Amazing Tacos, I got the Al Pastor, Chorizo, Hot Chicken, and Carne Asada street tacos. Being someone who is super picky with Mexican and grew up eating authentic Mexican these where great. For the 4 tacos I had I would rank the Chorizo as #1. It was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of salt. After that I would say the Al Pastor, then the hot chicken, and last the carne asada. Went here be because it's a DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. He always goes to places that are amazing. Service was amazing and the staff greeted us with a friendly smile and greeting as soon as we walked in the door. The tacos were yummy. Indoor and patio type seating with nice Latin music. Pie Town Tacos is a must try! It may be off the beaten path ( near City Winery) but worth finding for its tasty and very authentic Mexican food. You may get lucky and find street parking, but otherwise it's scan to pay. You'll walk in and place an order with the friendly staff, grab a beverage and find seating in the second building which has a covered outdoor vibe, or go through to the back for real outdoor patio seating- perfect for a nice day. It's a small menu. Instead of tacos I ordered the "make your own bowl" with black beans and rice, cojita cheese, some veges and I added chicken for the protein. It tasted authentic but I should have asked for some sour cream as it was a bit dry, even when mixed up. $8 bowl + $2.50 additional for protein. Not a bad price for lunch! They offer bottled beverages or soda fountain drinks, as well. I like the vibe and food here and will return to try the tacos. There is one restroom right past the soda fountain. It's spacious and clean but other patrons could be right outside the door . One of my new favorite taco spots in the city! The guy who took our order was so friendly, and really enjoyed sharing with us their different menu items and how he suggested to order them. We ordered chips and queso, two chicken tacos, and two el pastor tacos, and everything was amazing. They have burritos and some bowls as well but I wanted to go with some simple tacos on the first try. $3 each and $1 extra for steak. Totally fair as these are generous portions. Solid spot for authentic tacos. Food - I tried every street taco and the Nashville hot chicken and fish taco as well as the green rice and the desserts. Overall I think the food is solid. I agree that it's authentic except for the Nash tacos. The meat is well made and juicy - large portions on the tacos. I will say this is a preference thing but I thought it was too much meat on the tacos which can make it dry when eating it especially since it's on a small tortilla. I think the birria tasted good but once again personal preference I like my birria tortillas to more cooked on the outside and less wet/floppy. Aside from that the tacos and birria taste good! Service - The staff is welcoming and polite. All smiles when you walk inside. Went during lunch time and it wasn't much of a wait. They don't take long to call you up for your food. Really obsessed with this place whenever I have a hankering for excellent Mexican street style tacos. I know they have other things on the menu, but the regular pollo/chicken street style taco is the stuff of my dreams and I've started over-ordering when I get takeout here so that I always have yummy leftovers. Tacos are all served on corn tortillas, topped with chopped white onion and cilantro, served with the perfect spicy-but-not-too-spicy salsa verde and some pickled veggies on the side. The queso is also amazing with made in-house tortilla chips. I would love to come in and try other things at some point but the sell/extreme awesomeness of that chicken taco really prevents me from being willing to get anything else when I come here. This made our list of places to try during our recent trip to Nashville. It was featured on an episode of Triple D and did not disappoint. We came in for an early lunch to try it out and ordered five different tacos. My favorite was the carne asada taco, but the Nashville hot chicken came in a very close second. We weren't hungry, around 10:30 a.m., but these tacos were packed with meat. If you are a big eater or coming in hungry, I could see five of these tacos going down easy because they are that tasty. Once you walk in, there's an open kitchen where you can order your food. There are a couple of barstool spots to eat in the main room, but there's also an indoor back area for dining. The back area is air-conditioned and very clean. There's paid parking right next door, but I'm sure there's street parking available if needed. For my first visit to Pie Town Tacos, I ordered a Nashville-style hot chicken taco and a hot cauliflower taco. I was blown away by how spicy they were, and that's coming from a spicy food lover. The chicken was crispy and well breaded and the cauliflower was almost indistinguishable aside from a different texture. The slaw on top did a great job of balancing the heat. The street-style tacos themselves are deceivingly filling -- an order of two was perfect for lunch. The tortillas were delicious. I love the condensed menu and fast (and friendly!) service, which makes this a great spot for a quick lunch. Seating is somewhat limited, but we had no trouble finding a table for our group of 8 in the enclosed area behind the restaurant. There is also a sizable patio. Seems like this is still one of Nashville's best kept secrets. Came to Pie Town Tacos for a quick lunch before our flight out of TN. Excellent street tacos! Their food truck was in town, so we had to give them a try. They were great! The Carne Asada (beef) taco was probably the highlight in terms of great flavor. Super tasty! The Hot Chicken taco was excellent, with great flavor and a good amount of heat. Not so spicy that it was overwhelming, but it certainly cleared my sinuses. The slaw and pickles added a nice touch. The Chorizo taco was also very good, with lots of flavor. The meat was a little on the dry side, but the taste more than made up for that. The Pollo (chicken) taco also had good flavor, though not as much as the other tacos. Chips & Queso also excellent, because of the queso of course. Great flavor. The tacos are all pretty simple, but the meats are tasty and they are very generous with the meat. The tacos are the typical street taco size, which is to say they are a little small. BEWARE! I suspect there is a serious scam going on with this business. I placed a simple order by stating, "Give me one of every taco." That's 8 tacos for the record. Minutes later, they produced 6 tacos but charged me for 8. You don't have to be a math expert to notice you've been shortchanged. But when I asked about my 2 missing tacos, they didn't check the digital receipt, they didn't seem to remember me ordering and paying for 8 tacos, and they just glared at me. How do you forget the guy who walked in 10 minutes earlier and said, "Give me one of everything!"? Or do you really not know how many tacos you have on your own menu? That's perhaps the most shocking part of it all, and the employees quickly changed the subject. What makes me suspect a scam is that I mentioned my experience to a friend, and they said the same thing happened to both them AND their girlfriend, charged for 4 tacos but only getting 3 followed by "the glare." Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a fraud. I come from three generations of restaurateurs and the customer is always right, especially when the receipt proves it. Unfortunately, I was unable to convince them to produce my two missing tacos. I'm sure the Better Business Bureau will be very interested. Now, most angry patrons who endured such unfortunate behavior would vent by selecting 1 star on Yelp and writing a nasty post. But I believe the ratings should actually reflect the food at the restaurant and nothing more, so I'll give them 3 stars for quality. It's a quaint space in an old building that houses a small kitchen, with a cool detached box that serves as indoor dining, and an outdoor deck above that. The Nashville hot chicken taco is superior, crispy chicken in a mild but flavorful sauce. The hot catfish taco was good but less crispy. The al pastor is phenomenal with tender, slow-roasted pork belly. But I wish I had known it contained my nemesis cooked pineapple (this isn't mentioned on the menu). If you're not a fan of Hawaiian pizzas, you'll want to hold the pineapple. The chorizo taco was very flavorful, but the chicken and steak tacos were less impressive. I'll never know what the hot cauliflower taco nor the pescado tastes like because I didn't receive them. It's a hip space with small, affordable street tacos at a reasonable price considering how fully they're packed. I only wish I could promise you won't be the next victim of the taco scam. read more

I've seen reviews on this taco shop and it's less than a mile from my apartment so I decided I must try it ASAP. I ordered online and went in to pickup. The staff was super friendly and the place was extremely clean! As for tacos I got hot chicken, carne asada and al pastor. Loved all of them!! The hot chicken was definitely spicccyyyy. I like the touch of homemade pickles and the cotija cheese and slaw make this taco a little more unique than your typical Nashville hot tacos at other places. The carne asada (as you can see in my pic) was full of flavor and not dry like some places! Al pastor was probably my favorite just because I love pineapple on my pizza and tacos and love that the pineapple chunks were grilled too. I love tacos, and this place is legit! I've been remorse about not having any good street tacos in Nashville recently (in my opinion) and then I saw this place come up. Initially I dismissed it because of the name and the fact that they are only open for lunch, but I was curious and actually got off work early today and figured I'd go check it out. It's a tiny place with no inside seating (go in, order, head out) but there is a small seating area adjacent to it if you want to eat there. The staff was friendly. The menu was small but with enough choices you didn't feel like something was lacking. I ordered the pollo, carne asada, and nashville hot cauliflower tacos with a side of green rice to go. It was a fast turn around and I only had to wait a few minutes before my order was up. I took it home to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected amazing smell coming from the bag. When I opened it up I was happy to see decent portions for $3 and $3.5 tacos. They are packed with filling! Let me tell you, each one of these tacos was so good. The flavor was incredible and they weren't dry so I didn't feel the need to smother them in salsa, although their tomatillo sauce was tasty! The green rice was amazing too! For the location it's not all that worth it unfortunately. I had the chicken,pork, and steak street tacos and for me the steak was the only thing that was worth it.
