I ordered pho I believe it was #11. Idk but it was delicious! As well as my Thai tea with boba. The service was amazing as well. Safe to say I will be back for my pho cravings during this cozy weather

A solid spot for Vietnamese cuisine, served in an inviting larger than expected restaurant with an inviting relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. The service was excellent--our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The food came out surprisingly fast, which was a pleasant surprise. The dishes we ordered were fresh and satisfying--definitely enjoyable--but nothing that completely blew us away. It's good, reliable Vietnamese food, though not particularly standout or inventive. That said, I'd come back. Between the ambiance, great staff, and quick service, this place makes for an easy and enjoyable meal out.

Stopped in after our massages to grab lunch. The staff were super friendly and we were served quickly. The inside was very clean. I ordered the Sizzling Beef and my husband ordered the Pho Dac Biet. My sizzling beef was super flavorful and tender. I appreciated the rice as it absorbed all of the wonderful flavor from the beef. My husband said the broth from the pho was very good. The only thing he didn't like was the brisket was tough. Other than that, everything was delightful and we'd definitely return!

I came here with some family after their flight landed in the late evening. This was one of the only Vietnamese spots in SD near the airport that was open pretty late to accommodate us. Most of my family got the Pho which when I tasted the broth it was ok. This was actually one of the most disappointing Bo Luc Luc (shaken beef) meals I have ever had. The meat was cut up into super small cubes that you really couldn't taste any meat in a single bite. Because they were cut up so small as well it felt overcooked and burnt. Even the onions were bigger than the meat portions. They are open till 10pm which is great but parking is a bit tough as it's just street parking. There is a paid lot nearby but given that you have to go through the trouble is not worth it in my opinion to come here. If I lived in the area this would be a nice place to walk by and grab pho if I'm craving it but again this isn't a place I would consider worth going out of the way for. Prices are pretty high for Vietnamese food considering that the portions are smaller than usual. The area makes it more pricey as well. However, service was great and it wasn't super packed.

We visited PHO Fifth Ave. on Friday night. The reason we ate there is that it is the only pho place open until 10 p.m., while most pho restaurants in the area close at 9 p.m. We arrived around 9 p.m., and there were still six tables with customers dining. We ordered the Char-Grilled Shrimp Paste on Sugar Cane Rolls ($9), which were really delicious. The P4 Pho Tai Tau Gan Sach ($17, large) was good and had a big portion, which I couldn't finish. I should have ordered the regular size for $15 instead of the large. All the meats--beef, fatty brisket, flank, tendon, and tripe--were very good. The only issue was that the noodles weren't hot enough and were hard to separate. The P1 Pho Dac Biet ($18) was also good. The only difference between P1 and P4 is that P1 includes meatballs, while P4 does not. The service was good and quick. We will definitely visit again whenever we're in San Diego.

The best pho spot in SD! This veggie pho is what my dreams are made of... it's always so savory and delicious with the freshest ingredients and toppings. The crispy egg rolls are a MUST! Absolutely love this spot and would highly recommend over any other pho restaurant. When i'm feeling sick or run down, i swear this soup cures me every time

To our surprise, our vermicelli dish was extra large! Larger than we expected. Definitely not the normal bowl size we usually order at other pho restaurants. Our server had informed us that they offered a larger bowl, another size up for $21. Our dish was delicious and generously portioned (grilled chicken and pork). Just right seasoning, however, the noodles could have used a little longer cooking time. Our server was friendly and welcoming. I did like the open setting, cushioned chairs, Vietnamese picture frame decor on the wall, and chill music. Pho Fifth Avenue, in Hillcrest, was definitely a nice dining experience. I plan to return

Grilled chicken and steak Banh mi

Always squabble with my partner because I want to order from here and they want to order from a different pho place and here's why: this place has the best banh mi I've tried in San Diego. I love their regular banh mi, but the chicken one is also great and the grilled steak banh mi is best of all!! However, their pho always suffers from DoorDashing it. It usually arrives with broth not hot enough and one time it ate right through its packaging and flooded the bag. My partner doesn't have the same experiences when we order delivery pho from other places, so wondering if it's just getting the takeout materials tweaked? I don't know but I'll come back for the banh mi forever.

The noodle was tough, and the meat looked like it was a thousand years old. I would not come back here again.

We phoned in before driving there and they answered all our concerns and questions. The staff were all very friendly, very accommodating, and the place was organized and decorated. The plating/presentation was nice, and the food was decent. The pricing was also reasonable. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking is a bit limited, and was a bit busy and not as easy to get into--also, the restaurant has you order up front and they'll bring you the food to your table. The water is self-serve. Overall, a good first time experience. We're not from the area but would definitely come back to try more items on their menu.

The noodles the smoked duck was a great size for sharing and came with lots of veggies and sides. The duck was perfectly cooked and delicious. The noodles were yummy but were outshined by the rest of the dishes. We ordered the pickled papaya and marinated cucumbers for sides. In hindsight we definitely had too much food and probably didn't need the sides but both were great compliments to the other dishes. For cocktails I ordered the nuoc mami but ended up preferring the water buffalo. Both were good but I did really enjoy the clarified pho reduction in the water buffalo. Service was friendly and attentive. They packaged up our menu nicely as we were celebrating birthdays. Overall I had a great first time at Kingfisher and would definitely recommend a try.
