1. Food: The food came out quick. Although they don't offer substitutions, they were able to change my meal from meatballs to both meatballs and sausage. However, the food came out warm but not hot. Also, they had given me penne instead of spaghetti like I had asked. Regardless, the food was surprisingly good. 2. Service: Our waiter came to our table very few times. When I was there, it was extremely busy with online and take-out orders, so this makes sense. She was nice and understanding. 3. Ambiance: The place is small and cozy, but lacks space. The actual design of the building is done for takeout and a few tables on the side. It's a nice place to eat, since it's not very crowded. What gives this review a 4/5 is the food, which tasted great. The service is also a winner here. Pepperoni pizza, large lump crab margherita pizza, bbq tenders, fries.... And when you enter for your order you have to wonder if they really know you...staff was just that pleasant. You know that disturbed feeling you get when you order wings and find out they only have tenders so disappointment and concern arise....well let me just say these tenders that they hand dip so that it feels like you are biting into a wing erases that, even the sauce was truly tasty and not just something you have to put up with just for a piece of chicken. I like pepper flakes and grated part on my pie so not sure what the crab margherita tastes like without it, but with it I had two fixes in one. Fries nice crispy hot and tasty. I just had the BEST cheesesteak in Ocean City!!! I am so happy right now because while there are a couple of above average choices, no one approaches exceptional till now. Kudos to the new owners who allow ordering sandwiches at dinner time. This was not allowed with prior ownership. So while the rest of the family opted for the usual pasta and seafood choices, I decided to try the cheesesteak. First thing you notice is a good amount of meat with a good chop to it. The fried onions are barely noticeable because they are chopped well and mixed in with the meat instead of laying a pile of stringy onions on top which is prevalent at other establishments down here. The first bite told me I was going to enjoy this experience. The cheese was melted and mixed into the meat so you tasted cheese in every bite. The roll was very good and did a great job holding all that meat. Finally it was seasoned perfectly. I will be back for sure and am hoping to see that they are made consistently this way. I came here while I was on vacation in Sea Isle, NJ. We were trying to find a place near the boardwalk and noticed this place was featured on DDD. They had seating inside and outside. It was a little chilly that day and I was hoping to get a seat inside since I had my 2 kids. We waited a while. When they say you're going to wait an hr, you're going to wait an hr. It seemed like it would be faster to call in the order and eat it in the car. There were many parties that arrived after us seated before us. I just wonder if they could've pushed those tables together for us. It was 7 of us (2 were kids) but we waited... We were seated outside and luckily they turned the heaters on. We ordered our pizzas and others got pasta at the table. The mushroom pizza was a little bit of a disappointment. Maybe it should've had a white sauce instead of tomato. After a long day of walking in the heat, an impromptou self-catered happy hour and an afternoon nap left participants of this year's girly trip incapable of making any decisions. Also, some of us (me) may have already had jammies on by 6:00 PM and it looked like no one was about to volunteer to pick up food. So delivery it was. We ordered two pizzas and an impressive order of mussels in fra diavlo sauce with angel hair pasta. Both pizzas were really good, and though my friend loved her cheeseburger pizza, I found the pickle in it a bit... off-putting. A bite from that was enough for me. I did love the pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni though. The pasta was delicious, nice and spicy and plenty of mussels, though I felt the angel hair pasta itself was a bit gummy. Overpriced and below average food. Two stars only because the food was edible. The crab pomadora pizza was nothing to write home about. The crab was mushy and waterlogged, definately been in a can for a while. Not sure how fresh is defined at the establishment, but when asked to not include cheese (it comes with provolone) on the chicken sorentino we were told they'd have to see if it was possible. This was for a health reason and not pickiness. We were then told they would do it only because they werent busy (I dont see how NOT adding a slice of cheese is a time burden unless it was premade). The chicken was also definately frozen as the breading pealed off like a shell. Lastly the restroom would make you regurgitate anything you managed to eat. Will not be going back. read more

We went here after looking at the menu online. It looked good in the pics and menu sounded great. When we got there there was no indoor eating area. Only a small area in the outside where you could take your take out. We ordered tortellini carbonara which was pretty, garlic and oil pasta which was decent but completely soaking in oil, chicken parm which was inedible and spaghetti and meatballs which was inedible. Ever since it changed hands, the place has gone downhill. The new owners like to play games. We placed an order over the phone (once we could get through) and were told it was an 1hr 15 min wait. We called and cancelled it 10 minutes later so we could eat elsewhere. They call back immediately and said it was up next and would we like to keep the order. We said yes, got there, paid for it only to wait an hour for them to bring it out. The food is not worth the wait or the games they play. Down the shore for a little vacation and looking for some good take out. Chose Piccini because of Triple D a few years ago. Got entrees, not the pizza they are known for, but I will try next time. Got the pasta with baby clams, really good and great portion. Also got spaghetti and meatballs, they graciously honored my request to have the meatballs and sauce separate from the pasta for my picky son. Came here completely by random and was blown away! Spent the day at the beach and needed a good meal afterwards and so lucky that we found a great place!! Ordered three different items. First the cheesy bread sticks, the portion was huge and the seasoning was great. Secondly we ordered Pasta primavera in white wine sauce, the veggies were cut small which was perfect, sauce was amazing and portion was huge!! Lastly we ordered the Sausage, broccoli rabe and white bean pasta. This was my entire and was incredible. Had so much spice and flavor, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, sausage and pasta worked well together. Took home leftovers and can't wait to enjoy tomorrow! Hmm... I'm an out-of-towner who went here hoping to get a quality pizza. Passable, if you're just looking for a decent pie that isn't on the Boardwalk. However, I specifically asked for a good char on the crust, and ordered the FRESH buffalo margherita pie. I definitely did NOT get fresh buffalo mozzarella! Also did not have any fresh basil, nor did the crust have a good char. It needs to "crackle" when you a slight fold. Come on guys! Also, why is the crust so peppery? Oooooh! This little spots food is on point! I was starving by the time I got here and ordered a medium Greek pizza AND a chicken Caesar salad. The pizza was great (the onions could've been cooked longer, but I'll request that the next time. I am sure there will be a next time). The chicken Caesar salad was very simple yet extremely tasty. The chicken was grilled just perfectly and it was nice and juicy. My friend had a chicken and spinach steak with onions and he said it was good. It looked very good. The servers were really nice. The one crazy thing was that they only take cash or check. I didn't even know people still paid for food with checks. So disappointed in this establishment. Been supporting them for years and never had service like tonight. I walked in and was picking up an order. One of the bag women asked me my name- I gave it to her and she rudely responded if it was under a first name, which it was not. Once she looked and found my order I paid and was again told to wait outside. I waited outside for 20 minutes, and about 5 minutes in I noticed the last piece of my meal be put on the shelf. Having worked in a restaurant I figured they were waiting on that missing piece. I waited ten more minutes because they were so unwelcoming before. Faithful Dining Companion, Pastor Baby Back Ribs, the Young 'Uns and I decided to stop here for take-out after a day on the Ocean City boardwalk. The Young 'Uns were in that particular state of exhaustion that made sitting down at any restaurant a Very Bad Idea. Parents, you understand. We've been to Piccini's before and enjoyed it. So, maybe this was an 'off' day. Or, maybe our memories made it better. It was, in a word, disappointing. We ordered the Pasta Garlic & Oil, (Aglio Olio), Ravioli with Meatballs, Chicken Cacciatore, Goat Cheese Pizza and a Chicken Parmesan hoagie. They didn't actually have the Parmesan hoagie on the menu, but said they could make it since they had it as an entree. NOTE to the wary: They made it, and charged us the $16 entree price. Most expensive sandwich ever, folks! We should have asked about the price first. The food was, in a word, underwhelming. The Aglio Olio lacked taste, the Raviolis and meatballs were very ordinary, the $16 sandwich was just OK. The Chicken Cacciatore was probably the best of the lot with good flavoring and plenty of chicken, and the goat cheese pizza was also quite good, done in a wood-fired oven. This very ordinary take-out meal set us back $76, folks, cash-only too as this place does not take credit or debit cards. Was this a $76 meal? Heck, no. I could see us in the future maybe going for the wood-fired pizza, but this will be the very last time we bother with the entrees or anything 'off menu'. Why didn't I know about the curly fries until tonight? They don't really have appetizers here, so those fries filled that gap and were fresh, hot and wonderful. My Margarita brick oven pizza was really good and the traditional pepperoni pizza was just behind. The spaghetti with garlic and oil was not bursting with flavor, but we made do by adding crushed hot peppers and Parmesan. No credit cards here and the seating inside is tight. But, the service is always good and they are reasonably accurate when they project your wait time for a table. I think the pasta dishes are what most people get. This is not the place to eat leisurely, but it is a solid choice in OC for moderately priced Italian if you can get in without too much of a wait. read more

Dropped in on Monday night for dinner. I have driven, walked and run by this restaurant for years and never dined here. Rockstar ordered salads and I ordered a sausage, mushroom and onion pizza for the two of us. The salads were very good. Big quantity, fresh, excellent dressing. The pizza was way off. Very soggy crust and almost tasted undercooked. Keep in mind they use a wood fired deck oven so it can be a different texture from a true deck oven. But I was taken by surprise at the mistake of allowing to much moisture to hit the crust which can be an issue with high moisture products such as mushrooms and onions. Even Rock Star commented on the quality of the pizza. Good thing she liked her salads. I am not coming back for the pizza. I will try their pasta dishes next time which I hear are very good. Always remember no booze in OC. It is a dry town. So they tend to jack up the food prices. Not a good price value relationship. Our server was excellent and very sweet and funny. read more

Went to the beach for a day trip all the way at the south end of OC. Found Piccini online by searching for pizza, and the authentic Italian (not New York) style and wood fire caught our attention. We ordered over the phone, and by the time we got there in 15 minutes, 4 pizzas were hot and ready. All of the employees, except the kitchen people, wore masks the proper way, and it was very organized and controlled for checkout flow. I felt very safe in regard to COVID, social distance, and cleanliness. We each got their 8" pizza, and it was perfect for one person. Super delicious. The Italian varieties were true and authentic to their origins. I had the Hawaiian - excellent, literally with the cherry on top. I didn't think the cherries would work, but they did. We will make this place a regular stop on our beach trips. read more
