Service was like any typical hipster place ---u tell them ur from Detroit ---n act funny right away ----even tho u see them up n down Woodward making fun of homeless ppl--after paying $25 for a "watchamacallit-tini" in a vegan papercup--i chose the fig pizza w bacon ----ambience was sunshine ---I can't recall the pizza my acquaintance ordered it was pepperoni nothing worth mentioning ---

Simply amazing. I had the Pie-Sci when I worked in Detroit but that was 5 years ago. Now there's one in Oak Park! Green Lantern Pizza has a competitor! This is the best pizza I've had this year. 6/5 went above and beyond. We got: Spin Doctors - 5/5 Spectacular! Cheesebread 3/5 too doughy and slightly bland Take Bahn Mi 6/5 - simply incredible, it was like eating a Bahn Mi. Pep Squad - 4/5 - delicious and well made.

Having been a previous patron of the Detroit location, I was psyched to try this place! I know they recently opened and wanted to wait a bit before coming, but tonight was the night. I ordered online and I found the add on descriptions slightly confusing. I had to call to ask about what VAL honey is (it's "hot" honey, more on that in a minute) and instead of the normal "light, normal, extra" options, it's small or large drizzle with zero clarification about what that even looks like. They also don't specify how many slices are in each pizza size. The other issue I had is that they offer option to get text updates but I got none. Obviously, I was hungry and it estimated at least an hour which seemed like a long time considering how late it was. But, I figured it's Friday so that's probably why. I got there and it was ready, but for who knows how long? I eventually got a text long after I was home saying it was ready. Might be worth reworking this system. I got the square pizza, and it's actually cooked perfectly. Expensive to add each item but that's about the standard now. Their "hot honey" isn't super great but it's definitely spicy! I was hoping it would actually taste like honey but it really is just sriracha. Breadsticks were hard and tasted like pita chips more than anything and they don't automatically offer pizza sauce as a dipping sauce (why?) so I elected to get the garlic cream cheese. However, it was almost frozen even with the 10 min drive home. Disappointing. Overall, I don't think that I'll be back for awhile. I'm sure they have some kinks to work out and hopefully they'll do that.

Good service this is a small pick up only pizza place but I consider myself a pizza connoisseur and after seeing this place was rated among the top Detroit pizza places I was intrigued. Needless to say i was disappointed in the pizza and breadsticks compared to others that were rated among the top the pizza lacked flavor and toppings and the cheesy bread was dry

    Dry and flavorless!

Not a traditional pizza place. The topping selection is very eclectic. Worst crust ever. Do not plan to go back.

This is really delicious pizza. We are blessed in this area with a lot of great Pizza, and obviously a lot of great Detroit style Pizza, however, this place does set the bar very high. It's obvious the ingredients are fresh and it's equally obvious that those that prepare this Pizza really care about what they're doing. They also have some really good gelato! This place is well worth it.

The building is super cute, staff were really friendly. Unfortunately, can't say that I'm impressed by the pizza. My friend and I both ordered the Hot Honey Ricotta-Roni, one as is and the other no meat. We both felt the pizza lacked sauce and flavor. There was more bread to eat through than toppings and that was disappointing. For the pizza where no meat was requested and they said they couldn't do a substitution, you would've thought they'd add extra cheese or whatever other sauce they put on the pizza. I did request this over the phone but the background was extremely loud, so it may have been missed. Overall, the next time I visit Michigan, I'd be interested in trying another of their vegetarian pizzas to give it a shot. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly.

I will preface this by saying I didn't order a pizza. That being said I ordered the grilled cheese…read morewhich touted mozzarella, pesto, baby spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes on sourdough. I opted for the garlic fries upcharge, bringing my total to $19.00. Somehow I justified it because I like these toppings and these toppings weirdly weren't available on a pizza. Or at least I didn't see it via the phone based ordering system. Yes, that's right, this is all of the future check with wrist bands and pour your own beer situation. Don't look for a paper menu, they ain't here. My sandwich wasn't a grilled cheese. It was basically pesto toast with large sun-dried tomatoes and scraps of mozzarella. Baby spinach was just missing. I did inquire to the host (perchance the only actual employee?) and he did talk to the kitchen and I guess they were out. With that information I turned to my friend Robert and said, "You know why we have servers? So they can let you know they're 86 spinach." I suppose I would have adjusted my order had I known this too. What's nuts is, they have ingredients to make a better grilled cheese. I mean, step one: add cheese. Why not mix the ricotta and pesto together and then add like havarti or something that may actually melt and have flavor. The sun-dried tomatoes should be sliced smaller. The garlic fries were fine, but also could have had more flavor. Robert's and neighboring table's pizza looked fine. Is it better than any other place offering Detroit style pizza? Hard to say. I guess I'm not in a hurry to go back. The kind host did make an adjustment to my bill for lack of spinach--but having a server would have prevented that being necessary.

I was heading home hungry when I passed Elephant & Co, a restaurant I had on my radar for months…read more It was way past lunch and well before dinner, so I was surprised by the steady stream of customers in this pizza/tap/game room, a difficult genre to define. Upon entering, the staffer explained the set-up to enjoy a variety of beers, poured and priced by the volume. Located at the back of the restaurant, customers can select beer flavors and serve themselves, no bartender needed. A tab is started and charged based on usage, tracked through the wristband provided to you. I ordered over mobile via a QR code, selecting pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip and a large, Detroit-style pizza. The soft pretzels were tender with a lovely crusty exterior. I inhaled the first pretzel since it was past lunchtime, savoring the salty, cheesy bites. I must admit, the pretzels' saltiness temporarily affected my taste buds because the pizza had little flavor, even with the pepperoni, sausage, and olives. I definitely did not taste the hot honey drizzle. I want to praise the light, airy crust. For a deep dish pizza, it did not sit heavy in my tummy. I also appreciated that the pizza was served on a rack, to allow air circulation and to prevent sogginess. The space was dark and had both large communal tables and smaller, intimate tables. This allowed for larger groups to enjoy community beyond a friend group. The other plus is the board games that are available to pass the time while enjoying various beers.

I was craving pasta for dinner and their prices were reasonable, plus I think we got $8 off with a DoorDash deal. We ordered: -Chicken fettuccine alfredo: pretty basic, but hit the spot. My husband pointed out that they used canned mushrooms, not fresh, but it still tasted good to me. -Pesto fettuccine: oddly, I didn't like this quite as much as the chicken fettuccine alfredo, but it was still decent. -Garlic cheesy bread: also basic, but tasty, it tasted like they had rubbed garlic on it then melted some cheese. Came with marinara sauce. They also threw in two dinner rolls with our order. Overall for the price I would order from here again, for some reason everywhere else we looked at on DoorDash for pasta was really expensive. However, don't expect anything super fancy.
