The room was the perfect size for the party and had a nice nautical theme which we added our own party decor to. I can't say enough about the service. Vanessa was the easiest coordinator to work with planning the event, and did everything she said. She and Jeanne and the other servers at the party kept the drinks flowing, the food coming, and were so nice, it really made the evening. Also, the soups -French onion and lobster bisque- were extremely watery. Lobster bisque should be thick and a good one has chunks of lobster. Looked up happy hour and this placed popped up. Server recommended buffalo chicken spring rolls and they were really tasty! Also got the sliders and they were delicious as well. Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. Dining at Mill Creek Tavern again since the pandemic...been here several times for indoor dining. Friendly staff and service - very easy to make online reservations through OpenTable and have no issue with availability. Face masks are required for all staff and guests - separators are up for social distancing. Maintain 6 feet apart for social distancing and no parties greater than 10. Bar has dividers for seating, main dining room - 3 tables removed, back room - 1/2 of tables were removed. At times dining capacity was more than 50% inside, but we had separators when seated in the booths all 3 times. Enjoying the different seating areas each time my friends and I go to eat. The fireplace is on for warmth by the bar and in the dining rooms. There is also outdoor seating enclosed and take out options as well. No more early bird special, but there are weekly specials. In October, they had a special October-fest menu options along with the standard menu. Food is good and love the seared scallops with sauteed spinach. Think I found my new favorite dish. There are 2 seared scallop entrees...haven't tried the risotto one yet... maybe next time. Complimentary bread for starters. Appetizers: Calamari is good, mussels were ok. Bavarian pretzel - yum! Try to save room for dessert... Octoberfest homemade apple strudel with almond shavings was really good...preferred that over the walnuts (was there start and end of the month). Touchless payment option is available. Just scan the barcode on your receipt to make payment.. their system will capture the payment and send you a receipt to your email if you request. After spending a lovely day in the area, we were hungry for dinner and Mill Creek Tavern seems like the perfect spot. Upon entering, there was a hand sanitizer at the front door as well as more inside on the way out to the outside space. They have a tent in the parking lot with around 12 tables. Tables are a bit on the flimsy side, but they did the trick. Tables were nicely spread out and all staff wore masks properly. Our server, Justin, was just lovely. At one point he came over to offer us some bug spray if we felt it was too buggy. It was not, but what a great way to keep your guests comfortable. This was the first time I was offered bug spray for outdoor dining and thought it was such a nic and considerate idea. After viewing the website, we found out that MCT is a sister restaurant to Mim's in Roslyn which I really enjoy, so I knew we'd get a good meal. Entrees come with 1 side (so you have to choose between a carb and a veggie) and you can also add a side salad for an additional price. We started off with the side salads, which were standard, but good. The skirt steak was well-seasoned, juicy and delicious as were the fries. The chicken schnitzel and spaetzel was also wonderful. 2 large cutlets that were juicy and tender topped with a lovely mushroom sauce. Both entrees were satisfying and quite enjoyable. Since outdoor dining takes up most of the parking lot, spaces are limited, however there is a lot directly across the street as well as across and to the right where you can park. read more

We were visiting family in Mill neck and choose Mill Creek Tavern because they have a very nice menu. I like that they print the daily specials with descriptions and prices. It was a late dinner and both my wife and I opted for appetizers. She selected the Iron Skillet Meatball Parmesan . four homemade meatballs with melted mozzarella, and a pomodoro sauce with a piece of garlic bread on top. Very good. I chose the Crispy Chili Pop Shrimp , baby shrimp( not that small) with a sweet Thai chili sauce, really very good. Also the Tuscan Calamari, fried calamari, marinara, lemon, and a horseradish aioli. I lived in Bayville for 4 years and this was the go to spot for the fam. It's unassuming from the outside. Even when you walk in it feels a bit like a dive. But turn the corner and BAM you're in a nice little restaurant. This isn't the best food I've ever had, but I've never had a bad meal. Reason number two, tasty food but we were very surprised how expensive dessert was. $10 for one tiny scoop of ice cream. A little ridiculous. I know the economy is bad but come on. And last reason, I spilled my drink right when I got it because I was pouring my husband a glass of water because they didn't and I was offered another glass. Although our waiter was definitely pushing add ons( Appetizers and dessert) and drinks. I was very disappointed in the calamari appetizer for $18...maybe 8 pieces of calamari, and the flavor was ok. I ordered the Baja fish tacos and a side salad. I was served two small tacos with hardly any filling. and a salad that was rather wilted. Overall the food is good, but not this time. I was in Oyster Bay managing some sailboat races and staying in Bayville. This place was recommended and I am so glad I went here. I love a good pork chop as long as it is cooked properly. I ordered the double cut pork chop and stressed medium rare. I'm really picky about that. OMG!!!!! The absolute best pork chop I have ever had! I have no idea how the vegetables tasted because there was no way I was going to waste stomach space on them. Service was good, but I'm not giving the restaurant 5 stars because they're too cheap to provide shirts with collars. Really, you want your staff dressed the same as the Apple Genius Bar people or or the kid mowing your lawn? You have great food, nice atmosphere and T-shirts? I ordered pork schnitzel with spaetzle but I got the potato salad. So when they told the kitchen they needed a spaetzle, they accidentally sent out a Brie PRETZEL. We liked that mistake. It's just a few blocks over the bridge into Bayville, has a long bar area and much more dining space. The four of us were attracted to their three-course early-bird special at $28.95 plus a first-timers $10 coupon. My appetizer was potato and cheese pirogies with chive sour cream drizzle. The cheese elevated the typical blandness of mashed potatoes. However, the chives over-powered the drizzle and the dough should've been softer. That said, I enjoyed that creative combo and look forward to other adventures in pirogies (viva pirogies)! My entree was "sauerbraten short ribs with mustard herb spatzle and braised red cabbage." The beef was softer than brisket and delicious, but it was topped with a sweet, gluppy sauce. The spatzle was unremarkable and the red cabbage was somehow heavy and creamy. Even if my entree followed the old country German grandma's way of preparing sauerbraten, I hope they someday make it lighter. My wife loved both her appetizer of mussels in a white wine and lemon sauce and her entree of pecan crusted sole with whipped sweet potatoes and sautéed zucchini. That's what I'm ordering next time. We had the warm apple crisp dessert (with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream), which as is the fashion, was good but overdone (like an everything burger dessert). One of our group enjoyed her linguine and white clam sauce, which also had the nice touch of being served with clams in their shells, but doubted she'd be back because she's not fond of "pub food." I thought it was several cuts above what I associate with pub food (for example, fish and chips, burger deluxe, etc.). Meanwhile, the service was great from start to finish. A young man offered to take our coats, they had our reservations and seated us quickly, our waitress was patient, accommodating and pleasant, the servers knew exactly where to place our orders, and any time we needed help, it came promptly. Finally, some of us had wine, others had decaf (good coffee), and yet the bill (with the fixed price menu and coupon) plus a 20% tip was under $100 per couple. read more

Had dinner today for the first time at Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. Even though it was Father's Day and we arrived 20 mins later (I did call to tell them) they seated us immediately. The lady that seated us was so informative about their procedures and then handed us over to Sue our server who was so great. Really accommodating and lovely. We had apps of chicken fingers and wings (we had a 12 and 14 yr old) which were delicious. We had entrees of chicken club sandwiches, eggplant parm, meatballs and pasta. The food wasn't great (eggplant greasy and chicken fingers greasy, French fries not great) but I would definitely go back and give them another try, the staff were just so nice. We were sitting at the bar talking to the super funny bartender; Kathy - having a burger which was superb on a nice fresh bun and a delicious tender steak sandwich oozing with blue cheese.... Mill Creek is a great fit in the summer when you want to get a table and parking space without waiting an hour and also have some nice peace and quiet while eating some of the most delicious food in Bayville! I came here for restaurant week after looking through the restaurant week website and searching for menu items to try. I stumbled upon Mill Creek because they had multiple desserts that sounded good on the menu. When we arrived, we noticed 2 of the 3 desserts were no longer offered. We traveled a good distance to come here and were quite disappointed by this. We let our waitress Jeanne know and she sent over the owner Rich. Rich was truly one of the most condescending, rude, and unprofessional individuals I've ever spoken to. We let him know he shouldn't advertise items on his menu that he doesn't offer. He shrugged that off and informed us that it says on the menu 'items are subject to change.' We let Rich know that most individuals aren't reading the fine print on the bottom of the menu and are focused simply on the dishes. Rich did not apologize for any inconvenience, instead he said 'It is what it is. There's worse things in life, right?" As I was replying to him, he proceeded to walk away mid conversation. This isn't acceptable for any person to do, let alone the owner of a restaurant. I felt extremely disrespected. It's amazing that an owner could be so rude to a table who spent $200+ that night. I've already spread the word regarding this experience and will 100% never come back to this place. I would like to say that our waitress Jeanne was extremely understanding and gave us a few good laughs regarding the experience.
