I saw that Pi95 was going to be featured at Veterans United tonight & decided to drop by. What a great night - incredible pizza, delicious craft brews and local comedians! Awesome! The star of the night was Pi95! I had the pepperoni & it was fantastic. Great crust, tasty sauce & some of the best pepperoni I've had in years! The owner & chef, Evan, let me take a look behind the scenes while he made my pie. He showed me the brick oven made in Italy. He selects the wood to fire it and keeps a close eye on the temps (nearly 1000 degrees at the dome!) I shared the pie with my table mates and they were so impressed, they got a pie to take home! I was pleasantly surprised by this food truck. They were at my job and I was a little hesitant about having them for lunch because, with other food trucks, I usually end up with a slice of pizza complete with a complimentary grease puddle with each bite. My coworkers were going so I figured I'd give them a shot. As I walked up I noticed that they have a wood fire pizza oven built into the truck. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the white based pizza (I think it's called the Bianca on their menu but I could be wrong). The pizza was thin (my favorite) and tasted absolutely delicious. I was hesitant when they said they put lemon zest on it but it gave it a nice pop of flavor and ended up being one of my favorite things about it. They give you your own personal pizza with a drink which I think is fairly priced since you can go to Mellow Mushroom and pay the same price for a smaller personal pizza. Pie 95 is on point! My husband and I recently relocated to Jacksonville FL and were craving margarita pizza. I saw a picture of their pies on Instagram and could tell immediately they folks know what they are doing. We had the margarita pie last week and it was extremely tasty! The service was great and the pie was ready very quickly. The crust is delish as well and has the perfect amount of sprinkled salt on the edges. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! I've seen a lot of talk about this truck and how good it was so I waited for the right opportunity to go check it out. The opportunity turned out to be the day after a Yelp Elite event when I clearly didn't have enough to eat. I follow this truck on Facebook and Instagram and today they were at the Town Center. Oh geez, the Town Center during lunchtime and it's the holiday season? Screw it, I thought. I'm hungry for pizza. The walking from and to my car in the enormous parking lot for food will cancel out any carbs and calories I'll intake hahaha. Evan the pizza guy was busy at work on pizza while a young woman was taking orders. I was a little hurt when I checked out the menu and saw that they didn't have mushrooms today. I heart mushrooms on my pizza. That's ok, I'll get'em another time. I chose the Herbivore which has all the veggies that they had today: onions, cherry tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, jalepenos, artichokes, and pesto. The lady told me it would be about 5 mins until it was done and she was right. That's pretty darn fast. I was even hungrier after the mile-hike back to my car so I had a slice before I headed back to work. I love the char on the crust (gives it more flavor) and it was so light and airy. It's thinness made it very easy to fold in half and shove in my mouth. The melted chunks of mozzarella cheese were perfect. This is how I should be eating cheese on a pizza. While I've never had all these toppings together before, I really enjoyed it, so much I went ahead and ate the entire pizza. Gotta come back for mushrooms though :p read more

I would call them artesian pizza The dough was very thin and light, the sauce was perfect not too sweet or acidic, and they do these more traditional Italian style with the olive oil, slices of real mozzarella and fresh toppings. It...was...AMAZING! Usually I stick with white pizza since the places I've tried pepperoni from in Jacksonville just didn't right...I took a chance with this truck and got a pepperoni pizza...It was VERY thin, crisp, but chewy...the crust had a buttery,garlic taste... I could've eaten the whole thing right in my friends car even though I was already full...but that's just being plain greedy...lol I've always said I really don't care for the pizza in Jacksonville, but THIS food truck is the exception...I wish I got two to go... I heard about this place on a "things to do in jax" instagram. I finally was able to come down and it was so amazing!!! The staff was super friendly. I was asked if it was my first time, and the lady at the front was super helpful. She asked my preferences and gave me a ton of ideas. I ended up going with the Cheese Please and the Pepperoni. It did not disappoint! The crust was fluffy but still crunchy with a great char. (Not burnt!) the ingredients tasted super fresh, I especially loved their tomato sauce. The guys cooking were super friendly, keeping up conversation with us. It was super cute inside as well! Even though it was a first, I immediately felt welcomed. I had heard rave reviews about this food truck, so one Friday afternoon, I walked with one of my coworkers who is friends with the owners to the JSO Police Memorial Building, where they were parked in the parking lot. Chef Evan saw us from a distance, waved, and came to meet us. He is super personable, talks to you the whole time you are ordering and waiting on your food, and prepares your pizzas right before your eyes. There is a wood fire oven attached to the truck, so it is the real deal. He makes sure that there are no bubbles in the dough, no holes, and the pizza is cooked just right with minimal burning. I chose the pepperoni pizza, which as you can see from the pictures, is loaded with chunks of mozzarella cheese and huge slices of pepperoni. My coworker and friend is a fan of the margherita pizza, which has basil leaves, tomatoes, and mozzarella. Everything is delicious and fresh, and the conversation is relaxing while you wait. I'm glad to see such a great food truck doing so well, and I hope that they will continue to be successful!! read more

Absolutely blown away. I have tried countless times to find a proper pizza place where quality ingredients are used and this is now my new favorite place. The owner Evan has a passion for what he does it shows within his amazing pizza. First off I want to mention the type of pizza he makes is a rustic old world style which reminds me of a well renowned place called Lombardi's on Spring Street in Manhattan. So for those used to the traditional American pizza you won't get it here but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. The crust is crispy and doesn't flop when you pick a slice up. The sauce is amazing and the fresh mozzarella he uses is even better. I highly recommend this place to any pizza connoisseur. read more

The very wise Pie95 pizza once said "Neapolitan inspired pizza should always have a leoparding charing around the crust". I used to think Neapolitan inspired pizza was plain, snobby, and lacking the "flavor" we're so used to getting at greasy American pizzerias. The amount of care that goes into this canvas of a dough has me craving it multiple times a week. This isn't a pizza appreciation post, although the cheese and toppings are alwaya fresh too, but more of a dough appreciation post. Considering the dough is the first part of a pizza that touches your tongue, it should be able to stand out on its own; and Pie 95pizza is one of the few places I know that has mastered the perfectly salty, flaky, and doughy bread. It's an elevated specimen that has turned my opinion around on neapolitan style pizza. Now I'm just waiting for them to set up shop permanently somewhere so I can be even more of a regular. read more
