The best and only Mother's Day brunch in the entire Manatee County and Sarasota I highly recommend the service was accommodating even though we run a waitlist. They called us the minute there was availability., We are long time devoted to the Ritz Carlton for the buffet for those special Mother's Day and Father's Day and they abruptly stopped it this year so thank you for pier 22 staying consistent, and going above and beyond sitting on the water it was beautiful as always even though it's getting hotter in the summer. There should be more AC devices for the elderly people sitting outside as indoors are limited. Other than that it's beautiful scenery and the simple fact that the brunch buffet is worth every single dollar. I have been going to Pier 22 since it was Twin Dolphin Grill over 25 years ago. I will NEVER go there again. I could stand the high prices, great location and view, WONDERFUL STAFF. They decided to change menu, totally understand it is trying times, although the pea risotto is DISGUSTING, could live with that. New manager is ........................pathetic. DO NOT waste your money, there are SO MANY PLACES in Bradenton and Sarasota that are a better deal and better food read more

Let me start with the fact we have dined at Pier 22 quite a few times and we're hoping this last visit was an anomaly. Several things were good, but several bad. We got seated right away for dinner with friends, waitress came and took our drink order right away. I asked about the sushi but waitress said she wouldn't get sushi there. And I was hoping for some good sushi. Drinks were okay. Appetizers arrived quickly and that was probably the bright spot of the evening. Raw oysters were large, meatballs tasty. Waitress never told us any specials so we had to ask if there were any. When our meals came it was a disappointment. Crab cakes were okay, risotto was barely warm. A friend got Scampi Florentine and said it was most definitely not Florentine. Pretty much every dish was plain, nothing special. I ordered a second drink early but for about 15-20 minutes, we never saw the waitress. Then when she passed by, I had to ask again. We were pretty much done before second drink came. We were quite ready to leave. We have had good experiences here and 5 stars every time. This was pushing it to get three. For the two of us, not the experience we expected, definitely not $175's worth. Not sure we'll be back anytime soon. read more

Grew up here in Bradenton, but had not been here in many years. We were a large party served by only one waitress. She had a little bit of an attitude and was handling the group by herself and was probably the first mistake. Not enough foresight to bring carafes of coffee for the group who ordered it to avoid her being asked multiple times for coffee, but she finally did figure it out. I ordered a cup of New England clam chowder that was typical and had no wow factor and left me unimpressed. It was followed up with an order of shrimp and grits that arrived lukewarm at best with only four small shrimp on a plate of grits. It looked like the grits were placed there with an ice cream scoop and were sticky as if they had been pre-prepared then they tried to re-warm them. Plenty of sauce that did not have a texture of a freshly made product along with a bland flavor. Can't believe the lack of quality in this dish. It needs to be improved or removed from the menu. I will never order that one again if we ever return. The party size was very patient and did not have a demanding attitude towards the waitress just your typical requests from a large party being served by one waitress. read more

This restaurant caught my eye because it looked like a must do in Bradenton, and it was. So, there is limited parking up front, valet parking, or you can do parking at the marina for free for 2 hours. I went with a group for brunch and really enjoyed it. Bread was wonderful, hot and fresh with a savoury butter. Everyone made great choices, and the portions are on the larger size, prices are not. You can sit outside right next to the water, or inside with a water view. Service was above average with drinks being refilled without asking and the food came out quickly and hot. The balsamic chips were just ok, this was probably the lowest food choice. Waffles were great. A very relaxing place to just gather with friends or family and just chat it out. We arrived without reservations, and were lucky to be seated at a table for 4. Our server was very friendly and took our drink orders quickly while we reviewed the menu. I had forgotten how large the menu is, so there really is something for everyone. I settled on the crab cakes, which I hadn't tried before. They came with corn risotto and vegetables. The crab cakes were tasty and I loved the risotto. The vegetables were cold, so I ended up not eating them, but they were plentiful. Service was good our entire stay and also the hostess and manager checked in on us. So happy to see things return to our old normal. read more

Always a pleasure. Melissa was our wait staff and she was perfect. The ambiance is always wonderful whether outside or in, deck side or bar, you can't miss. The decor is beautiful. The views of the water are stunning. We had escargot for starters and sushi it was superb. My hubs had Twin Lobster tails and I had the Pork Osubuco delish. This is a nice spot on the water, but we were seated in the sun when there were tons of seats in the shade. Hostess could be a little more friendly. We had a couple of happy hour drinks and the jalapeño poppers which were very good. Server was great. They had a few gluten-free options, including some typical sushi rolls and the jalapeño poppers. I love Pier 22. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating and the view outside on the water is beautiful. I absolutely love food. The tuna dinner is my favorite, but I love the grouper special that they offer on Fridays. The service is good and I never seem to have an issue getting a reservation. We were down visiting with family and they took us to Pier 22. They go there often and said the food is great and it did not disappoint! I had the Wasabi Tuna as recommended by our server, Kirby, who did a wonderful job with recommendations and waiting on us. My sister is Gluten Free and she was very knowledgeable on the menu and helping her pick something out. The Tuna was amazing as well. The prickly pear mule was refreshing and delicious! Sit outside totally worth it!!! Our family of 5 went here for me and my wife's anniversary. The food was amazing. We had calamari appetizer as well as the braised ribs so yummy. For dinner we had osso buco, fish and chips, crab cakes, lemon chicken and bbq chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious. Went to Pier 22 for dinner last night. My meal was uncomplicated: Sea scallops, sticky rice, and cream corn. The corn was absolutely delicious. The Chef had added some seasoning and slightly thickened the sauce. Fabulous. Now for the real issue. The scallops which I love because of their distinct flavor were flavorless. They also were somewhat tough. Not that usual melt in your mouth of a caramelized scallop. I know precisely what the problem was. The scallops were overcooked or were not fresh. They were covered with a strange glaze to disguise the problem. Even the sticky rice was simply dull. There was no seasoning in it. No, nothing creative added to excite the palate. My recommendation: if you find yourself at Pier 22, order the cream corn. read more

Hostess according to our waitress dropped the ball when she didn't bring us any silverware. As our waitress hadn't noticed and we needed some when appetizers arrived; we located a setup station and self served. Atmosphere 5/5 Appetizers: 3/5 Calamari & Balsamic Chips arrived The appetizers were tasty but it was average not the expectation of the price tag and quality expectations of a place like this. Entrées ordered were 3/5 Scampi Florentine 3/5 stars And Special Elk steaks, Sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes with the fried leaks as I requested The seasoning & preparation of the elk was so good the chef tonight deserved 5 stars for that item. The mashed potatoes are very average; as is the sautéed spinach. Not exceptional sides etc. as some have eluded to. Desert time we ordered ; baked freshly as indicated by our waitress Apple cobbler 3/5 stars Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding a bit dry 2/5 stars Service Waitress 2/5 Service suffered the most; if I'm not keeping our water glasses full two forgetting to bring the silverware or checking on us after each course arrived. We were left alone for most of the evening aside from clearing plates at end. Cappuccino machine is still broken. Friends warned it might be still from 2 weeks ago. read more

Thank you to the staff and manager at Pier 22, one morning while boating it was about to storm really bad we saw lots of lighting so we docked at Pier 22 and then we realized they didn't open for an hour and half. We had 4 adults with us and 7 kids. They easily could have said no please come back, instead they offered us drinks, fresh bread warm from the oven and a table. They were so sweet and kind we will be back! They are so kid friendly and the best views on the Manatee River. read more

I have been enjoying the uniqueness of this restaurant since i moved to the central gulf coast. Great views, water ambiance, from scratch kitchen and diverse menu all make it a "must dine" experience. I recently attended the Wine dinner - with an Oregon based winery...( ive been to one other wine pairing and a Four Roses bourbon pairing dinner - both excellent ) ... this one not so much unfortunately. My group thought both the wines and paired foods were not nearly as incredible as in past pairings...We were actually disappointed. The Pad Thai was delicious, dessert tasty...the salad was lackluster and wines...none we would buy to take home. We love Greg ( Executive chef and class act ) and his team so will be back but for the price most likely in the dining area ...not in a pairing for awhile. ( Great happy hours menu's by the way ) ...and just so you know... You would be missing out if you don't check out their creative - something for everyone menu and excellent cocktails inside or outside overlooking the river. read more
