Was on my way to the good old Pick N Pull and had to stop by to get a socket to remove some GM seats - was a quick and painless transaction. Seems like when you work on cars its this endless cycle of buying more. And then you can't find what you need and buy duplicates - oh that just might be me. Anyway - was in a rush to get a socket to remove some GM seats - from a car that is becoming extinct. Had to do all this in a matter of two hours so didn't want to waste any time. Grabbed what I needed and headed out. Wasn't able to buy exactly what I needed but got the whole set. I signed up for their rewards membership and I get $5 and $10 coupons online all the time. This store deserves 6 Stars because of one employee alone! Here's the situation: I was moving my daughter in to her college dorm and halfway there, her car breaks down. We limped into the store parking lot with a broken serpentine belt during a 100° heat wave. My customer service started off terrible with Athena. I went in to ask if she could check my oil. Athena's attitude was very unpleasant. To make things worse after she checked my oil she couldn't tell me if I needed some or not. She told me "It's not giving me a correct reading because the engine is hot." The engine was not hot. I literally drove the car 3 blocks to O'Reilly. I started to just buy oil anyways and then because of her terrible customer service I decided to just leave the store. I told her I would just head off to another auto parts store who could help me. Theresa saved the day! She heard me and immediately stepped in to ask if she could help. She offered to check my oil and told me I had no oil in my car at all. She also told me my engine was not hot. I purchased a 5 qt oil and she made sure I had enough in the car. Gio scanned both of my vehicles and diagnosis problems on my Jeep and BMW. He even went so far to help me understand how to replace the parts he recommended. Great customer service! There are all sorts of characters that come to this place and what I can tell you is they do a great job handling all sorts of personalities and moods. I'm posting this for my friend who had the worst customer service experience here and he doesn't have an account: On July 6th, I had the worst customer service I've ever had. I was returning a rear window wiper blade that didn't fit my car. An employee wanted to see if it didn't fit so I allowed him to check. He tried forcing it onto the wiper blade arm so hard that it broke the notches that actually held the wiper blade secure. I pointed this out, we went inside, and a senior employee assisted me. He went outside to take a look and told me there was nothing they could do. I asked if it was possible to replace the wiper arm and he said yes but I would have to pay for it. When I told him that I shouldn't have to pay for it because they broke my Wiper arm, they started getting angry and told me that it was a free service and they can't do anything if something breaks. I'm sorry, but that's the mpst idiotic thing I've ever heard. They need to have people sign a form that waives their liability if that's their policy. I argued with them that it wasn't my fault and I wasn't even getting it installed. I just wanted them to know I wasn't lying. So he pressed and said he can't prove it wasn't broken when I got there and saying it was my fault. So this means he was saying that I've been driving with a loose wiper blade that could come off at any time and they aren't responsible for anything their employees do. I had to argue my way into having them pay for the wiper arm that they broke for half an hour. It was absolutely ridiculous. You can't offer any kind of service and assume zero liability without having a customer sign something that says that. There is no signage that even says that as well. Look out for this short fat Filipino guy named Franklin at the 1800 West Texas Street in Fairfield, CA. That guy is the biggest asshole I've ever seen. The guy who helped.me the next morning, Ed, was extremely rude to me when I picked up the wiper arm as well. He just handed it to me, said here, and just turned around all pissed off. The entire time, both days, I never raised my voice. I never showed anger and I gave them respect. After very poor service from Hanna at Auto Zone on 1440 W. Texas St. in Fairfield, CA, we left and went to O'Reilly Auto Parts on 1800 W. Texas St. where the employees Gio and Alexis gave excellent customer service and even installed the correct windshield wipers. The reason the one windshield wiper we just recently purchased from Auto Zone went flying off after little use was because Auto Zone sold us the wrong type of wipers and obviously didn't install them properly. read more

So I recently changed my battery because it kept dying. But the same problem kept happening even with the new battery. While visiting my friends up in Fairfield the battery died again. So I went to the nearest Oreillys prepared to shell out a bunch of money for a new alternator. A guy named Ed helped me out. He tested my battery and alternator and said that there was nothing wrong. So I asked him why did it keep dying. He said it was most likely a parasitic drain and started asking me a bunch of questions. I mentioned I recently installed a new stereo and he told me to check the red and yellow wires (power and memory i think) because they might be backwards. He was right on the money. Not only did he figure out my problem for me, but he didn't even try to sell me anything I didn't need. He even refused my tip. I live in SF so this store is kinda far for me, but if the stores in SF have the same great attitude I wont be going anywhere else from now on. read more

Definitely recommend O'Reilly over at AutoZone anytime any day. it looks like at AutoZone they just hire random people that don't know anything about cars so I decided to go to O'Reilly and talk to a guy named CERN and he was very knowledgeable In what he was talking about cars. I was trying to replace the brake lines for my car but it turns out they don't make them anymore. Talking to cern helped me a lot because in the end I was able to save the brake lines that I had instead of making new brake lines. I ordered parts online to be delivered to a specific store in my neighborhood. I received the email stating the order was ready for pickup, but when I got to the store the rep stated the order was not there and that I must be at the wrong store. Mind you I have an email with their pickup address on it. I drove to two other stores only to be told I was at the wrong store. I called the number on the email for curb pick up and was put on hold. I drove back to the store, asked for a manager and was told to call the corportae office if I wanted a refund. Well they found my order behind the counter, where no one thought to look.
