I rarely do "non-food" reviews, unless a business went beyond, or just flat out needs to be sent to Valahalla. About two months ago, I went in to buy a used Nissan Maxima (I needed a new car, and had fond memories of my Maxima back in 2008). They had a used 2016 model, and I fell in love. I want to say cliches like they "worked with me," but naw, they are a down-to-earth, family owned used car dealership, that has their own repair shop connected. They offer special deals and to public servants (I am a teacher), but they go out of their way for cops, EMS, etc, as well. They hooked me up with a bottle of Sprite, too......good way to lubricate my throat after a day of keeping fifth graders in line. So, there I was yesterday, and I have a tire leaking air. They found the culprit (a metal shard that almost looked like military shrapnel) in my tire, removed it, patched it, filled it with air.....and didn't charge me. They ran a free diagnostic to make sure the car was still running well (it is), and again, all free of charge. Look.....if you need a new car, I would hit them up. The owner (and his family) are very personable, and talk like everyday people. They weren't the cliched high pressure people in suits talking down, they were talking to me as if I came to hang out.....but they wanted me to leave with a car I could afford. I was shopping for my daughter's first car for a couple weeks when I came across a deal at The Car Lot LLC in Rancho Cordova. I called to set up a test drive and met Hector and Lianna upon arrival. Hector showed me around the shop and took me on a tour like it was my first day on the job. It was a nice touch and is a great way to ease tension between buyer and seller that is common when car shopping. After the tour we sat and talked and he proactively told me the car I was interested in was a salvage title. Proactively! While most dealers would avoid this important detail unless asked he told me upfront and unprompted. Talk about a way to gain trust from a customer. I did the test drive and the atmosphere was laid back from beginning to end. After a few more days of shopping I decided to buy. We stayed in communication and was able to plan payment, pickup, etc without any pressure. This car was a present and was financed through a bank that took several days to pay. Hector was very flexible working with me getting the car home and letting me know how to proceed with payment every step of the way. Everyone I interacted was professional and friendly - Hector, Lianna, and all the mechanics. This is the 9th car I have purchased and easily the best experience.
