Autentico continues to delight... step off the beaten path and sit back and relax. Enjoy a leisurely European style meal, unhurried and hand made with care. If you want fast and predictable service, go to a chain restaurant at the mall. Here you will find a eclectic menu with original dishes, hand made by the chef. Something for everyone.. carnivores, vegetarians, vegans. Perfectly mixed cocktails, superb and exciting desserts. This is the only indoor dining that we will go to.. spaced, immaculate, noses tucked behind masks as they should be. Step away from the ordinary and treat yourself to a very special menu and experience. Be patient..go with someone you love sometime soon.

Newsday review was correct. Quaint Italian Restaurant In Oyster Bay. Don't bother to look at the menu ahead of time you won't find it on line. They have a handwritten menu since the food does change frequently. It was our 1st visit to Autentico. Our table was reserved & we were promptly seated. The Waiter had a wonderful sense of humor. We started off with Salad,Crab Cocktail, tomato & mozzarella and quesadilla which were all amazing. Dinner we had Lasagna, Pappardelle & Eggplant With Ricotta stuffed spaghetti everything was delicious. We ended our meal with the Lava cake. The only negative is that the air conditioner could be higher & the noise could be less. I would definitely recommend this place.

A wonderful place to enjoy a dinner for two. The servers were fabulous people and I enjoyed the ambiance. A must try is the bolognese

    Ravioli

I am a big supporter of local small businesses and Autentico I liked. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic. The food was also homey and cozy as well. The had the sweet cheese ravioli and the Bolognese and artichokes as the starter. Service could have been better but they were super nice. Thank you all for working hard to stay open in these difficult times. Keep it up!

Another great dinner! Zack was great and always serves with a smile - even if hidden behind a mask. If you haven't eaten here, be sure to get the Bolognese!

It had been some time since I moved south but recently had the occasion to revisit the old neighborhood and lo, Café Al Dente had relocated as I happily deduced while walking around town. Since the move a few things had changed: the owners being the main change and the addition of an actual bar area. There never was a stand-alone bar in the old location so this was an interesting spin. The new location seemed to be a lot brighter as well. In any case, I grabbed a spot at the bar and settled in with a glass of wine and a menu. Many of the old favorites were still there, plus a lot of new items. Ladies working the bar were funny and attentive and also gave me a list of the nightly specials. I started with fried calamari since to me, it is a litmus test for most Italian places. The portion size was right and the calamari was fried perfectly. I followed that with an order of tortellini Barese. Again, just the right size portion and perfectly cooked. Overall, a great dinner experience and I even made a few new friends while sitting there. I will be back next time I need to be in NY. Parking lots scattered around town

My favorites of the night were the pastas and steak. We were lucky they allowed us to book a large party dinner, so my photos of the food are all "family style" servings. If Parmesan is too strong of a flavor for you, you may want to avoid the cauliflower since it is soaking in the sauce (delightful for those who enjoy it). Pastas were all handmade and interestingly shaped! My favorite was the Maltagliati, thin al dente ribbons sliding through a light flavored seafood sauce and tender succulent chunks of shrimp :) Everyone else chose the Gramigna as their favorite-- the curved thick ridged pasta reminded me of bucatini, which worked well with their ragu-like sausage sauce. The Garganelli had a long twisted penne-like shape but was not as al dente, a tad overcooked. It had a tasty vegetable-forward flavor. For entrees, the salmon was either poached or sous vide, making it very tender and moist which was a big contrast to the herb-crusted skin. That part mostly tasted burnt to me. The steak came pre-sliced, and it was tender but also had a nice chew -- perfect! The taste with the peppercorn sauce and mushrooms was really nice. Would definitely get that steak again, and I don't even like meat that much! And for dessert, the chocolate cake was a little dry even though it sat in a puddle of vanilla sauce. The crostata's green apple filling was sweet and tart, yummy! Things I think could be improved: the sizzling shrimp and salmon both had burnt/charred parts. Could be part of the charm, but it took away some of the enjoyment because it just tasted burnt. The small space was filled and busy all night, and it was a little loud as well. Their service was excellent; waiters looked polished in their white outfits and acted the part. It made for a lovely outing-- the birthday boy announced Gioia was his new favorite Italian restaurant! Definitely try this cute little spot out. I will be thinking about the pastas and the steak :D

The space is not large, but it is bright and organized so that each table feels secluded. I've dined here several times, once on a date night and once with a group of foodie friends. Both times were memorable. I highly recommend sampling one of their pizzas as an app. On one occasion, I enjoyed their Branzino, which came as two filets atop green beans, topped with a fresh lemon sauce. Their desserts are huge, so you can share them as well--try their deconstructed cannoli. Easily serves 2-3 people. Their homemade lasagna comes out steaming hot in its own crock, and their pistachio pasta is one to try as well. The menu has a lot of offerings, so every type of diner will find something to eat. Service is impeccable. We were attended to immediately, we were checked in on but not hovered over, and when I asked for suggestions, the offerings were spot on with my taste. Overall, this is a great pick for a date night or evening meeting up with friends. There isn't a bar to hang out at, as the space is minimal (at least I've never seen one), but it's a place to add to your list when in the area.

I was greeted and seated right away. I would have eaten at the bar as a single, but there were only two seats. I would suggest the restaurant expand their bar, it was beautiful and decor classy/elegant. After being seated I was given the standard menu...so after a moment I asked if there was price fix menu. They provided a lovely bruschetta with shaved cheese. A few moments later they brought bread with butter but also olive tapenade which was very good. My mom always said if the bread is good the restaurant usually is. I ordered a Cabernet which was a good pour. The fried calamari was average, not overcooked but I found the breading a little intrusive if that makes sense. For the main I ordered the pasta with dried tomatoes, broccoli rabe, and sausage. It was more like a plate of dried tomatoes with a few sausage bits, and the broccoli rabe hat too much stem. The pasta itself was gummy and clumped. A featured dish at a classy Italian restaurant should be well executed. I get it that a Monday night is not a high volume day and maybe not the most experienced staff are in the kitchen. I"ll just say they did not capitalize on an opportunity to convert me to a repeat customer. I'm sure later in the week their patrons have their best best dinning experiences. Even though it was not busy it seemed at was a local favorite. They asked if I wanted tea or coffee (included) I declined, but they brought 3 assorted cookies on a plate. I took one bite. Maybe the Italian version of a fortune cookie. Not a positive. Just to wrap up, It was a lovely spot that reportedly has good food but my first experience was disappointing.

The menu isn't massive, but they cover every category with extreme precision and do it really well. Seafood, pasta, veal, chicken, and all the classic appetizers you can think of from stuffed artichokes, zucchini blossoms, and house-made burrata. The ambiance is old-school Italian in the best way: timeless, romantic, and cozy. It works just as well for an intimate date night as it does for a small group dinner. Bonus points for being BYOB. We ordered the veal marsala and the seafood pomodoro. The veal was pounded to perfection and swimming in a ridiculously addictive sauce. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh shrimp, clams, and mussels and you can taste the quality and care put in the food. Meals are served with a salad to start, and you can expect to spend around $35 per entrée, which feels more than fair for the quality. We were genuinely impressed and were treated with a lot of attention throughout the meal. The concept of the restaurant being run by two italian twins was honestly so sweet. Highly recommend if you're looking for classic Italian done right without trekking into the city.
