Beautiful rice and beans and guacamole and sour cream. All full of amazing taste
Chris C.

Everything you get here is extremely delicious and authentic. Absolutely perfect balance of flavors and the cocktails are incredible also. Nice and strong but not overbearing. The steak quesadilla is my go to, it comes with some of the best guacamole you'll ever have. Not to mention the rice and means is phenomenal. I love the fact that this is a family owned and operated business. Everyone is quite friendly and happy to answer any questions. HIGHLY recommended!!!

I've been coming here since they opened and they just keep getting better and better. They have Mexican, Italian and seafood options to choose from. Also a great place to eat outdoors in the summer as it's right across the street from a beach. The staff is also very friendly and patient.

Very hospitable staff, very friendly enjoyed that. Margaritas were good/strong both frozen and rocks Plenty of food pork chop was massive and very good but be sure to order it medium not well done Hot sauce on the pork chop was awesome please bottle and sell it. Mariachi platter was filling but calamari was dry. Would try a different app next time

Steak Fajitas, AMAZING!

My wife and I planned to take our kids to Bayville Adventure park. We were running late and needed a place to take the kids. I'd been dying for some Mexican food and La Cantina Bay came up. I'd seen that one of the things that separates them from the other restaurants in the area was their customer service. The other reviews did not lie. This place was fantastic. From the minute we stepped through the door we felt welcomed. The view from any of the tables is pretty great, we sat window side and had a great view of the water and the park. Right off the bat, my kids also loved it because they offered several flavors of "Jarritos" (fantastic Mexican soda). We had the Nacho appetizers, it was a great choice. The pico de gallo was fresh, the black beans were flavorful, the beef was juicy and the chips were nice and warm. The nachos did have a bit of kick so watch out if you have little ones. While on the topic of kids, they had a pretty good kids menu. My son had the cheeseburger. This thing was huge and I"m pretty sure it was had made, my son demolished it. I had the steak fajitas, absolutely amazing. The steak and onions, peppers came out on a searing hot skillet. It came with a side plate with the refried beans, fresh guac, more pico de gallo and some of the freshest tortillas. My wife the had the steak burrito, this thing was the size of a football. And I stole a bite from my wife, I wished I'd had that as well. If you wanted place to sit down and enjoy an authentic meal, with a great view this is the place. What also made it great was the fact that they catered to kids. They stayed calm before the park and let my wife and I eat in peace. This is definitely a go-to place.

Combination fajita, steak chicken and shrimp it was huge and delicious

Yes they finally have a liquor license, plenty of beers and all tequilas !!! The food is very good almost like homemade the fajitas were gynormous, and delicious, we also tried the shredded pork it was very well flavored and the view of the water with the Mexican music in the background made you feel like you're on vacation

Great fajitas!! Delicious margs, and out of this world pork chop! This place has it all. The pasta and sauces are great too. At a new location in Bayville with a punch of flavor and the sweetest staff.

Tacos

Went to stop by a friends friends house and she wanted lunch. She picked the spot she was in the mood for Mexican. I didn't argue, it's best to never argue with a lady. So we came to this spot. First good news was plenty of parking. Also I Must say I enjoyed the feel of this place, I felt like I was far away on vacation with the Spanish look and music playing in the background. This place his family owned and that means they run it with love! They proved it with the great service. It wasn't busy at all so we had are run of the place. I got a chicken burrito that was good, I mean really good. My friends got tacos and she liked them a lot. They also said they plan on opening more locations, I hope they come out East, it would be a welcomed addition. I would definitely come back with a group because you feel like your on a Mexican getaway. If you do go pack sun screen because this place is hot!

Very excited to come back to Gioia, but unfortunately this will be my last visit…read more The meal started on a positive note with the mozzarella and prosciutto, which was solid. After that, everything went downhill. The rigatoni pasta was completely unbalanced, alternating between overwhelmingly spicy and overly salty. The biggest disappointment was the Chicken Milanese. It arrived unfinished, with no dressing at all. When we pointed it out, instead of correcting the dish, they brought us a tiny side of dressing. It was served with a sad handful of arugula, and at $39 it felt like a complete rip-off. Honestly, my local pizza place serves a better chicken cutlet. Dessert didn't redeem the meal. The crostini was forgettable, and the ice cream tasted like a generic supermarket brand. The restaurant itself is cute, but it's unbearably loud. We spent half the meal saying, "What?" because we couldn't hear each other across the table. The service was just as disappointing as the food. It was slow, and we had three different servers throughout the meal, making the experience feel disorganized and impersonal. With such a limited menu, you'd think the focus would be on executing every dish well. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Save yourself the disappointment and spend your money elsewhere.

Italian / American…read more Café Al Dente was a neighborhood fixture for many years and one of my favorites when I lived in Oyster Bay. It had been some time since I moved south but recently had the occasion to revisit the old neighborhood and lo, Café Al Dente had relocated as I happily deduced while walking around town. Since the move a few things had changed: the owners being the main change and the addition of an actual bar area. There never was a stand-alone bar in the old location so this was an interesting spin. The new location seemed to be a lot brighter as well. In any case, I grabbed a spot at the bar and settled in with a glass of wine and a menu. Many of the old favorites were still there, plus a lot of new items. Ladies working the bar were funny and attentive and also gave me a list of the nightly specials. I started with fried calamari since to me, it is a litmus test for most Italian places. The portion size was right and the calamari was fried perfectly. I followed that with an order of tortellini Barese. Again, just the right size portion and perfectly cooked. Overall, a great dinner experience and I even made a few new friends while sitting there. I will be back next time I need to be in NY. Parking lots scattered around town

Decided to eat here for my anniversary dinner on a Sunday night. Nice atmosphere in a side street…read morejust off the main drag in oyster bay. We opted for the 4 course pre-fixe for $105 which includes two appetizers, entree and dessert. We had oysters, bucatini with clams, cheese board and roasted mushrooms for apps, all good. Is it the delicious food? Maybe the sophisticated yet sleek ambiance. I don't know what it is, but they got it and I love it. And I love showing them off to others. On a cold Tuesday night, it was pretty empty. I really hope the summer months are better to them. The table-side bread basket was amazing. We each got to pick which sort of bread we wanted. There was sourdough, focaccia and others. I went with the focaccia and never looked back. Burrata and beets, Brussels sprouts and salmon that was cooked perfectly was enjoyed while the specialty cocktails were sipped. We had all the attention of the staff being the only diners in there. It was such lovely time I'm going to make sure I don't wait to long to go back.

It was girls night for my wife so I figured I would try Angelina's since my bride raved about it…read more As I walked up I saw they had a $49 price fix on Monday's only. I was greeted and seated right away. I would have eaten at the bar as a single, but there were only two seats. I would suggest the restaurant expand their bar, it was beautiful and decor classy/elegant. After being seated I was given the standard menu...so after a moment I asked if there was price fix menu. They provided a lovely bruschetta with shaved cheese. A few moments later they brought bread with butter but also olive tapenade which was very good. My mom always said if the bread is good the restaurant usually is. I ordered a Cabernet which was a good pour. The fried calamari was average, not overcooked but I found the breading a little intrusive if that makes sense. For the main I ordered the pasta with dried tomatoes, broccoli rabe, and sausage. It was more like a plate of dried tomatoes with a few sausage bits, and the broccoli rabe hat too much stem. The pasta itself was gummy and clumped. A featured dish at a classy Italian restaurant should be well executed. I get it that a Monday night is not a high volume day and maybe not the most experienced staff are in the kitchen. I"ll just say they did not capitalize on an opportunity to convert me to a repeat customer. I'm sure later in the week their patrons have their best best dinning experiences. Even though it was not busy it seemed at was a local favorite. They asked if I wanted tea or coffee (included) I declined, but they brought 3 assorted cookies on a plate. I took one bite. Maybe the Italian version of a fortune cookie. Not a positive. Just to wrap up, It was a lovely spot that reportedly has good food but my first experience was disappointing.
