I have been here before and they did find. Last week they royally messed up my film, my negatives are fine i took it somewhere else and got great photos, the prints they gave me off were half cut off and so bad and sloppy they had to have known and just did it anyway. like only half of my photos are shown in the prints and then it's cut off. they also charged me $40 plus prints and email for half frame. the whole place smells like mildew and very little selection of film. not helpful. i don't feel comfortable going back and asking for a redo or a refund because i feel like they wouldn't do it anyway. i also never got my emailed photos read more

I am really disappointed, this place seems super convenient and is close to me! I spent four months collecting photos for nothing to come of it. I saw the lady open up the film in front of me, which I thought was strange, but I assumed they had their own protocol and knew more than I did. Saw the mixed reviews yet wanted to still come here because I wanted to support small business. I imagine they all were impacted from Covid. CVS and Walgreens are doing just fine lol. This place was great! I came w three rolls of black and white film. Pulled up to the front of the shop w easy parking...and I believe it was the two owners operating right near the front desk. They were pleasant and quick to process my request. It was $20 per roll for digital scans which were promptly emailed to me within 48 hrs even though they stated it would be longer. I received it through a file transfer on email. Negatives can be picked up within two weeks. Lots of signs around stating their policies. Clear communication, lovely scan quality, and a great experience. I'll be back! read more

Extremely rude customer service. I never received the email that was supposed to have my photos on it and only received a text saying "there is no image". I asked a couple follow up questions but received no response and then when I called the man on the other end kept interrupting me when I was just trying to explain my confusion. He said I most likely loaded the film incorrectly and that's why the images were blank. I find that hard to believe because I've been using this camera for a long time now. They are consistently turning digital scans around in 24-48 hours for a reasonable price ($18 for one roll last time I went). They are quick, simple, and the development process they use is WORKING. I love this place. I found them a couple of months ago and never went anywhere else since. They develop film much quicker than other places and the quality is great. I also believe that it's family owned and whenever I come in they're short but nice. The process of giving them film and filling out the form takes 2 minutes and they charge less than some other places that I've been to. Right now, I believe, they charge about $19 per roll and you get the photos back the next day after 3pm. If you give them your film on Friday, you won't get the pictures back until Monday. They don't work Sunday. This is my favourite place! I never had a problem with them and always loved the photos I'd get back! I shoot on 35mm coloured film. read more

They have one price for scanning and one price only and the scans they give you are VERY HIGH RES straight from the fuji frontier they dont waste their time offering low medium or high res - They give you one price and one resolution and that resolution is Always HIGH RES, ALWAYS, they dont have a low res option. read more

I made the mistake of ignoring the bad reviews. I turned in 8 disposable cameras to Rose and received six back. One of the rolls is entirely lost. The other one included photos of Rose Photo Lab's store (see photos). It seems they used my cameras to take photos of boxes of film in their own store. I finished all of the camera exposures so I'm not sure how they did this without double exposure but I am very weirded out. I called Rose photo and they claim I took these photos which I did not. They also said my other missing roll was "blank" when they obviously lost it. The man on the phone aggressively shouted at me and hung up on my face when I asked for a refund for the two rolls that are lost since I clearly didn't take these photos. They then began texting me telling me that the "customer is often mistaken." They asked me to come into the store and check my negatives - why would I do that? The photos they're sending me are busted, I don't need to see busted negatives that consist of photos I didn't take. And I would feel uncomfortable returning to the store when they were aggressive on the phone. They are totally frauding customers. And it was expensive. I paid $145 for 8 rolls and was refused a refund for the two I didn't receive. read more

the best film developing quality that i've experienced in LA. every time i get my film back, i'm so thankful for having taken my rolls there - there are never any streaks, lines, dust particles, etc. you can tell they are handled by professional hands and machinery. the process is really easy to drop them off, too. i'm usually in and out within minutes (depending on how many rolls i have). one of my favorite things about their location, it's across the street from marukai (japanese market) so i always make a point to visit there as well. won't ever be going anywhere else! read more

Out of all the places i've been too, rose photo lab has the kindest employees, sharpest images, and fastest turn around. I've gotten photos back in less than 24 hours before. never more than 48! the family is soooo kind and always very patient. this is by far the best photo I have ever been to. Actual star rating - ZERO, A HUGE ZERO. I dropped photos off this past Saturday, and was told that they would be ready on Tuesday after 3pm. Tuesday I received nothing. Wednesday, I decided to reach out for an update. Not only was the person who answered the phone rude, but wouldn't stop talking long enough to answer my question. I was told that he was in the middle of a project and I would have to call back in 2-3 hours. A couple hours later I received SOME of my photos and SOME of someone else's photos. Instead of calling, I sent an email making them aware and requesting that the remainder of my photos be sent. I dropped off 3 rolls of film and only received 1 roll of 28 out of 36 photos. No response. Today, I called to make them aware and was informed that my other 2 rolls didn't process correctly, and that I would need to come in so that he could show me. When I arrived, he provided me with 4 envelopes of photos; 2 were from my disposable cameras,1 from my roll of film (3 in total) and the last was SOMEONE ELSES PERSONAL PHOTOS. He went on to say that two of my rolls didn't print. Fine. But when I asked for the negatives, he provided me only one. I then made him aware again that he had given me SOMEONE ELSES PHOTOS and that I wanted my negatives that didn't print. I was told that I didn't give him enough time to find them. 1. He emailed ME saying my photos were ready. 2. He asked ME to come in so he could show me the negatives 3. He is running a business where he is responsible for processing peoples special moments and HE should be organized and careful. Instead, he continued to try to give me someone else's photos and couldn't provide me with mines. Stating that he would have to look for them and wait for someone to claim them. Needless to say, I will never go back. They are unable to listen and communicate without cutting you off. I am a customer. I paid a little over $100 to get moments developed, all for them to be mishandled. read more

At $18 a roll for scans and developing, Rose One Hour Photo is more expensive than other places but I wanted to support a local business, especially for film developing. Instead I have never been more disappointed. After dropping more than $100 here, I received low-quality, pixelated scans and others that were covered in a layer of dust or maybe some sort of hair and VERY visible on my photos. When I went to pick up my negatives, I was met by an extremely rude man who basically told me to go find my own envelope in a tub filled with them. That was not a big deal but seeing as they did such a terrible job with the scans, I was shocked that they would treat customers so rudely. I am now rescanning my own negatives despite paying to get it done in the first place. read more

Dropping a review because idk why there are so many negative ones. I've gotten 8 rolls developed here and I'm always going to come back because of price and location. It's a straightforward process: use the pens they provide on the paper towel on the counter (they've already been sanitized) and fill out the package with your name, email, and phone. I always ask for emailed scans so they check your email address, letter by letter, to get it right. I receive the email in 24 hours usually, sometimes up to 36 hours later. Go back in a few days to pick up negatives, tell them which day you brought in the roll to develop, and they will locate the bin with all of the negatives developed in that time range, and you look for your negatives in the bin. Idk why other people are complaining that they have to look through the bin themselves...it's always fine and it's quicker and easier for me to look myself anyway. read more

I hate this place honestly. The workers are so rude for no reason. They don't even know how to properly develop your photos and aren't ever clear. I said I wanted print only and I got digital instead. I didn't even get the email because they opened my camera and everything was black, therefore I didn't get a single photo. I had photos from my high school years and they just ruined everything. I don't recommend coming here they overprice the hell out of your cameras and are just straight up rude. I don't understand the negative reviews. Complaints seem to be mostly about passport photos, which are ALWAYS bad, I don't care if you're Kate Moss. It's a government conspiracy! As far as I'm concerned, this is the only place to get your film developed on the West Side. Knowledgeable staff (the owners process the film themselves), family operated, fair prices and conveniently located with ample street parking out front. I am so grateful to the folks at Rose Photo. Their service is quick, friendly, professional, and the prints are high-quality. I have developed several rolls of 35 mm color film there and it's always gorgeous quality when it comes developed. Additionally, one of the owners fixed my camera's light meter right in front of me in about 20 seconds, where other shops have told me light meter changes are a long complicated process. I have been bringing my film here for two years now. $18 a roll for color developing, and scans send via a download link thru email within 2 days. Usually even next day turn around, unless it's a Friday beware they don't develop on weekends. Otherwise 10/10 in turnaround and quality. Highly recommend. read more
