I ordered a sandwich on a sourdough roll and ended up getting a Dutch crunch roll which I can not stand. On top of that, the bread was stale and falling apart. I also asked for pickles which assuming they were dill. Nope, gross sweet pickles. Probably should have a pickle disclaimer. read more

Talk about a place that is hidden and when you discover it your entire world has just expanded. It was a busy Saturday and I with two other friends came down the hill from a Men's Conference and we wanted ice cream so we yelped and this location came up. The ice cream was half off and I had a scoop of ther strawberry and it was incredible and when I say a scoop it was like a Mountain. My friend had a milkshake and he stated that it was one of the best that he has had in a long time. The sandwhiches are incredible especiaslly the turkey cranberry one of my favorites. They have an entire indoor room that you can host a large party in and the staff were coureteous and helpful. I am going to make my way back here even though I am lactose intolerant and others may suffer with my decision to eat their ice cream but I say: "So be it!" I was craving a banana split for a few days, do we (my husband and I) went to the Sonora Creamery and low n behold, no bananas = no banana split. Ended up with a hot fudge sundae. The only fudge on that Sunday was underneath the ice cream. And there was so little of it I assume there was a shortage. Disappointing!!! read more

We were in from out of town and stopped by for milshakes. 6 of us ordeed them. On the sign outside it said real ice cream used in their milkshakes. Being a "Creamey" we were really looking forward to some great shakes. Unfortunately what we got was chocolate and vanilla milk. Not bad chocolate and vanilla milk but we couldnt detect any ice cream in the shakes at all. We should have said something right then and there but didnt. Hopefully they see this and correct the problem or they wont have any customers coming back for more in the future. read more

The reviews you see here are for the old creamery. 50$ for three sandwiches to get almost completely raw bacon on our falling apart sandwiches, after waiting for at least 25 minutes in 100 degree weather. What in the world. The worst place we've ever been to. Also, what you gotta do, but the sandwiches were wrapped in blue scotch tape also, be advised. The sitting area is outside with no fans. Ordered 5 sandwiches and three milk shakes. After I placed the order, the staff seemed to disappear. After an hour of waiting we received three of the five sandwiches. I asked where the rest of order was and after addition time they brought out the other two sandwiches. I reminded them we also ordered three milk shakes, again after waiting more time they brought out three half melted shakes. The order was to go and when we got home we discovered the meat on the sandwiches didn't smell right and we ended up throwing the entire uneatable meal away. Boy, have we been missing out. We've been up here for years, and always thought the Sonora Creamery was, well, a creamery. Ice cream, right? Who knew we had this great sandwich place? We heard about it from a friend, and three of us went to lunch. I had egg salad (not on the menu, but made by request). My husband had The Miner, and my mother-in-law had a turkey sandwich. The bread is delicious (especially the Dutch crunch!) and the sandwiches are really good - and huge! They also make breakfast sandwiches, so we're going to try that next. They just opened a second location right off 108 in Jamestown. read more

This was my first time there and I have to say I was not disappointed my sandwich was delicious I had the southwest chipotle chicken with the works and my husband had the pinecrest he also said it was very good . We can't wait to go back and try the other sandwiches. read more

I needed something to eat and I saw that Sonora Creamery had gotten pretty good reviews. The reviews were spot on... with one caveat - the ice cream wasn't the highlight. The sandwiches are awesome. Their secret? Cream Cheese. I asked, "What's good here?" The answer was "Everything." A good answer, but that doesn't help my dilemma. When I saw "hot pastrami, avocado and bacon" on the ingredients list, I was sold "I'll go with the Miner". I was then informed that the Miner is one of the most popular sandwiches. Gee. Thanks for telling me that post-choice. But on to the food. I asked for a recommendation on bread and the decision came down to sour dough; it was a little tougher than i would have liked. The main problem was everything was trying to slip out when I took a bite. The taste was great. It was an awesome sandwich. There's some kind of pesto sauce on the lettuce too. I can honestly say this sandwich shop made a very good sandwich for $7. The ice cream, was lackluster. It's a Marble Slab, Cold Stone clone. The ice cream was melted which gave it a frozen yogurt consistency. Not only that, the vanilla had a banana taste to it. I ate half of it and managed to push my spoon through the bottom of the cup and it was downhill from there. I finally threw away about 1/8 of it when I was getting gas. If you know me, throwing away ice cream just doesn't happen, so something was definitely off. If I wanted a sandwich, I'd go there again, if I hadn't driven out of Sonora this afternoon. For reference, this place is WAY better than Pinocchio's, in the same shopping center. read more

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review the Creamery...shame on me! I always know to trust friends when they say to go somewhere...and I should have listened, because they were right. They told me when I first moved up here that we should go - it's the best sandwich shop in town, and it is. I think it took so long because my husband HATES sandwiches with a PASSION....but guess what....he loves the Creamery too. :-) Here's a testament to how much I love me a sandwich from the Creamery - I even go by myself and eat there...I never do that... We've been more times than we can count, never have had a bad sammie...ever. I love sandwiches and these are yummy. Had the pastrami and cream cheese. Split it with my husband so we could have ice cream for dessert but we were so full we had to skip the ice cream. Had a great lunch here today! Sandwiches were flavorful, made with very fresh ingredients and tasted really fresh and refreshing. I give 4 stars because I've worked in a similar setting before and I know that sometimes these things happen.. but the last sandwich I got there had a long hair in it, and I just haven't been able to bring myself back. Other than the hair, the sandwich was delicious. I hope the next time I go I wont have that issue. read more

So I got a grilled pepper jack cheese sandwich on sour dough with Dill pickle.. it was amazing.. but as I was biting into the second half, a short black hair appeared, melted in the cheese. I love this place. At first I thought their sandwiches were nothing special, until I had some garlic sauce put on one! Now I crave their sandwiches! The more I go to this place the more I love it. All of the ingredients are the freshest. And the staff is very welcoming. Can't forget the free cookie that comes with the sandwich, quite chewy and delicious. Worst service, very unclean. Had a dog in the back. Pretty sure that is against safety and sanitation codes. Would never go back. This place is a MUST GO TO. I have recommended the creamery to all my friends who drive up to Sonora. The food is fabulous as is the decor. Brought me back to days gone by. When there I had a filling sandwich (no cutting back on fillings for them!!!) on fresh bread. The sandwich came hot, and delivered with smiles and cheer. I was almost to full to have an ice cream but Iit looked so good that I just had to have one. The Sonora Creamery although similar in preparation is far superior to Cold Stone. I cannot wait to head back up to Sonora to stop in and satisfy my craving for another delicious relaxing meal. What makes this place besides the food is the staff. I'm puzzled by the glowing reviews. The few times I've been to Sonora Creamery the staff was unfriendly and didn't seem to care if I was there or not.
