Great place for passport photos, as I was recommended by some other Canadian friends about Photo Experts. There's really no point in taking risks with Walgreens or CVS when it comes to international passports, so I was ok with paying a bit more money to get it done here. The owner was super knowledgeable, had all the sizes already for each country on his PC, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. My cost was $30 for my two Canadian passport photos, but the owner guaranteed they would work or he would retake them for me. Can't be that, I'll be recommending them again in the future. read more

Quick and easy. Parking can be a pain cuz it's a strip mall. Park on the street. Overall the photos turned out great. I wish he asked me right away if it was digital application or print so i wouldn't have spent an extra $15 on printing photos. Nevertheless, high quality! read more

I walked in with a very old disposable camera and they were able to develop it. They provided the digital photos within a week. The man at the counter was also very friendly and helped to keep a couple of young kids entertained while their father took care of the business he was there for. Come here if you need passport photos for other countries and the USA. Accepted by Australian consulate after they rejected photos from CVS ,UPS. He takes multiple pics, uploads them on his computer and you can pick the one you want and he sizes them to the correct specifications. A very pleasant experience . Easy parking too. read more

I came in for passport photos. Was happy with the photo/pricing and the service was quick and simple. Unfortunately, both sizes I purchased were denied because the dimensions of my face didn't fit the specifications. I called to let the owner know that maybe his template was off. This place does a bit of everything, I was send over to have a money order made. Not a place of my choice, but I had to do it right then and there for a Consulate located inside the same building. When we went in, there were no customers, two people working there, one browsing Amazon, one on the phone. I asked for help, I was told to wait for the guy who was on the phone. The conversation didn't seem to end, it was hot inside the place, no AC, it didn't matter that I stood there for a while, waiting. I was helped after a while (they charge $4 for a money order), with no apology for the wait. They do photos here (passport, etc), notary services, a bit of this and that. As a customer, I didn't feel respected at all, and that matters, so not a place I'd recommend. read more

Don't be fooled by the name, as these are quite clearly Photo Amateurs. I brought two rolls of E-6 slide film to be processed and scanned. These ignorant chumps did not read the film cartridges and instead processed my rolls as C-41, essentially ruining the film. This film was shot in Paris. The trip cost nearly $3000. Words can't accurately capture how furious I am at this lab. Never again. If you're a serious photographer I recommend taking your business to Samy's Camera in Culver City. read more

The best place you should go for passport photo. I was kind in an urgent condition and it passed 6pm already, the owner told me to get there because he was still doing paperwork. Then I just go. He was very nice to ask me what size do I want, and explain the different sizes between different countries. The most important is, he was very professional! The photo quality is extremely high. It takes your face very very comfortable. (Actually, I like the passport photo of me more than the mirror!) I would highly recommend everyone get there, since he would make your passport more than perfect. Trust me, I would not receive any commission or kickback by writing that. read more

He was so nice, professional, and great at what he does! Don't go anywhere else for your passport or visa photos. He knows everything about regulations and what needs to be in a photo for any country! I didn't like the first set so he took the photos again. Still didn't like my face, but they have yet to create a camera that fixes that blemish! So I went with the second set, cause my vanity only goes so far. Tried to get a passport photo taken at CVS... it was terrible. And still 11 bucks. I decided I didn't want to have a terrible picture of myself in my passport so I went to this guy. He's nice, professional, and takes pride in his work. He kept track of all the reasons passport photos got rejected in the past so he wouldn't make the same mistakes again (Canadian passport photo regulations are much trickier than you think!) He pointed out that if I wore my white polo shirt, I had a chance of getting rejected (and there was nothing like that on the passport website) so I borrowed one of his jackets to take a proper photo. It's best to go to someone with experience and skill for these types of matters. He saved me the hassle of doing it all again a few months later and the photos turned out well. My son needed a UK passport pic for his visa application. I called and this very nice man gave me a quote. We went in and I was a little hesitant because he only had a sign covering another sign and a handwritten one on the door. We went in to find his dog barking at us but little Winston was adorable and the owner was so nice. He sat my son in the chair and knew exactly what the UK requirements were, even to show his ears which my son did not know about. He not only knew the measurements but also the distance from the chin to the bottom of the photo. He was very nice to deal with and the price was cheaper than the other places I called. Way too expensive for the job he does. I had no time to look for another photo shop so had to pay $25 for 2 pics. Didn't like the picture had to do it gain but it was the same. Didn't want to redo it cause the process of looking at it was taking too long. Photographer himself is very slow. Won't come again for sure. read more

He is familiar with the current requirements for european and US photos. Prices are in the mid range but worth it if you want to avoid headaches. Came here for my Canadian passport photo because the other place in SM just happened to be closed for family emergencies. My passport renewed with no problem -phew! I took off one star because it is insanely expensive ($30) for 2 little photos printed on photo paper (I'm a designer so anything to do with printing raises my awareness). 1) This place was hard to find if you are accessing it from Wilshire Blvd, as you have to pass through several hallways, and no signage is visible from the street or the main building entrance. 2) The service itself was fine. 3) I paid $16+ for two passport photos. Only needed one, but they are sold 2 at a time, as is the case elsewhere. Now passport photos are in general a huge racket. As the gentleman at the store acknowledged, the cost of producing 2 passport photos is a few cents. In the past, I have paid $6-8 for passport photos, and been similarly pissed at the arbitrary cost of a 2x2 compared with other sized photos, when the issue is simply one of photo cropping. But $16? Needed passport pictures, charged $32 for 6. I wish I knew that fedex across the street charges half of that. This business gets away with charging exuberant prices for passport or visa pictures because of the number of embassies and consulates in the building, but 32 bucks is way too much. I called Photo Experts 15 minutes before they were closing to see if they could fit me in for a passport photo. I had just come from another passport place and my picture was horrible -- the coloring was poor and I didn't even look like myself. I figured I'd try Photo Experts after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp. They surpassed my expectations. Kamran was so nice and offered to stay open late to accommodate me! He proceeded to take as many photos as I wanted until I was happy with one, uploading each batch to his computer and letting me choose between the various options. The coloring was great. I have had a terrible passport photo for a decade, and I really wanted a better one now that it's time to renew. After reading reviews here I headed to Photo Experts with my kids. I wish I'd had the experiences described here. The person who helped us (not Kamran) took less care with the photos than any random person at the DMV does. I said I did not like the one he took of me, but he said, "There's nothing I can do about it." When I got out to my car I realized I wasn't even looking at the camera in the photo he took of me. I did use the photos of my kids, so the trip wasn't a total wash, but I went out again to have my own photo retaken at a nearby studio today, and the result was much, much better. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This guy kept me waiting 40 minutes for 2 simple passport photos. Since he's the only one in that area that takes international size passport photos including what I needed which is a Canadian size passport photo (only about 1/4 of an inch longer than a US photo), he thinks that gives him the right to charge us all $30 (more than double anywhere else). To top it off, the photos were terrible - very white lighting, not posed, no chance to review beforehand, basically about as bad as you can look in a passport photo. When I commented on the price he was rude and said "that's what you get for quality". HA. Everyone in line was shaking their heads. Go anywhere else. Photo Center on Beverly Blvd charges 14.95-$20 for the same international passport photos, is friendly and you acutally look good in the picture. read more
