We were greeted by a man named Butch Petersen, who I treated like I do all salesmen - as someone who stood between me and my goal (the perfect car for Devanie). It very quickly became apparent we were dealing with someone who was not your average car salesman, so on a hunch I asked if he was somehow related to my longtime friend Grant Peterson, who I got to know when I was involved with the local Better Business Bureau Board in 1991. (Grant is owner of the Bronco Motors group of car dealerships - the only place I've bought my cars since 2008 because of the honesty and integrity with which Grant operates his dealerships.) Butch's answer changed everything. Turns out Butch's father and Grant's father started Fairly Reliable Bob's together, not primarily as a money making business, but to be able to serve the local community. That is still their mission today. Fairly Reliable Bob's operate with a laser focus on serving their community with excellence and integrity, and everything else takes care of itself. And Butch Peterson was the owner and general manager of Fairly Reliable Bob's - a man who walks the talk. Long story very short, Butch found the *perfect* car for Devanie, answering all her questions to make *her* feel confident as well. He explained some of the many benefits of purchasing a car at Fairly Reliable Bob's, including a repair shop that is run as a not-for-profit company so all parts are charged at cost, hourly rates are less than half of other repair shops, and loaner cars are always free. Butch sent a trailer at his expense to pick up Devanie's trade in (which would not start), gave Devanie a fair deal on the new car, and arranged an unheard of interest rate for someone with no credit by working with a local bank **and having Fairly Reliable Bob's cosign the loan** for her. There are far too many things that astounded me about character and integrity of this business to go into here. I then took it to their service department for a very noticeable broken front bumper clip and caught 2 service mechanics leaning on the truck as if it was a park bench after I begged them to be careful with the paint due to the fresh detail I had just paid for.Massive amounts of dog hair behind the back seat as it was removed in efforts to figure out were the smell was coming from.... massive nastiness and visible stains on all the seats including a big coffee spill on back seat and yet the salesman insisted that it had been cleaned and I clearly knew he was full of crap. Recall on vehicle also not handled and of course that was also on me to do their job and get it taken care of. We told him what our mechanic found and he became rude/disrespectful. When I tried speaking to him about his behavior, he got even worse so we told him we were not going to proceed with car. At that point, he placed his hands on the desk, leaned towards us and said "good, I was going to tell you to leave anyway!". At this point I asked to speak to his manager. We spoke with Matt who was very kind; he said he would be speaking with Alex and asked if he could help us find a different vehicle but at that point we were so offended that we did not want to do any business with that store.

It will take you two weeks to get the car in for a diagnosis then it will take another month to schedule an appointment because they're waiting on parts. They'll schedule a day to have you drop it off. They'll tell you that it'll be done by tomorrow and then two weeks later it's still there with help for a loaner car. It really stings when you pay almost 30 grand for a car.
