As per usual Pier 41 nails it every single time for the freshest most delicious seafood with phenomenal pricing. Josh behind the counter gives impressive service & ensures the whole restaurant runs smoothly. We love the whole vibe here!!

We went for the happy hour oyster specials and sat at the bar. The service was super friendly and prompt, the atmosphere relaxed, and the oysters delicious

Great food. Great Music! Bar service or table top. Small venue big flavor. We had the hush puppies and grouper bites that were delicious. Supper was the oyster and crab Po Boy. The Cajon remoulade sauce was heat and sweet! Ask for more! Pecan Pie cheesecake for dessert.

This place has went downhill and fast. If you can't handle the Biden inflation as other restaurants in Mount Pleasant just close it down!! $24 bucks for a lobster roll on white bread. Please stop eating here so we can get a new place that will care for some short period of time.

    The incorrect advertising in question

The good: the food was VERY good. Oysters were fresh, well and prepared. The fish and chips was some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Crab dip was on point. All was very good. The bad: dinner for 5 adults and 2 kids took 90 minutes. They were understaffed and slow. Additionally, when you've got 48 oysters split between 5 adults, bring more than 4 packages of crackers, one small cocktail sauce and one half portion of horseradish. Clearly we're sharing. The Ugly: When your sign next to the building is advertising $1 oysters until 6PM (and on the internet) , it better be until 6. Not 5, with a "oh, our sign is wrong"

    Our first 2 dozen!!

Pier 41 is hidden gem!! It's a little out of the regular tourist area, but they have $1 raw oysters from 3-5 pm! If you're anywhere near Mt Pleasant and love oysters... you must go. It's a quaint little place with a great vibe. The staff is friendly and upbeat. But the stars of the show are the oysters! My husband and I were looking for some raw oysters that wouldn't break the bank. Most of the touristy places were $3 and up each for oysters. So when we saw Pier 41's special happy hour on Facebook, we decided to go. Since they were so cheap, we expected tiny little oysters. But these were huge and tender. They were so fresh and silky smooth!! We had 4 dozen! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The restaurant is pretty small. Be sure to make your reservations! The food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. I had conversations with people at the bar and with folks sitting at tables. The price point was a bit lower than comparable restaurants. The staff was friendly and quick. I would eat here again.

We registered beforehand online for the Beginners open play from 2 to 4 on Monday. We were disappointed to find out that nobody else had registered to play on Monday. We were happy to have Tracy (an employee) come join us for a few games. We had an absolute beginner with us and two of us that have been playing for a good amount of time. So we really needed a 4th player! So thanks for joining us Tracy! This place is way more than just a pickleball business. There are two bars inside and many self-pour electronic beer dispensers. They serve food, although I didn't get to see the menu because they were hidden behind the bar and none were on display anywhere else. They have arcade games lined up along the middle of the venue. I saw a bunch of kids upstairs on the 2nd level playing video games on a TV monitor. Speaking of TVs, there are many upstairs to watch sports/shows. The upstairs is filled with tables and chairs to eat & hang-out. I hear they have some fun game nights for families on Friday nights. I heard this place has been open for two years. The staff was very friendly. They have 2 dartboards inside located in the back corner, and a smaller wall with more automated beer pour stations. I wish we could've checked out the Margarita Monday play! They have open play from 6 to 10 AM during the week, we're gonna go back and check that out. it was about a 40 minute drive from Charleston to this location for us. We will definitely be back to play while I'm in town! Try this place out for air conditioned play during the hot & humid summer!

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

The evening we were here there was an actual singer/guitar/bouzouki/ banjo player who really is Irish! Fantastic performance and the sound system was way above what you might expect in a small establishment like this. Impressive. The ambience was friendly and festive, and though many were clearly there for socializing and not as attentive in listening to the music as we were, it did not take away from our enjoyment of it! The crowd did eventually get engaged enough with several songs to dance and sing along. As expected the Guinness was tasty and it was well poured, but the surprise was the food was really quite good. A bit of an Irish pub theme with "bangers and mash" ( grilled sausages over mashed potatoes) and the chicken curry were quite tasty and filling at a fair price. One of the wait staff was sick so the staff was a bit harried and behind when the unexpectedly large crowd arrived for the music, but it all got sorted out and they remained friendly and attentive through it all. I personally love the menu, but there are few vegetarian options, and not much in the way of salads and such. It is early yet, and as the kitchen matures and the work gets out to the locals I expect the menus will develop more options in this area. But we will definitely plan a return trip here!

We had an enchanting dinner at Lola Rose and already are planning our next visit. The staff was excellent, every person there was cheerful, knowledgeable and polite. Our waiter Colby was a gem and could not have been more attentive and adorable! The food was fantastic. The dishes have strong bold flavors, everything we had was well seasoned and clearly created with care and attention. The fluffy cheese is not to be missed, I'd order it by the gallon if I could. The patatas bravas are crispy with a smoky smooth tomato sauce that is killer. My group did a bunch of different apps and split everything, tapas style, which was a lot of fun. The pizza had a great crust and very tasty toppings. The portions are a really generous size for a restaurant of this caliber and the dishes are reasonably priced. The decor is elegant without feeling pretentious - perfect for a special fancy night out or a simple night out with friends. Even the bathroom is cute! In the summer I highly recommend getting one of the frosé drinks -it's so rare to get a frozen drink that actually has complex and balanced flavors and isn't just sweet frozen ice. Lola Rose features a comforting and approachable menu of big, seasonal salads, wood-fired pizzas, housemade pastas, local seafood and traditional mains. At the bar, classic favorites are served alongside creative spritzes and cocktails, local beer, and a wine list that focuses on Mediterranean and coastal American winemakers. Plus Lola Rose is the second concept from James Beard award-nominated chef Kevin Johnson and his wife Susan, who opened The Grocery in downtown Charleston in 2011. We have had the pleasure of seeing him in action and he is always approachable to the guests. We have visited Lola Rose several times and enjoyed many menu items. The rosemary focaccia is always a must order. Other great starters are the arancini, Sicilian meatballs, and our favorite is the roasted beets. Another great option to start is with a pizza, they have 9 different pizzas to choose from. Then an appropriate entree would be a pasta dish, we like the rigatoni verde and the bucatini. Note their pastas are all made in house. On our most recent visit we ordered the seasonal Softshell Crab special, and it was impressive and more delicious then expected. We appreciate that they had this item during the softie season, and this tops our list. Don't forget dessert as the budino and limencello cake are delicious sweet endings. Lola Rose makes going to downtown Charleston un-necessary, and it's location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. The service and the menu make it worth the visit, and we would recommend to all.
