In November 2024 I was looking for specific model older BMW 5-series. I'm in Southern California and couldn't find the right one near me, so did a wider search and found one via Craigslist in Ata's lot. I'm already nervous about buying used cars, and even more nervous because it was too far away for me to look at. I read all these Yelp reviews for his business, and was impressed because he was rated higher than most used car dealerships. And he provided a free CarFax report, so I knew the car's history and was impressed it only had 2 owners over 24 years. I talked to Ata by phone about the car, then hired a mobile mechanic (also found through Yelp) in the Rancho Cordova area, and sent him in to inspect the car. Ata was very accommodating and tolerant of the mechanic's inspection and lengthy test drive, during which I was on the phone with the mechanic and Ata. I ended up buying the car, and Ata recommended a shipping option he's used that even cost less than what I could get through one of the national car transport companies. Ata took care of a small dent in the bumper before shipping the car, he included the 30-day drivetrain warranty noted on the Craigslist ad, handled all of the paperwork, and I ended up with a great car I'm thrilled to own! This review is based off of a phone call I had with the business. I called and heard a man with an accent (possibly Arabic, but certainly fluent in English) answer the phone. I asked about a car that was listed for sale on the dealer's craigslist posting. The man who answered the phone said very, very quickly after I asked about the car still listed on the craigslist ad, that the car had sold. Then, without missing a beat, he began to list off a very fluent (perhaps memorized?) list of other similar, more recent and almost certainly more expensive cars that he COULD sell me. Knowing that lying about inventory with a 'bait' advertisement (an ad about a well-priced car that is not on the lot) is a very, very common tactic of dishonest used car dealers to sucker impulsive or highly motivated (mildly desperate) buyers into their lots, I waited patiently for the man to finish listing off about thirty seconds of sales pitch that I hadn't asked for. Then, when he had seemed to have finished, I asked "Oh when did that car that I asked about sell?". "Yesterday" he responded without missing a beat whatsoever. He then launched into another unsolicited sales pitch. This man's behavior, especially his preloaded sales pitches and very, very ready answers to questions that could expose his dishonesty, began to arouse much suspicion about how trustworthy his word was. I suspected at this point that any question about who bought the car that was still dishonestly listed on his Craigslist ad would be met with some sort of anger or hostility on his part, even though I had been extremely calm and polite in the tone and timing of any of the very few and very short questions I'd asked this man. When he'd ended his second unsolicited sales pitch, I said "Who bought the car listed on your Craigslist ad". Sure enough, his tone became immediately hostile. He began to make accusatory remarks toward me, finally said "What's your problem" and hung up on me. I suppose there is a mathematical chance that he actually did have a very good deal on a car that had sold 'yesterday'. For that reason alone, I am listing two stars rather than one. I, however, will not be doing business with this used car dealer, and just wanted to share my experience with the general public. read more

They make it difficult to browse Craigslist looking for car parts and accessories because dozens of their listings appear despite being completely unrelated. TL;DR: I'm happy with the car I purchased here. I'm not happy with the service I received, specifically when it came to paperwork. First they tried to tell me it was not common practice to take a car off-site to be inspected by an independent mechanic. Wrong. The law that says I am able to do so is posted in your office. Then they put the wrong VIN on the initial agreement we signed. Then they put the wrong price on the next set of paperwork. All of these errors were corrected when I pointed them out, but this raised some red flags. Then the car I purchased did not have a current registration sticker. I should have noticed this and raised the issue before driving it off the lot. I got a ticket from CHP within days. I followed up with the dealer who told me this was not a valid ticket and he would not accept responsibility. I followed up with CHP who told me it was definitely the dealer's responsibility. A month and a half later I'm wondering when my registration will arrive when I get a call from the dealership. They lost the smog certificate for my car and need me to go get it smogged so that they can complete the paperwork with the DMV. At least they reimbursed me for this and the registration arrived within two weeks. And I guess they didn't file the paperwork for the car I traded in, hoping they would be able to resell it first. Two months after signing the title over to the dealership I receive a notice from the DMV who thinks that I still own that car, which is now uninsured. I've since submitted my own notice of transfer and release, which I probably should have done myself anyway, but it would be nice if this dealership actually filed the paperwork they said they would. read more

Fraud warning! They tried to change the terms of our contract after it was signed. A couple weeks after I picked up my car they said there was some small problem with the paperwork requiring me to sign a new copy of the same contract. I read what they put in front of me, the interest rate increased to 25%! They tried to blame the financing company that was supposed to have my loan, but I called them and there wasn't even an account opened. Then they blamed Experian, said my credit rating changed drastically in those two weeks. Experian confirmed this was not true, and that they had not even run my credit as they claimed (yes, they checked for 'soft hits' too.) Eventually they were forced to take the car back and refund my full deposit, but first one of them tried to sneak into the car while the other tried to distract me. It was by far the most bizarre experience I've had at a car dealership. read more

Bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla here for my lady . Our first experience buying and will never buy from small dealer again due to the experience. Bought the car in beginning of May , took it out for Memorial Day at the park and received a ticket for expired tag. Took it to the dealership and he explained that I shouldn't even received that ticket although the plates were last registered to a truck in 2017. Was told I would received my 2018 NOT 2019 sticker at the end of may but received In the middle of June and the tags expired in August!! I End up paying for the ticket and the dealer made me signed a loss damaged waiver form. We like the car and are happy with the car but the paper works weren't explained out clearly and felt rushed the next day to sign with a "no need to worry" type of feels. Therefore Now we're stuck with calling our car insurance and THEIR bank in which their bank, are saying they don't have a proof of our car insurance. read more
