I went 4 times and each time I felt completely lost and not listened to. Each time I had a different therapist and they seemed to rush me through with just exercises that felt like it was wrong for my situation but I was given no explanations. When I asked for explanations, I was talked down to and treated like trash. Kept thinking it would get better but it never did. All 4 times were horrendous. Would never go back. EDIT AFTER OWNERS COMMENTS: "You're sorry that it did not meet my expectations" ??? I expected one therapist that got to know me and listened to my concerns .. is that too much to ask?? read more

The office is well run from registration to ice therapy at the end. Mt PT was very young, but also very knowledgeable. She has a doctorate and really knows her stuff. She diagnosed my hip pain and I felt improvement after just a few visits. You do have to do the exercises at home along with the therapy. read more

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia/polymyalgia. I met with Julie and she took an in-depth history. The second time I went in I refused to get on the stationary bike due to pain. When she was informed of this, she was haughty. She made a feeble attempt at stretching my legs and then informed me there was nothing she could do for me. I agreed. She also said as I was getting ready to leave that she didn't have a magic pill and if she did she would be rich. Wow, um.... Ok. I have since gone to see Jeff Miller, at Cornerstone PT. He also took an end up history and knew exactly what I needed. He started me with sedation therapy which has done wonders to relieve my pain as well as other therapies which do seem to be helping. This this is a chain of offices. I always arrived early for appointments and would watch the staff interactions with patients. What I saw were therapists looking off in the distance, appearing very bored, and disinterested in what was going on. My therapist did the same things so I decided to have a conversation so they would at least pay attention. They have a method: 8 minutes on the bike or "arm bike." Eight minutes of stretching. Some basic, light exercises that I already do at home, then 10 minutes on ice. There was no effort to try to unkink the knots and tightness in my neck and shoulders. Their treatment was to strengthen muscles. Yes, that it important, but useless if I can do those exercises at home. I need a PT to help with what I cannot do myself. My referring doctor told me to find a PT who will actually touch the patients to rectify the problem. This was at the AG office. read more

At 81 with seven decades of aggressive tennis taking its toll, I've long-since become a frequent-flier in PT centers from coast to coast, experiencing the best and worst. And after a career of management consulting with healthcare organizations like Mayo Clinic, I know quality when I see it--and know when it's not there. In addition, a friend who is a PT at nearby hospital recommended them to me when I had my most recent need. So you can trust me when I say that San Luis Sports Therapy is not only the best I've ever experienced but also just about as good as its possible to get. For starters, the majority of the PT staff has advanced degrees (predominantly a doctorate). But more important than being well trained, they know how to practice their profession with intense focus on the whole of their clients, not just on an ailing joint. They size up your whole situation and tailor the therapy to both the physiological issue and the client's makeup, so that the work you're doing is not only efficacious but also congenial enough that you want to keep doing it on your own, because it fits your motivation and capabilities. And I can't say enough about the aides, who are not only exceptionally well trained but are amazingly attentive to everyone and everything that is going on around them; on innumerable occasions, one who was not working with me would notice something that I was doing--or not doing--and come over to offer a word of advice or support. And I should also say that the administrative staff is equally wonderful to work with. The whole place operates like a fine-tuned orchestra. I can't imagine why anyone within commuting distance would ever go anywhere else. read more

I was very disappointed with this place. My initial eval on my one hour appointment lasted about 20 mins. My first appointment was disappointing also. they have you warm up for 6 mins then see a therapist. I saw mine for a whole 21 mins on this hour appointment, and it was a stand in therapist. On my next appointment after my 6 min warm up i spent a whole 21 mins with my therapist after both appointments i dont even feel as though they have addressed anything with my shoulder issue So 3 one hour appointments and i actually was with a therapist a total of about 60 mins. What a waist of time and money here. I would not recommend this place for treatment read more

Brad at the Arroyo Grande location has an amazing skill set to treat vertigo. He was sensitive to my situation and patient with me and my symptoms. Brad made himself available by phone when I began having varying symptoms after receiving a treatment session, easing my concerns. Great staff and facility made my rehab a great experience. I first went to San Luis Sports Therapy for pulmonary rehab, trying to maintain my lung capacity and strength while waiting for a lung transplant due to IPF. The dig a wonderful job tailoring a program to my needs and keeping me as healthy as possible. I returned to San Luis Sports Therapy a few months after receiving a bilateral lung transplant. They again tailored a program to help me regain strength and conditioning post transplant. They contributed greatly to my mostly trouble-free post transplant recovery. read more

I'm 56 years old and visited many doctors offices and physical therapy in the past for injuries. While entering and seeing my paperwork it was obvious my insurance was not going to pay for it. San Luis Sports Therapy should have notified and did not. It was really uncomfortable when I told them I couldn't pay the several hundred per week out of pocket. I felt like I had a disease. I told them I wanted the evaluation and would have to think about it. I barely filled the paper out and returned it and I was waiting for the physical therapist and the woman behind the desk comes out to me in front of people and asked me how I was going to pay for it. I understand that payment is upon services rendered but golly gee I hadn't even been seen yet and my discomfort was growing. I'm thinking this place only cares about getting their money even before I've spoken to a therapist. Their therapist could be great, but my experience with the front desk was very unpleasant. read more
