One of our favorite places to dine on seafood with beautiful water views. So on Friday evening we made a reservation for Pier 22 because I wanted soft shelled crab and my wife wanted her seafood cobb salad. We were sat immediately and we decided to dine inside because of a brewing storm. My soft shelled crab sandwich with homemade chips looked delicious and the portion was a nice size. It was also piping hot. My nephew had a cheeseburger which looked delicious and that was also a nice size. But my wife's seafood cobb salad wasn't like it use to be. This is her favorite dish and the only thing she orders. We've been here about 10 times and it's the only thing she's ever wanted because the first time it hooked her. But this visit she noticed that there was a considerable difference. This order she noticed that less seafood on it but the cost of the salad increased significantly. The manager "Peyton" came over and I showed her the difference from pictures I took on previous visits for my post. She apologized and returned back shortly with extra crab meat. I have been going to Pier 22 since it was Twin Dolphin Grill over 25 years ago. I will NEVER go there again. I could stand the high prices, great location and view, WONDERFUL STAFF. They decided to change menu, totally understand it is trying times, although the pea risotto is DISGUSTING, could live with that. New manager is ........................pathetic. The view, the food, the service... wow! Such a nice experience on our first visit to Sunday brunch. We arrived upon them opening so we got dibs for our seats right near the water. Chilly morning so the sun felt wonderful. There was also a large table with a firepit center, ill have to remember that one next time we have friends visit! Mimosas and breakfast or we could choose from the lunch menu too. We tried one of each...both were a hit! Our server was a doll, so helpful and friendly. She really knew what she was doing. We were down visiting with family and they took us to Pier 22. They go there often and said the food is great and it did not disappoint! I had the Wasabi Tuna as recommended by our server, Kirby, who did a wonderful job with recommendations and waiting on us. My sister is Gluten Free and she was very knowledgeable on the menu and helping her pick something out. The Tuna was amazing as well. The prickly pear mule was refreshing and delicious! Grew up here in Bradenton, but had not been here in many years. We were a large party served by only one waitress. She had a little bit of an attitude and was handling the group by herself and was probably the first mistake. Not enough foresight to bring carafes of coffee for the group who ordered it to avoid her being asked multiple times for coffee, but she finally did figure it out. I ordered a cup of New England clam chowder that was typical and had no wow factor and left me unimpressed. It was followed up with an order of shrimp and grits that arrived lukewarm at best with only four small shrimp on a plate of grits. It looked like the grits were placed there with an ice cream scoop and were sticky as if they had been pre-prepared then they tried to re-warm them. Plenty of sauce that did not have a texture of a freshly made product along with a bland flavor. Can't believe the lack of quality in this dish. It needs to be improved or removed from the menu. I will never order that one again if we ever return. The party size was very patient and did not have a demanding attitude towards the waitress just your typical requests from a large party being served by one waitress. read more

We went there for dinner. The view was great, the food was ok. It was a little chill so I had a bowl of NE clam chowder and the jambalaya. My companies had house salad, spinach salad, fresh catch black grouper, fresh catch shrimp, and jail island salmon. The chowder was slightly salty and the jambalaya was salty though with plenty seafood. You've to have a magnifying glasses to find the black grouper. The shrimp was over grilled and tough. I accidentally left my credit card after dinner; the restaurant very kindly kept it safe for me to pick up the day after. Great service! read more

This restaurant caught my eye because it looked like a must do in Bradenton, and it was. So, there is limited parking up front, valet parking, or you can do parking at the marina for free for 2 hours. I went with a group for brunch and really enjoyed it. Bread was wonderful, hot and fresh with a savoury butter. Everyone made great choices, and the portions are on the larger size, prices are not. You can sit outside right next to the water, or inside with a water view. Service was above average with drinks being refilled without asking and the food came out quickly and hot. The balsamic chips were just ok, this was probably the lowest food choice. Waffles were great. A very relaxing place to just gather with friends or family and just chat it out. We got to Pier 22 early, around 4:30pm. We were able to get a table on the patio right next to the water. The service is great! From the hostess, to the server, to the busboys and other staff. Food is very good! Their happy hour specials offer good choices: Monte Cristo sliders, poutine, calamari, grouper/artichoke dip, chicken tenders, mussels... All at very reasonable prices. Dinner prices are very reasonable AND they offer Sushi! The sunset here was amazing. We also strolled along and "window shopped" for yachts lol I highly recommend Pier 22! read more

I love Pier 22. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating and the view outside on the water is beautiful. I absolutely love food. The tuna dinner is my favorite, but I love the grouper special that they offer on Fridays. The service is good and I never seem to have an issue getting a reservation. I recently hosted my daughter's bridal shower at Pier 22 and while the venue itself was beautiful, I was extremely disappointed with the treatment we received from the hostess staff Alycia. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was helpful at the beginning, until she realized that we were decorating for our event and not the event planner for someone else. She was rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming, which really put a damper on such a special occasion. We expected much better hospitality, especially for an event as important as a bridal shower. Thankfully the rest of our guests still tried to enjoy themselves, but the initial experience left a very negative impression. Not only that once sending an email to the appropriate people about her, the way things were handled was very inappropriate also, with nothing but excuses. I was very dissatisfied. Sit outside totally worth it!!! Our family of 5 went here for me and my wife's anniversary. The food was amazing. We had calamari appetizer as well as the braised ribs so yummy. For dinner we had osso buco, fish and chips, crab cakes, lemon chicken and bbq chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious. Went to Pier 22 for dinner last night. My meal was uncomplicated: Sea scallops, sticky rice, and cream corn. The corn was absolutely delicious. The Chef had added some seasoning and slightly thickened the sauce. Fabulous. Now for the real issue. The scallops which I love because of their distinct flavor were flavorless. They also were somewhat tough. Not that usual melt in your mouth of a caramelized scallop. I know precisely what the problem was. The scallops were overcooked or were not fresh. They were covered with a strange glaze to disguise the problem. Even the sticky rice was simply dull. There was no seasoning in it. No, nothing creative added to excite the palate. My recommendation: if you find yourself at Pier 22, order the cream corn. read more

We arrived without reservations, and were lucky to be seated at a table for 4. Our server was very friendly and took our drink orders quickly while we reviewed the menu. I had forgotten how large the menu is, so there really is something for everyone. I settled on the crab cakes, which I hadn't tried before. They came with corn risotto and vegetables. The crab cakes were tasty and I loved the risotto. The vegetables were cold, so I ended up not eating them, but they were plentiful. We had a reservation for lunch. The hostesses seemed clueless about where to seat us. After taking their suggestion for the indoor patio where it was supposed to be warmer than inside the restaurant, we returned to the inside because it was colder and very loud on the enclosed patio. We were eventually seated at an indoor table for lunch where the plate for my setting was dirty with food still visible on it. Our waiter came in about 5 minutes and then got us water. He then disappeared for 15 minutes and was nowhere to be seen. At that point we decided to leave, because the service on every level was horrible. Thank you to the staff and manager at Pier 22, one morning while boating it was about to storm really bad we saw lots of lighting so we docked at Pier 22 and then we realized they didn't open for an hour and half. We had 4 adults with us and 7 kids. They easily could have said no please come back, instead they offered us drinks, fresh bread warm from the oven and a table. Made reservations one month in advance for Thanksgiving dinner for myself and a handicap friend, a table by the window overlooking the water. upon arriving 30 early we were told we would have to wait out the 30 minutes to geta window table or be seated in the back by the employee entrance, we told that would be fine we would wait for our window table. When they call us to be seated it was in the very back at the employee entrance, tried to talk to 2 different managers, got a all of B.S from both, so we usually go the Pier 22 restaurant 10 to 12 time a year, but today service and lake of communication was horrible. read more

Atmosphere 5/5 Appetizers: 3/5 Calamari & Balsamic Chips arrived The appetizers were tasty but it was average not the expectation of the price tag and quality expectations of a place like this. Entrées ordered were 3/5 Scampi Florentine 3/5 stars And Special Elk steaks, Sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes with the fried leaks as I requested The seasoning & preparation of the elk was so good the chef tonight deserved 5 stars for that item. The mashed potatoes are very average; as is the sautéed spinach. Not exceptional sides etc. as some have eluded to. Desert time we ordered ; baked freshly as indicated by our waitress Apple cobbler 3/5 stars Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding a bit dry 2/5 stars Service Waitress 2/5 Service suffered the most; if I'm not keeping our water glasses full two forgetting to bring the silverware or checking on us after each course arrived. I have been enjoying the uniqueness of this restaurant since i moved to the central gulf coast. Great views, water ambiance, from scratch kitchen and diverse menu all make it a "must dine" experience. I recently attended the Wine dinner - with an Oregon based winery...( ive been to one other wine pairing and a Four Roses bourbon pairing dinner - both excellent ) ... this one not so much unfortunately. My group thought both the wines and paired foods were not nearly as incredible as in past pairings...We were actually disappointed. The Pad Thai was delicious, dessert tasty...the salad was lackluster and wines...none we would buy to take home. We love Greg ( Executive chef and class act ) and his team so will be back but for the price most likely in the dining area ...not in a pairing for awhile. ( Great happy hours menu's by the way ) ...and just so you know... You would be missing out if you don't check out their creative - something for everyone menu and excellent cocktails inside or outside overlooking the river. read more
