Open under new ownership Natalie and her husband A are the new owners and operators of the Piccadilly Grill. They are from Thailand and have been here about three months. They are some of the most friendly people you could ever ask for. They have a friendly menu and prices are a bit more reasonable than most other small diners or grills around It has been redecorated and the menu is no longer written on the wall. The first time I was in, I had a beefy bowl, which is something I had never seen before it's made with rice, steak, onions, and either soy or some kind of Thai sauce. I'm not sure which but it was really tasty. They have the normal breakfast and brunch selections to choose from. Please stop in and try them and tell them Mark sent you. Great Food, Great Service and Great Staff! New owners and just opened 3 weeks ago. Food made in front of you. Small place right across from the George Washington Hotel. Formerly the Piccadilly Grill Diner now it has new ownership, a new menu and it is a great breakfast and a great value. Prefer dining here over a chain like Bob Evans, Denny's or IHOP! Large fluffy pancakes and eggs cracked and made to order. The hash brown potatoes were very good as well. The owner is very pleasant and warmly greets you when you walk in. There is nothing fancy at all about this little joint that is a block or two away from the pedestrian mall in Winchester. It's a grill and that's about it. If you're looking for a salad or Eggs Benedict or a prime rib, go elsewhere. This is breakfast food for locals and it's great stuff. I sat at the counter and had a good view of the grill. I was able to watch the cook pull the potatoes from the drawer, run them over the grater right onto the grill, slice up some onions and cook my home fries right to order. Just when they were nearly done, eggs were cracked into a bowl, mixed up and poured onto the grill, topped with cheese, flipped, folded and put on the plate with my toast. Was pleasantly surprised to find outdoor seating and service. Even more pleased to find a great selection of good food served on real dishes with real cutlery. The steamed shrimp and salmon were approved by my daughter and I enjoyed the Pub Burger. Will bring the car club here sometime. Highly recommended. read more

We are traveling from Charlotte to Syracuse and are familiar with 81. We needed to stop for lunch so that our 1 year old could stretch his legs. This is a few miles off of 81, but in downtown Winchester, so we got to see some of the town on the way in. The beer menu has some great local options and the food menu was exactly what we were looking for. Our son loved the battered fries and some of the kids' burger. I had a well-seasoned and well cooked burger and my husband loved the blackened beef wrap. We sat on the covered patio since the weather was iffy. The inside looks very cool and historic, and the patio would be fun for happy hour/evening. The boat stage is particularly cool. read more

As soon as he saw us he ducked in the back without even acknowledging us. We waited about 5 minutes for him to come back. An old fashioned small diner that serves its customers at the counter. Their diner is limited to about a dozen patrons and Take Out is also available. The food is fresh and delicious! Their cheese steak sub with peppers & onions is the best I've had outside of Philly. It's a one man show, but he does not disappoint. Breakfast food is the main draw but their cheeseburgers are also scrumptious! We are looking forward to a return trip in the near future. read more

Very strange experience. Writing this review so others know what to expect. This is not the Piccadilly Grill that most of these reviews talk about (it's the same location but I think reviews were for old owner). Walked in and guy is wearing head phones he never takes off. Points at the wall and says that's the menu. There are around 5 things on it. Total. Eggs, pancakes, toast, a cheeseburger and a cheesesteak. I order the cheeseburger with fries. "We don't have fries, only home fries." I go with it. During the time I'm there two different sets of customers walk in seemingly excited to eat at the old Piccadilly only to realize this isn't it. Both walk out. Guy behind the counter doesn't bat an eye or seem to care. I can only assume this happens regularly. Cheeseburger was decent (passable basic burger) but they didn't even have mustard available and it was served on white bread not bun. I gave it three stars because the burger was okay and the guy wasn't rude, he just didn't seem to care whether he ever had a customer again in his life. If you want anything other than the things I listed above, don't go here. read more

They had me at SCRAPPLE which was written on the top right of the window. Ok this really is a true hidden gem and we were happy to stumble across it. If you're staying at the George Washington Wyndham do NOT eat breakfast at the hotel. Go across the street and meet Abed (Ah-bed) and watch him prepare your food. He's a really nice dude too. We had the biscuits and gravy, scrapple sandwich, and grilled cheese and fries. Abed literally took out fresh potatoes and cut them into fries with a chef knife. He cuts them to order! This is a hidden gem in Winchester. "Diesel" reopened this diner about 9 months ago. He brought new life into the diner and his passion for good food is immediately evident in his conversation and food presentation. We went for breakfast and ordered the steak and eggs and "Nancy's" omelet. Both of which were reasonably priced and fantastic. There is a steady stream of locals that come in while you are there. You can get something to go or sit and talk for a while. The next time we come to Winchester, we will definitely be back to visit. read more

Greasy spoon , but good burger. We will NOT be back to this restaurant! The price on the chalkboard was 10.95. With the two of our orders the total shoul have been $21, but it was$35 and my friend was kind to leave an additiona l tip on that. When I asked why it was 35, he replied,"grocery priced have gone up" he then pointed to a little sign off to the side where he had written out "prices may vary". Who would expect to leave here with over $40 bill for two sandwiches? We were totally ripped of and taken advantage of! This was two days before Appleblossom. Also, he poured pre-cut mushrooms on grill for my Philly cheesesteak and then while I was eating, I watched take that container of slimy mushrooms and throw them in the trash. read more

Really fun Bar & Grill. The food is pretty good. The drinks are just ok. The service is just ok as well. We had one rude waitress and another waiter that would ask if you wanted refills on drinks and when you say no he comes right back and throws away your drink before you are finished with it. The outdoor area is what makes this place great. There are tables out in the courtyard and a stage built on a boat where bands perform live entertainment.
