My husband and I both are new patients to the North Atlanta Primary Care/Southeast Medical Group…read more We had complete physical exams today with Dr. Tharani Sundararajan. We found Dr. Sundararajan to be thorough, highly knowledgeable and very caring. She took the time to talk and listen to us. She asked all the right questions and ordered the appropriate blood work and follow-up care. She was genuinely caring and explained everything clearly and made us feel well-cared for. The clinic was also well run despite a lot of patients. We were seen within about half an hour and every staff member was very nice, friendly and professional, from the check in to the medical assistant and phlebotomist. We are really happy to be part of this practice.

I had one of the worst experiences with this family practice. I woke up with a fever, body aches,…read moreand feeling absolutely miserable, so I called to ask about walk-ins. They told me they take walk-ins from 7:30-8:30 AM. I rushed to get ready, dragged myself out of bed despite feeling awful, and drove there. I arrived at 8:03 AM--only to be told that the walk-ins were "full" and they weren't accepting any more. Instead, they offered me an appointment in the afternoon. What is the point of advertising walk-in hours if you're going to cut them off after just a handful of patients? Walk-in should mean you can walk in and be seen during that posted time frame--especially if you arrive 30 minutes before the cutoff. Otherwise, don't call it walk-in. If you're poorly staffed or can't handle it, then shorten the walk-in hours or don't offer them at all. It is rude and unacceptable to make sick people drive there only to turn them away at the door. People go to walk-in because they need to be seen quickly and can't wait. Driving there sick, with a fever, only to be refused was frustrating, disorganized, and frankly the final straw. This isn't the first bad experience I've had here, but it keeps getting worse. The office is unorganized and inconsistent. If you're actually sick and hoping to be seen quickly, don't waste your time with this practice.

My first impression was that it's a huge space with lots of rooms. So incredibly clean. The nurse took my stats and showed me to a very comfortable room that had two chairs and a table. I liked that I could sit in the chair while waiting for the doctor. The doctor came in, was very friendly and professional, and wasted no time getting to work. They were able to do a strep and flu test and in no time had my results. When I left, they gave me Rx (I had strep), and a get well bag. When I got home and opened it, it had chicken noodle soup, a face mask, some tea, hand sanitizer, cough drops, and tissues. My visit was Saturday and they called me tonight (Monday) to check up on me and to see how I was feeling. All this, and they're "just an urgent care." Amazing. I've found a new place to go when I'm not feeling well.

Inform patients of extended wait times at check-in, especially when the office is short-staffed…read more * Develop a process for drug-screen patients who urgently need to provide a specimen after arriving, rather than forcing them to wait for hours in discomfort. * Ensure only properly trained and qualified personnel are handling drug screening procedures and chain-of-custody documentation. * Require all necessary paperwork, medication disclosures, and consent forms to be completed consistently before or during the testing process. * Improve communication with patients throughout the visit so they understand what is happening and what to expect. * Maintain a cleaner, more sanitary testing area and specimen collection space. * Have contingency staffing plans in place when employees call out to prevent excessive delays. * Show greater compassion and professionalism toward patients who are clearly distressed or uncomfortable.
