Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Great wine and a fantastic meal made the celebration with good friends the perfect night. The place is not too big but it was not too small that I felt crowded. Best part was each dish was prepared perfectly. Often I find restaurants a little heavy handed with the salt but the seasoning on each dish was exactly right. So glad we tried this place. Can't wait to go back!

Looked up happy hour and this placed popped up. Server recommended buffalo chicken spring rolls and they were really tasty! Also got the sliders and they were delicious as well. Ambiance was great and the feel of the bar was all locals and a friendly and fun atmosphere. Frank the tank was awesome! Service from the bartenders and the servers were all definitely above average and just really nice in every way. Wish I could've had another day to come back and try some more food.

Family was driving theough the area, and stopped by for dinner on the way back to the city. Service was wonderful and staff was very friendly. This is definitely an if you know, you know, type of restaurant. Inside was warm and cozy. Their lobster special was great and so was the steak rigatoni. Our waiter even let us borrow his umbrella to get to our car cause it was pouring when we left!

Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.

Dining at Mill Creek Tavern again since the pandemic...been here several times for indoor dining. Friendly staff and service - very easy to make online reservations through OpenTable and have no issue with availability. Face masks are required for all staff and guests - separators are up for social distancing. Maintain 6 feet apart for social distancing and no parties greater than 10. Bar has dividers for seating, main dining room - 3 tables removed, back room - 1/2 of tables were removed. At times dining capacity was more than 50% inside, but we had separators when seated in the booths all 3 times. Enjoying the different seating areas each time my friends and I go to eat. The fireplace is on for warmth by the bar and in the dining rooms. There is also outdoor seating enclosed and take out options as well. No more early bird special, but there are weekly specials. In October, they had a special October-fest menu options along with the standard menu. Food is good and love the seared scallops with sauteed spinach. Think I found my new favorite dish. There are 2 seared scallop entrees...haven't tried the risotto one yet... maybe next time. Complimentary bread for starters. Appetizers: Calamari is good, mussels were ok. Bavarian pretzel - yum! Try to save room for dessert... Octoberfest homemade apple strudel with almond shavings was really good...preferred that over the walnuts (was there start and end of the month). Touchless payment option is available. Just scan the barcode on your receipt to make payment.. their system will capture the payment and send you a receipt to your email if you request. Your server will confirm as your tab will come off their system and reflected as paid. Come support a local favorite..no excuses as I am coming from the city all the way to Bayville! Happy dining and stay safe!

After spending a lovely day in the area, we were hungry for dinner and Mill Creek Tavern seems like the perfect spot. Upon entering, there was a hand sanitizer at the front door as well as more inside on the way out to the outside space. They have a tent in the parking lot with around 12 tables. Tables are a bit on the flimsy side, but they did the trick. Tables were nicely spread out and all staff wore masks properly. Our server, Justin, was just lovely. At one point he came over to offer us some bug spray if we felt it was too buggy. It was not, but what a great way to keep your guests comfortable. This was the first time I was offered bug spray for outdoor dining and thought it was such a nic and considerate idea. After viewing the website, we found out that MCT is a sister restaurant to Mim's in Roslyn which I really enjoy, so I knew we'd get a good meal. Entrees come with 1 side (so you have to choose between a carb and a veggie) and you can also add a side salad for an additional price. We started off with the side salads, which were standard, but good. The skirt steak was well-seasoned, juicy and delicious as were the fries. The chicken schnitzel and spaetzel was also wonderful. 2 large cutlets that were juicy and tender topped with a lovely mushroom sauce. Both entrees were satisfying and quite enjoyable. Since outdoor dining takes up most of the parking lot, spaces are limited, however there is a lot directly across the street as well as across and to the right where you can park.

We were visiting family in Mill neck and choose Mill Creek Tavern because they have a very nice menu. I like that they print the daily specials with descriptions and prices. It was a late dinner and both my wife and I opted for appetizers. She selected the Iron Skillet Meatball Parmesan . four homemade meatballs with melted mozzarella, and a pomodoro sauce with a piece of garlic bread on top. Very good. I chose the Crispy Chili Pop Shrimp , baby shrimp( not that small) with a sweet Thai chili sauce, really very good. Also the Tuscan Calamari, fried calamari, marinara, lemon, and a horseradish aioli. Unfortunately the calamari was rubbery and chewy. For dessert, my wife wanted the WARM APPLE CRISP ,Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, rolled oat crumb topping, and vanilla bean ice cream, also very good and a huge portion.

On a cold Tuesday night, it was pretty empty. I really hope the summer months are better to them. The table-side bread basket was amazing. We each got to pick which sort of bread we wanted. There was sourdough, focaccia and others. I went with the focaccia and never looked back. Burrata and beets, Brussels sprouts and salmon that was cooked perfectly was enjoyed while the specialty cocktails were sipped. We had all the attention of the staff being the only diners in there. It was such lovely time I'm going to make sure I don't wait to long to go back.

HAD MY 50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE AND WOULD DO IT AGAIN!!!!!…read more This was only my second time here but my first visit made such an impression that I had to celebrate my big day here!! I started my party planning with a previous employee but upon getting in touch with the owner TOMMY, everything went off without a hitch!!! My host/server MICHELLE T. was truly amazing!!!!! If you want afternoon, brunch or dinner times, you can literally have dozens of different selections for your entire party courses, I hope to have a future celebration here, and try even more delicious choices. Valet parking was a great plus, location is also very convenient from Queens and Suffolk counties. Our group of 7 had reservations for 7:00pm a couple of Fridays ago. When we arrived, we pulled up…read moreto the valet, handed him our keys, and walked in right on time. We were seated immediately in the room toward the back left corner where we were the only table occupying the space. In fact, as the evening progressed, no other diners/groups were seated back there, which was nice. We observed that although it was a Friday evening at prime dinner hour, the restaurant never got too full nor was the bar area buzzing. Again, it was nice that it wasn't so hectic in there, but we noted that as curious for a spot like this, on a Friday evening, and when the weather was pleasant. Starting with a high point: our server was really good. He was a very nice young man who let us know at the end of our meal that it was actually his first day on the job. While we could tell he didn't know everything about the menu - which is totally understandable given him being a new hire - he was kind, personable, and went above and beyond to provide excellent and timely service. As for the venue, it was nice although not upscale and that was just our speed for this evening. We loved having the room to sit comfortably at a setup that could comfortably seat 8. As for the food, it was decent although I wouldn't call anything I tasted fantastic. For apps, we shared 2 orders apiece of calamari, crab cakes, and lamb chops (6 apps total) with the chops being my favorite out of those. The calamari were small and didn't pack a lot of flavor but they were fried well. The marinara sauce that came with it was also fine but not remarkable. The crab cakes were a little mushy for our liking. For my entrée, I ordered the Lobster Rigatoni. There was plenty of lobster on top, the portion was more than solid, and it came out at the right temperature but the flavor again failed to really impress and was somewhere between "fine" to "good". For dessert, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was truly disappointed by that. For starters, there was no gooey "lava" as the name implied, and the edges were dry and seemed overcooked. The flavor again fell a little flat and I didn't bother to finish it even though I am usually a huge fan of chocolate desserts. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening as a crew, but the food could be elevated a bit from a flavor standpoint. I would give the food a little better than a "3" but I think they have enough going for them that amping up the flavors could do wonders for their desirability and drawing more diners.

We both had the garlic shrimp which were very well flavored but unfortunately didn't have even one garlic clove, which was disappointing and there were only 6 shrimp. The paella is supposed to be for 2-4 people which I can see if you have more tapas but we finished it off. It came with a healthy amount of shrimp, grilled calamari and chorizo and was perfectly seasoned. We also appreciated how the rice was a bit crispy and not mushy.
