Huge selection of vehicles - somehow they aren't all picked and pulled like the bay area locations. Coming here isn't for the faint of heart - especially during the summer heat. Come with a hat and some water bottles and most importantly more tools than you think you will need. Check online to see inventory. Check by zip code and radius. No better place to get interior trim parts or other easily swapped out parts. I wouldn't recommend alternators or a/c compressors or items you can buy rebuilt from an auto parts store. For one thing labor to put them in isn't negligible. Tires I would also avoid. Unless its an emergency spare or maybe some other unusual case where you just need your car to roll. Check for date codes and sidewall damage. I once had to pay for a tire that was 20 years old just because I wanted the rim - that stunk - I paid for something I would have to pay $4 to get rid of at any tire shop. If you want some character building come here. Maybe you've got a young 18 year old in the family - new to life of cars. Come here to look around for crash safety - or come here to learn how to take things apart. I usually build confidence to work on my own cars once I've successfully taken something apart here. And with old brittle plastic you need practice and patience. Absolutely criminal operation. I have been going to pick-n-pull for nearly 40 years for more car projects than I can count. At this point, it's just a full-on scam operation. The parts have become nearly as expensive as buying brand new, but with no real guarantee. They buy cars for pennies on the dollar, then turn around and make thousands off of it. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. There used to be plenty of wrecking yards to choose from in the area. Pick n pull bought them out. They have no real competition in the area, and have used it to just price gouge. Last year I purchased a car from them AS they were loading it off the trailer. It hadn't entered the yard yet. I purchased it for $5000. It had signs on all the windows saying "DO NOT FORKLIFT" It was a 1960s car, and using a forklift would bend the unibody. Well, guess how they moved it after I bought it. they bent the frame so badly that the driver's door no longer opens. Of course all cars are as-is, so I was just screwed. I was angry enough in the first place, then I met the previous owner of the car. They gave him $100 for the car! So they low balled him to a criminal amount because he was desperate, turned around and sold it to me for $5000, then ruined it and shrugged. read more

Jim G, Be careful to get firm quote before you pull any parts. Looking to upgrade 1989 F150 with front and rear sway bars. Asked counter person what the cost would be for the bars (including associated mounting hardware) and he said $60 per bar, $120 for both. Went back next day to pull the rear, went up to counter and of course the guy who gave me the verbal quote was not there, now they want $90 for the rear. Complained, left the bar and will not return to this location. read more

I purchased a 12-month warranty from this company, paying 20% more for what I thought would be reliable protection. Now, they are refusing to honor it. Initially, I was told I had to return to the original store where I made the purchase, even though the warranty pamphlet clearly states that I can take it to any similar location. When I visited the North Antelope Road location, they made excuses to deny my claim, searching for reasons not to honor the warranty. In the end, they refused to process it, claiming the stamp had to be verified by the original seller. I then had to visit the Pick n Pull in Rancho Cordova on Sunrise Blvd, adding even more frustration to an already bad experience. On top of that, I had to remove the faulty transmission I bought from them and bring it back, which required hours of labor. When I finally got it to the location, I was told I had to search their yard for a replacement transmission--only to find out they didn't even have one available! Then, I was informed that the person I needed to talk to wasn't there and wouldn't be back until Friday--four days away--leaving me stuck with the transmission in the back of my car. This entire experience has been a nightmare of wasted time, effort, and frustration. I have serious doubts they will honor the warranty when I return, and it feels like they are just coming up with excuses to avoid replacing the part. I feel completely stuck and don't know what to do next. If anyone has advice or knows of any recourse I can take in this situation, I'd really appreciate your help. This is regarding jobs. Applied through Indeed and got an interview with "Nick Hill" but this guy respond slower then a 1hp engine. His lack of responses got me scheduled for 9am on 3/7/23. Nick didn't even show up that day, I wait almost 2hrs, until 11am and was told he didn't show up. What kind of supervisor or manager does this? Just pathetic. I end up interviewed by another guy who seems cool and handed him my resume too but I never heard anything from these guys. Calls didn't get to them either. I texted Nick but this dude was so unprofessional he didn't respond either. That day I was out too long I couldn't go back to work because then I end up having to do other things, causing me to loose a day of pay. If a work place is managed by guys like Nick you can only imagine how it goes. Peoples's lack of responses as a manager and their level of unprofessionalism tells you that work place sucks. I really love cars and been trying to work there for some time, but definitely this shows me how unprofessional these pples can be. read more

I've bought a wheel, OEM radio, a coin drawer cover, various interior clips, trunk lid bumpers....just all sorts of items that wouldn't be able to get anywhere else for an older car. I've been going to this Pic N Pull for years and have always been happy with it. The staff is efficient and you can't beat the prices. The entrance fee is $2.00 but it's worth it in my opinion. You get access to a wide array of cheap parts. You have to do a little digging but I think of it like a treasure hunt. I've found good used parts for $5.00 to 6.00 that would have cost $50.00 to $60.00 new. The staff even gave me some small nuts and bolts for free. Sometimes there's a line at check in by the staff works through it quickly. The restroom facilities are not great, but hey, it's a junkyard. read more

I've gone into this location a number of times over the years looking for parts for my vehicle. While all the parts aren't always there because what I want apparently many other owners need and have already taken, it's worth a look. I've largely found the prices to be very reasonable for things I've purchased such as a heated mirror and window regulator to name a couple. I just bought another older car that I wanted to obtain OEM items for and can't find them online anywhere (except overpriced on eBay). So, I went to PnP yesterday. It's hit and miss of course and a dirty job. You have to go prepared with the right shoes, tools, gloves, and hand wipes, to name a few essentials. We needed to retire our car by BAR program, I called them in advance to make sure they will be open around 5 pm, so we can do it after our work, they said yes, just be there at least one hour prior closing (6 pm). When we came there having 30 mins traffic drive at 4:45 pm, not really friendly lady in their shop said that we are in the wrong place, and yard closes at 4:30 pm, WTH? If your workers want to go home early that's okay, just let your customers know about that when they call, and put this info somewhere in your website for example. read more

The employees here are rude and unhelpful. Also, I learned a valuable lesson today: Avoid picknpull. I went to this location because I wanted a good deal on a part (a heater fan motor). I spent hours out in the blazing sun, sweating my butt off while wrestling this damn part out from under the hood of an old junker. Finally, I took the part up to the front counter and tried to test it on on one of the batteries on display, to see if the fan actually works. Before I could, some weenie employee came running over to yell about how that's totally! against! the! rules!! So, they won't allow you to test out electrical parts before paying for them. That stinks. So I bought the questionable fan motor anyway. After all the time I wasted today looking for and then extracting this thing, I couldn't turn back now. At least I can return it if it doesn't work, right? The price seemed a bit high, but this is a junkyard so I'm sure a new part would cost much, much more. I carried it out to the parking lot and tested it on my on car's battery. Of course it didn't work. So, two minutes later, I bring it back. Guess what: NO REFUNDS, store credit only. Jerks. Well, now I'm infuriated. And, there's no way I'm wasting my time looking for another one of these at this crappy junkyard. I take my stupid credit receipt and go home. I can't believe I gave these jerks my money. Now, here's the real lesson learned: The next day, I bit the bullet and decided to buy a new one at the parts store. I'm gonna be brutally honest. It has a young staff that all seem soulless. From the way they great you to the way they hand you you're change you'd think they were held hostage and forced to work there. I've seen a few ghetto infighting there over brakes and lunches being missed, so I know they can show the emotion of anger. The sign in system takes your photo, but patrons don't know because the staff refuses to save themself time by adding a sign. They'd much rather tell every other person to go back and sight in again. That's a 5 minute fix that would make everyone's day better and cut down on a ton of frustration. A Mexican guy took over staff a few years ago and is very by the book. Prices have gone insanely up, and he cuts no one a break. I've seen him in a good mood once in a while, but I really think the fun left the room with him. I-pull u-pull is so much more reasonable for you removing the part yourself. The staff at other salvage yards cut you a break on obvious questionable parts. I hope the staff reads this because the atmosphere really is clouded and I don't know why they even show up to mimic depressed walmart employees. I never ever write anything bad and usually just let this stuff go but this girl is so unprofessional. I went and purchased some headlights and when I got to check out the girl ringed it up. When she told me the price I asked her it seem a little high from the website. But I still paid for it. She then told me if she marked them it is returned able. I walked out and got to my car and within that time I changed my mind and went back to return it. When I got to the other side the cashier Leslie said it was store credit only and she had to get a password overwrite. When the person came over for the overwrite It was the first girl that said I was able to return it and didn't say it would be store credit only. She ask oh these didn't work? I told her it was the same price as new online and can't I just get cash back since it is less than 3 mins? She said no store credit only... at that point in my mind I said oh well, it is what it is.... and I will use the credit for something else in the future, but that's when she walked away and had to say something unnecessary " you should had done your homework" in a nasty tone. This place is an absolute joke. The staffing is unreliable And they will lie to your face to try to make an extra sale. Specifically the manager on duty at the time Marie as a manager she was very unprofessional. I purchased a body control module yesterday for a vehicle of one of my customers cars. The module was not for the right application and was off by a number. No worries that was another one at the junkyard so I went back with my receipt the part that was marked by the employee. The same employee who rang me out day before. These made up plocicies are crazy if I could give them a no star review I would. So even though I was not wrong about what I was being charged for they still insisted on charging me more money. Even know they ring me out wrong in the 1st place if it was the other way around so why should I have to pay more money as a customer this is crazy last visit to this place used to love coming here when I was a kid. read more

$2 per person to enter, you get a stamp to be able to go in and out like you're at the club but it's daytime and you're dealing with car parts. The pieces are pretty affordable and you can ask the cashier when you pay your $2 for a list of locations for the car you're looking for. I own a Geo prizm and I'm so used to looking for Toyota Corollas for car parts and while I'm walking through the rows looking for the corollas, I literally found MY CAR in one of the rows. Same year same make and model and even same color it was surreal. Be prepared to use your muscles and angle your body in ways you may not be used to depending on your height and what car part you are trying to get. read more

Large domestic auto junkyard. You pay $2 admission, and then pull the parts you want out of the well-arranged and labeled cars in the lot. There are separate sections for Fords, GMs, and trucks. Within those sections, you're pretty much on your own (though the cars are labeled with make, model, and year). This was my first junkyard experience, and I found the cars to be pretty picked over already, and with not many examples from 1994 onwards. Great if you have an old car and need a fender or a rear end - I saw a guy hauling one of these to the counter in a wheelbarrow - axle, wheels, and all. read more

I tried to return the fender I bought because it is not interchangeble with the vehicle i bought it for. So now Im screwed 17.99 for the fender. Went in to twice to return it. Supervisor still says no. Cant view cameras nor believe the customer. Waste of time, picknpull employees wont believe customers unless youre buying something. Theyre robots there. Pick-n-Pull in Rancho Cordova is ok, except when your tools get stolen. Never, ever walk away from your tools at that yard. Not even for two minutes. I was working on a 1989 car trying to see if I could attach a 1993 mirror onto the 1989 car. My tool bag was out of view inside the 1989 car. I needed to go back to the 1993 car to see something. So I walked over there, saw what I needed to see, and walked back. That was about 8 minutes. The car door was hanging open on the 1989 car when I returned, and my tool bag was gone. Somebody had obviously been watching me and waiting for me to walk away from the tool bag. Those are the kind of people that are on Pick-n-Pull's yard. That happened on a Wednesday afternoon with a half-empty parking lot and nobody on the yard anywhere near me that I was aware of. That's why I let my guard down. So you always have to worry about tool thieves. A friend lost a socket set at the Oakland Pick-n-Pull when he left the sockets unattended for 2 minutes. I told a Pick-n-Pull employee on the yard about my tool theft, and he said "Never walk away from your tools here. Maybe you can get away with it at Rocklin's Pick-n-Pull, but not at Rancho". Another Pick-n-Pull employee advised me to call the Schnitzer Steel theft hotline (1-800-216-2313). I did that, and the guy on the phone asked if I was an employee or customer of Schnitzer. I said "customer". To that he just told me to call the police, not Schnitzer. Pick-n-Pull has security cameras in the lobby that might have shown the thief with my tool bag, but Schnitzer was not interested. They're only interested in stolen parts, not customers' stolen tools. At the very least, Pick-n-Pull should have a prominent sign hanging on the lobby wall saying "Do not leave tools unattended for any amount of time, or they will get stolen". The week before I had my tools stolen, a guy got his wallet stolen at Rancho Pick-n-Pull yard. Either he dropped the wallet or left it unattended. A Pick-n-Pull employee got on the PA speakers repeatedly and implored the perp to return the wallet. The victim offered a reward. By the end of the day, nobody came forward. The Rancho Pick-n-Pull yard is crawling with thieves. read more
