Very fast and courteous! My neighbor is an elderly woman with a handicap. She locked herself outside the back of the house on a rainy cold day and was completely frazzled with nowhere to go inside the fence. My worst nightmare happened: my husband and I both walked out of our apt without our keys. We live in a newer building with unique heavy locks so I was worried about calling just any locksmith to get us back in and how much they would charge. Simply awesome local business (not a franchise of a national chain)! I needed a new chipkey made for our friends' car, which we had borrowed for the weekend. The metal key came apart from the door opener fob. I could turn it in the ignition but the interlock prevented it from starting the engine. I called Kobi late on Saturday morning and he said he would be there within two hours. He arrived on time and even called ahead to let me know his arrival time, just as he promised he would. When he arrived he pulled into our parking garage in a well-equipped van, and proceed to cut and program two spare keys. He has a very cool CNC key cutter and used a laptop to handle the key programming; it was clear he had done this many times before and knew exactly what he was doing. Price was fair (he takes credit cards) and as quoted, and Kobi was super nice. As far as I am concerned, there is no reason to use any other locksmith in SF. read more

Kobi is absolutely a pleasure to watch in action. He's very fast, methodical and incredibly courteous. You can tell he truly loves what he does and takes great pride in it. For me, he installed a deadbolt and an August Smart Lock so I could lock and unlock our front door via iPhone. He said it normally goes much quicker but he found a small defect in the August hardware and had to do some minor surgery on it. Afterward he said he would notify the developers so they could make the product better. How proactive is that? He also didn't leave a speck of dust after drilling multiple holes in our door and door jam. Really if I could have every technician I ever work with at this level of service, friendliness and efficiency the world would be a better place. Price was totally fair and agreed upon up front. This man is truly a smith of lock. I thought his promises were too good to be true, but he under promised and over-delivered. One of my Nissan Cube remote entry key stopped working. After I search yelp, I decided to call up Kobi because of such positive reviews. I call him and left a message. He call me back within 10 minutes, ask some questions about my vehicle and key type and quote me a very reasonable price. He said it will take 3 days to get the replacement OEM key and exactly 3 days later, I got a call from him that the key is here and we schedule a time. Kobi is the best! I called PickBuster to fix a jammed front door lock. Kobi showed up and fixed the lock although he said the problem was actually with the frame lock that was causing the problem. He also suggested to replace the normal lock with a Mul T Lock which is almost impossible to pick. I agreed because I am familiar with these locks and I know how good they are. I lost the keys to my VW GTI and stupidly didn't have a spare set. These guys were a lifesaver. I called in the morning before they opened and they called back first thing right at 8am with an estimate on time and cost. They were able to fit me in in the afternoon that same day. They were able to get into my locked car and cut a key without having a guide key for reference. This was a really complicated key that also required chip programming and a new remote fab, but they were able to come to where my car was parked with a full van with all the stuff they needed. Took about 2-3 hours and I now have 2 sets of keys that are pretty much indistinguishable from what I would have gotten at the dealer. Very happy and impressed with the quality of work. read more

I called whatever locksmith showed up at the top of a google search, when that guy realized I needed to get into my vehicle AND have a new ignition key made, he referred me to Kobi. Kobi is THE man. My situation was extra tricky, my vehicle has been repaired with door locks and ignition cylinder which aren't the original from the manufacturer. So when the programming codes for the first key didn't work, he used an advanced diagnostic computer to find out what the codes actually are..I get the feeling other guys would have just sat there scratching their heads. In the end, he made sure my missing key would no longer open or start the vehicle, he gave me 2 new remote keys, plus 2 new metal keys just in case, and he taught me the remote access code on the door panel (which I've never known) all for roughly the same price my dealer told it would cost to simply have 1 new duplicate remote key made. read more

Absent neighbors, unfriendly strangers, 80+ degree weather, and about to run late to a meeting, meant I had to do a quick yelp search to find a "mobile" mechanic. The first three places I tried didn't answer my calls. Like other reviewers have mentioned, Kobi is VERY reliable and responsive -- he called me back almost immediately after leaving a quick message.
