Good experience - the only negative aspect is the summer heat - and that is beyond control of the business. Best place to learn about cars and how they are put together. In the bay area there are too many douchey hipsters that pick and pull all the classic mercedes diesels apart. Fairfield is just far enough away from Berkeley to keep these kinds of people away. Car selection was great. Even the vehicles for sale were of a beautiful variety. A perfectly curated collection of the most popular cars. A classic body on frame rear wheel drive ford, a newer fuel miser Camry, a couple trucks and then a few bargain basement priced cars for those who are the most price sensitive. Really, something for everybody. On the yard there were finds too. Somebody was cleaning out the entire interior of a first gen Lexus IS. Like new seats and dash and door panels. Even the heat wasn't going to stop these guys from refreshing their interior and getting rid of that dreaded sticky dash those cars are known for. Office here was air conditioned - that whole area where you pay. The helpers here were great and check out was fast and friendly. Overall, this is a great place to learn about cars - you can buy on ebay or aftermarket but you don't learn how things are put together. read more

I came in Monday to this pick n pull and forgot my mask. They told me they were not going to let me in without one. But then I see a few people coming from the inside with parts and without masks on. I told the African American woman at the counter why they could go inside without a mask and she said " this is not up for debate ". The people that were leaving without masks were of white ethnicity. Since I'm Hispanic is that the reason why? If I was to be of a lighter skin shade would I be able to go inside without a mask too? I wasn't able to get it pulled before the yard closed, but I left my contact info with Dante, and got a room to stay overnight so I could finish the job Monday. As I was driving in Dante called to let me know there was a man who could pull the door for me, and ultimately he helped me bring the door to the Nitro I drove up. The people who work in the yard think it is funny to waste peoples time by having the wrong inventory online. I drove 3 hours to try to find a transmission it said they have two of, but neither of the vehicles were there anymore. The worker in the yard that I mentioned this to, laughed in my face. Then I went back into the office to see if he could tell me where I might be able to find what I was looking for, proceeded to tell me there were no foresters there at all, even though I had just seen three of them while I was in the yard. Went to look at a car for some parts today. When I arrived and asked for the location of the car. I was told they don't have it anymore. And they only keep the cars for 30 days. If that's the case then they really need to work on their website! Or fire the person who manages it! They have cars on there that are over three months old and are still posted on their web site! This review is a culmination of YEARS of Pick-N-Pull "pickery", I even still have an old 2008 T-shirt from PnP that is probably older than most employees tenure there. This review-worthy problem started when I needed a small internal part for the transmission on my Chevy Truck. The exact part is the Planetary Gear for transmission aficionados. You have to open up the transmission a bit to get at it but it is a small part and I bring it up to the front counter and a new pizza faced employee "black boy" looks at the part and says, "Was dat?". After explaining to him what it was (Planetary Gear = a small round piece of metal with rollers inside it) he still stares blankly, pretends to search on the computer for a while, and after what seemed like 20 minutes he has to call his Manager. Fat Mexican manager finally comes to the front, tired from taking his 8th break of the day and shrugs and states "I don't know what it is. Why didn't you just buy a transmission?" Well I did not need a whole transmission stupid! After explaining AGAIN what the part is (now to the manager), he says "I dunno... $40" The retard behind the counter rings me up for $10,000 first, and then after another 5 minutes rings me out for $39.99 "MISC MECH - Auto transmission pump" (WHICH IS STILL INCORRECT), but I am finally free of this place and can leave. ---PnP Management take notice--- Hire some people who actually know car parts and what they are! Not just morons who can use a search bar or stare at a computer!!! I remember the days before the now MANDATORY 30-Day Exchange Policy, Admission Tax and Kommiefornia Environmental Fee. Quasi-tolerable pricing and sometimes worth the trip, however now most online Auto Parts vendors are killing you idiots, PLUS you get a NEW or REBUILT part! Not counting the awesome times when the part is trash, like most PnP Employees, and then you have to remove the part, bring it back, only to pull another and receive store credit for another one that probably does not work either. If you've been to other Pick-n-pull's, you know the drill. You bring your tools, pay $2 to get in, and go hunting in their huge lot for just the right beater. The lot is divided into four sections: Trucks and vans, GMC cars, Ford cars, and imports. One thing that distinguishes this Pick-n-Pull from the other's I've been to is that when I visited they had a section of about 12 Camaros. I've never seen another PnP that set part of the lot aside for just one model. So if you need a part for an early 80s - early 90s Camaro, you won't have to walk the entire lot. read more

Pretty disappointed lately. I get a lot of stuff here, but I wish they'd be more careful with these cars. This month I've gone twice to find a fender for my car. First one they dented it while moving it. You can tell it's fresh damage and matches up with where their fork lift would be picking it up. Second car, same thing! The female that answers the phone is very rude as if I'm wasting her precious time. I would call and she would answer. I would ask questions about a car that's listed for sale with very little information as to whether it is drivable or not. She slammed the phone in mid-sentence. I called back and get generic "technical difficulties" messages or my call would dial in but get dropped. I called back a couple days later at a different time, hoping to get someone different and I did. The man that answered was very polite and a lot more knowledgeable about the car even telling me potential issues it has. The female needs an attitude adjustment or should stick to cleaning the bathrooms because nobody wants to deal with her crap! I am not the only one that feels this way. I discussed this with a friend of mine that goes to the various Pick-n-Pull around the Bay Area and he knows about this snotty female that works at the phones. I wouldn't call her a lady as she behaves far from one. As for Pick-n-Pull it has a straight forward simple process that mostly everyone can understand the system. English not needed. If I could give this location zero stars I would. Christina (white woman, dark brown hair, claimed she had been there for years), you have no right to be rude to people when you are having a bad day. You solely are bringing this company down. This woman was rude to me and my dad who is a senior. Stating that we lied about how long we were waiting (and we were the only customers). She snatched my ID out of my hand and had an attitude the entire time I was there. She kept saying things like "you should've said this or you should've done that" with out giving me instructions on the proper process of selling my car. She had an attitude with my dad who then kindly asked her to calm down, we are good people and don't deserve treatment like that. She kept saying she was super busy and didn't have time . She was also rude to her colleagues saying things like "yes? Can I help you? Why are you standing behind me?". We watched this first hand. Another woman came in with an amazing attitude. My son needed a part for a older car he was working on. Drove out to Pick and pull. Not a good thing . Forklift driver with a car on the lift was driving over 30mph and almost lost the car off the lift and just missed killing my son and I. Did that slow that lift driver no! Stood by and seen him almost hit 5 other people. In this lift drivers mind was one thing put as much cars on the lot as FAST As POSSIBLE.
