice. This also comes with a salad. Just costs too much for not a lot. She got the Pad Thai. Comes with a choice of protein. Tofu is the choice for vegetarians. Looked basic. The rest of the menu has things such as hibachi. For sure it has okay flavor. It's located close to Woodfield Mall. The prices are too high for portions.
