Went to pieology Pizza tonight for dinner and took advantage of their two-for-$24 special, which is already a win by itself. I customized my pizza with half mild red sauce and half spicy red sauce, topped with cheese, chicken, spinach, and pineapple. Then I drizzled a little BBQ sauce before baking and finished it off with a bit of ranch on top, absolute game changer. The pizza came out amazing. The balance of flavors was on point: savory, sweet, a little spicy, and super satisfying without being overwhelming. Shoutout to the employee working there, incredibly helpful and genuinely nice. He even hooked me up with a Mike's Hot Honey packet to try, and wow... he was right. A little goes a long way, and it added the perfect sweet heat to the slice. Finished the meal with a Reese's cookie. Didn't even need to eat the whole thing,I was already fully satisfied, which says a lot. Great food, great service, and definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. read more

Even if you offer to pay. Example: No double pepperoni allowed. Pepperoni and sausage? No problem. Just not two servings of pepperoni. That's crazy talk. Another one: No extra cheese... if it's the same type of cheese. If it's different types, all good. So double mozzarella? No. But mozzarella, shredded cheese, parm? All good, baby! On the road and I don't like to stop at fast food spots, happen to see there was this pizza spot! Excited that they had a gluten-free cauliflower, pizza crust option! Stopped by and there wasn't too much of a line just a couple people ahead of me, they only make this in one size so you can't get this in a large just FYI. The guy was super nice and didn't try to rush my order but he was still efficient! His name was Steven very courteous and looks like a kind person, everybody's attitude in there was very positive. He was patient to explain things like what kind of sauces there were, and what types of different cheeses, I was able to pick anything I wanted, then there's the veggies section and for those of you that love, pineapple like me, you can pick and choose what you'd like to add on as well! I do have one thing to point out that I didn't like, but it doesn't have anything to do with this location that the company should be aware about. They have a meatball that is called a beef meatball. Just letting you all know that it is not 100% beef, it is a combination of beef and pork. It is my personal preference That I don't eat pork so I'm glad they told me this. There are no breadcrumbs in it for those of you guys that are gluten-free. I had a pleasant lunch experience . Stopped there on our way to LA for lunch and i decided to take the new calzone item on the menu. I asked for feta and mozzarella cheese , and fillings of jalapeños , garlic , tomatoes, onions and mushroom . They also topped it with some grated Parmesan . It came out pretty good ! Yummy dough and fresh ingredients did the trick for me . The one thing - the dough is light and can't hold all the ingredients , so you will likely need a fork and knife . Recommended ! read more

I keep trying them again and again, and the biggest thing is the inconsistency, or almost always consistently disappointing in some manner. I travel the LA/Sac route on an almost weekly basis so I've stopped in often, and there's just almost always something that's not right, and whoever does their ordering is penny pinching to a major degree, they're always out of something. This time they're out of coke bottles, before that they were out of salad containers, before that they weirdly couldn't do the ranch topping (but could give me a container of ranch, idk, that was an issue for a while actually). Peppers and cheese are also regularly out. They also consistently burn the pizza, and doubt they clean the oven often, my pizza tonight had paper stuck to it, and a bunch of burnt stuff stuck on the bottom. Yum. I get it's definitely not a gluten free establishment but it's helpful if they at least occasionally clean the oven. Then there's issues the venue has no real control over, but Pieology has no contact or customer feedback option, didn't even email me my receipt (and the guy through away my physical receipt). I've had some good experiences here for sure, but also a lot of bad ones. So I guess buyer beware. read more

I stopped here to rest on my drive home from a very long work meeting on a Friday evening around dinner time---the place was packed with weary and hungry travelers, and the wait for food was long (they appeared to only have three people working behind the counter). Service was friendly. I ordered a pizza and a side salad. The pizza was cooked perfectly. The salad was okay, but the lettuce had several pieces that were brown and decaying. The dining area really needed some TLC as customers had not done a good job cleaning up after themselves. In all, this place really needed a few more employees working at the time I was there. I would have added a star if I didn't have decomposing lettuce in my salad..which probably would have been caught if they weren't so overworked. read more

Often Tejon Ranch is the place we stop when driving between Southern and Northern CA. This pieology is our go to but on this last visit, we tried the XL (16") pizza. They missed toppings around 3" from the edge of the pizza. So you're really only eating a standard size pizza and the rest is a 3" crust. It's Almost as though they do this to save inventory. (Minus 1 star) They also charged $1 for ranch. They've always been super nice and never charged us before and for them to stand firm for ranch... well... this is a pet peeve. I've been to Pieology many times before. As with most chains, you know what to expect. Normally. Not here. We waited at the counter for several minutes with no help or even a word from the staff. It was at least five minutes before we ordered, with no word from the staff as we waited. The line was building up when an employee working on online orders called to the back for help. One employee came out and spent several minutes getting a single dough ball flat...despite having a machine that does it for him. He then dropped it. Two other employees came out but looked frazzled. In fact, they started to argue among themselves, not sure where each should be stationed. I don't know if this was an issue with management not giving them directions or if the employees were incompetent. I suspect it was both. Food was okay. It's a chain and you know what to expect. Love a make your own! This Pieology was tucked in next to the Tejon Outlets. Quick service, fresh and satisfying. I went with a margarita pizza and added bell peppers and extra parm. Could have been a little crispier, but I did appreciate that they offer a true thin individual size pizza. Decent sauce and not too greasy. One of my favorite make your own pizza places. Strong 2 and a half stars for the pizza, everything else was a 4, it all averaged down to a 3. Pieology is my favorite out of all build your own pizza places. This one in particular was....well there's plenty parking, the service was good, it was clean in the dining area and the bathroom looked presentable (it smelled, but it's a bathroom). The only real complaint and probably the most major and most important complaint I have for this location is that the oven they're using needs to be cleaned. It seems to have not been cleaned in a while, but it's definitely time. My pizza had so much black on the bottom of the crust and all over my hands, like it was staining my hands. Great spot to stop for food on the way to (or from) LA. For a pizza place, it serves solid tasty pies. Thin crispy crust, decent red sauce and good selection of toppings. For roadside fast food, it far exceeded our expectations... Honestly might be the highest quality fast food spot we've been to on the road. Service was friendly and attentive. The place looks and feels like any other fast food joint, but the bathrooms were clean which is yet another reason it's a great rest stop. read more

We stopped here on our way back from Los Angeles. We've been to other pieologys and we love pizza, so figured why not. Place was clean, there were two workers and they were moving. Place didn't look too busy but it did take a while to get our orders made and given to us. We did order a few pizzas but we held up the line longer than I would have liked. The food itself though was great. We even tried their new feta pesto bread, it was really good. Where is that at the ear after coming back from our Los Angeles trip. We always seem to stop in affinity to where this restaurant is located but has everything there is to visit. The location please associate for nine and try one of their gluten-free pizzas. We were asked a question if there was a pack of analogy for the reasoning of ordering a gluten-free pizza by the associate, what kind of cotton at Bard. And then one of our pieces with me, but without the barbecue, not on it so they had to re-remake it. But all in all good physical night. I'm sure we came down to it if we had gotten gas at locations to be considered a part of the list. some pretty neat Walmart throughout the location posted. Stopped by with my wife on our way home from Anaheim last night, we were hungry and pizza sounded good. The guy working the counter was very friendly and got our pizzas made for us quickly and accurately. The cook on the pizzas was very good and we both really enjoyed it. They were very generous with the portions and whatever choices you decide to put on your pie. We chose the thick crust and it was on par. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I have been coming here throughout the years and they are a place that I get a certain craving for. They always have very streamlined quality - it never waivers very far. Occasionally the wait time can be long but it depends on traffic + staffing. The original thin crust was always my go-to but most recently (on 9/30) I tried the Deep Dish. I honestly didn't like it NEARLY as much as the original crust. It's not that it was "bad" or anything awful but it was hard from the start and wasn't really edible from the first centimeter of crust down. Shame because I love me some deep dish pizza!! I was expecting a doughy lovely bite but it felt more like biting into a bread brick. Could've been a bad batch but next time I'm sticking with what I know! We wanted to try the after bake BBQ sauce but didn't end up getting because we were outside for a moment and the lovely lady inside ran our food out to us. No complaints there- she's wonderful and I really appreciated that kind of extra effort! I can't place her name but she was one of the team leads there that evening.
