Here are the issues we encountered: 1. Pressured at intake to fill out many forms. No time to read and understand them. No copies of these forms given to us so we did not know about the $70 fee for cancelling with less than 24hr notice. 2. Cancellation fee is excessive based on actual time the therapist spend with us (15 minutes). 3. No 'empathy' from staff for someone who has cancer, recent back surgery and could not get out of bed. Called as soon as we could but no one ever answers the phone. 4. A one sided arrangement. Therapist was always at least 10 minutes late for appointments but we get charged for a late cancellation. This says they do not value their clients time. 5. Quick to threaten. When asked about the fairness of a late charge, their first response is to threaten to turn you over to collections. 6. No reminder calls or texts. A reminder which should include cancel fee information is not part of their business process. Conclusion: Poorly run business with poor business practices. There are many physical therapy services in our area. Choose another. read more

Thank you, from myself and CHC, for taking care of our patients. We've all sorts of patients, all sorts of insurances. Somehow you fit our people in, and give the best care. Had a tricky situation a few days ago, and you were not, at first, able to accommodate, due to insurance stipulations. Of course, also being a business, I respect that. Insurance can be a real headache. I must say, after a call and discussion, very thoughtful and empathetic, might I add, you were able to work with our client. I realize this may not always be the case, as the insurance companies run our lives, but, in this case, you truly made a difference. Nothing but kudos to you all. This is the second time I've seen Genene now it's for my left knee. I have arthritis and torn meniscus. She helped me strengthen my leg muscles and I've improved tremendously. Unfortunately she told me they will no longer be taking CCPN which is awful. Don't understand. Anyway, the office people are always nice and I get good appointments. read more

Really inconsistent experiences with this clinic. I've been referred twice for pt here. First time I was paired with an excellent therapist who unfortunately I was only able to see a couple of times before being switched to a guy who was not helpful at all and honestly only made things worse. A couple of years later I was back and this time I had another excellent therapist who was very helpful only to end up extremely disappointed with their office staff. I missed an appointment due to them not giving a reminder call that I had an appointment after receiving a call for every single other appointment I have had with them. After their failure I was then charged a missed appointment fee, and also had to deal with their very unpleasant receptionist. Never missed an appointment or payment before that and they just refused to take any responsibility for their mistake. Really too bad but in future I will be seeking treatment elsewhere. I would suggest finding a different office as it's just not worth the hassle dealing with inconsistent care and lack of professionalism in the front office. read more

Shelly at physical therapy specialists is amazing! She is extremely knowledgable and wonderful to work with. She helped me recover from numbness in my finger and palm after herniated discs in the neck and a slipped vertebrae. I was very symptomatic for almost 3 months and she got me back to feeling good again. I returned to yoga and my exercises and I am feeling hopeful again. Everyone at Physical Therapy Specialists seems great and they are all very nice and uplifting. I recommended Shelly to a friend recently who is already doing so much better. Based on my experience with Robert, I would never recommend him. He treated the referral and refused to hear my pathology. He read lower back, had me bend, and remarked about my flexibility and proceeded to show me flexibility exercises. When I brought up problems I was experiencing he became a pretentious prick and asked me not diagnose and had me do exercises I could have you tubed. read more

I've had professional physical therapy 3 times in my life over an extended period. This was not that. The owner should probably retire; just doesn't seem to have a spark for his profession. He would rather watch frisbee golf than take care of his patients. You can walk in & tell he is the owner. Easy to find him. Everyone else is busy, he's watching TV. Hard to get motivated under circumstances and supervision like that. Read the other negative reviews. He continually walked away during exercises. His mind was always someplace else. Which is where I recommend you go. I NEED physical therapy. Nobody needs this. Can't rate lower. read more

Excellent care! These physical therapists are very dedicated people. I worked with Chuck and have been very pleased with the work he did with me for positional vertigo. He was excellent at explaining what he was doing and got results. The staff is positive and thoughtful. And just so you all know, it is stated up front that if you cannot make an appointment, you must call 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for the missed appointment. This was my very first experience with having physical therapy. I was healing a dislocated shoulder that happened in February with therapy lasting until August. Unfortunately with a convoluted appointment system and dove-tailed appointments, I didn't feel taken care of appropriately. The reception was great. My first appointment was an evaluation along with making two weeks worth of appointments. Oh but wait! We don't have any appointments available but the receptionist will put me on a list to get called if anything becomes available. This type of scheduling happened 80% of the time between April and August. If I got the call at work and couldn't answer, the appointment time was given to another client. My appointments with Chuck were dove-tailed. 15 minutes into a 30 minute appointment he had another client. First 15 mins was individual time....oh but wait, "Johnny, ok now do 3 mins of this, I'll set the timer." Oh now back to the first client laying on the table, waiting. Ring ring, the timer goes off. Again he tells Johnny what to do next. I will not return. I felt very uncared for and didn't feel I was receiving the support I needed. The last straw is the reason I am writing this. I was suppose to be released with a set of exercises to do. But Chuck didn't have time to print them out so he asked for my email. 2 weeks later I stopped by the office to remind Chuck. He profusely apologized. 3 weeks later there was a message left on my phone. Chuck needed my email address again :( read more

I recently had knee surgery for a torn miniscus. I'm so glad I went to Physical Therapy Specialists and saw Shelly Allis for my recovery. She skillfully guided me through recovery for weeks and kept me from doing too much while strengthening my knee with effective exercises all the while. Thieves! And Liars! Unbelievable! Totally unprofessional! I never have been billed for services NOT rendered from any sort of medical "professionals". Ever. 3 months after my last visit I was billed for "Self Care Management", which I did NOT receive and my insurance did not cover, because they requested what type of self care (home) management was given. NONE WAS GIVEN. All previous appointments were covered until I choose not return since I was not getting any better. Then 3 months later I'm slapped with a bill!!!!!!!! PT Joanne Hatcher is just trying to fill her pockets by billing patient for services not rendered! Video tape all appointments unless you want to get a big bill after you choose to end their so called "services". I've been there twice now for both knees. My first total knee replacement was in December of 2015. I got Joann. I was very nervous at first after having a bad experience with a therapist who decided my knee should be at full bend and straightening right out of the hospital. The pain was excruciating! I talked to Joann and she reassured me that she did not operate that way. She took a gentler and more effective approach and I was very happy to hear that. She not only helped put my knee back in working order within the month, but also gave me a lot of encouragement and tips for easing the pain. I finished up my month able to walk again without a cane, even up and down stairs! So when it was time to go back after my second total knee replacement in May of 2016, I asked for Joann again. She greeted me like an old friend and off we went. She was surprised at how much better my knee was compared to the first one and told me she would basically work on strengthening both knees now. I still have 3 more sessions and my knee is already at 130 degrees on the bend and 0 degrees on the straightening. I have had much more pain with this knee and Joann has helped me get through it with her much appreciated encouragement and also her tips for controlling the pain! First visit and feel very positive and happy deciding to go with them. Had broken my lower fibula and dislocated my foot. Had surgery 8 wks ago been having hard time walking without pain but not on the side where the broken bone is. They think there is more to it. Feel confident they will fix me. Outstanding staff. My bad experience is over the customer service. I had to reschedule a appointment I had a hour and a half before the scheduled times due to my 3 month old granddaughter having to go to urgent care, I explained the situation & was told there would not be a missed apointment fee of $45.00. It showed up on my statement so I called & they had no recollection or notes of my cancellation & would not budge on the charge. . All I can say is it's disappointing that a professional business would say one thing and do the other. Not always do people give grace back when grace is Given or is their word really their word. Focused, Intense Physical Therapy- Amazing Trainer! I had suffered an extremely painful Sciatic Nerve issue from a lower back injury that had me on serious pain killers and marginalized at work, which I could only take for a few hours. My Trainer: Chuck Barstow was exactly what I needed: he guided me on several intense exercises and held me accountable for doing the exercises at home. My recovery took 3 solid weeks of rehab and after he showed me exercises that would align my spine, I started feeling better. Baby steps at first, then walking, then running. Rather upset at there customer service. It's all about that dollar over patient care here. I went through work comp here before and they were ok. I'm sent back a couple years later. And they deny me help because they assume they're gonna get stiffed by insurance. Seriously if that were even the case bill me. But even after I proved my insurance has shelled out properly.
