I loved this place. The food has been consistently great. They have been very stingy on their catering, as we (myself and my colleagues) have catered from them for my office lunches in the past. However, it was always worth it because the food was so tasty! One or two times a week for the past three years we have been going there for lunch or dinner by my job. I just returned from maternity leave and was craving Pier 76. Much to my dismay, on my very last bite of my pasta I found a roach!! They comped our lunch, which was a given because I never would have paid anyway. Very disappointed that we will never be going here again. read more

I work right near this restaurant so I usually go for lunch when I don't want to venture too far. The food is really good and I've never had a problem with that. But talk about over priced. I bought a grilled chicken Caesar wrap. It was 10 bucks and had no sides at all just three olives and a slice of pepper. The had almost no chicken and a ton of lettuce. Came here with my boyfriend about a month ago and, having just gotten off the ferry, were looking for places to eat. I stopped in to use the bathroom before checking the menu and when I came out my boyfriend was smoking in front with another guy. I went outside to wait for him to finish his casual discussion about the restaurants around, since we were just visiting, when suddenly a guy comes out of the bar. I thought he was just coming for a smoke and a chat as well when he starts saying things like "Oh the food here is so awful," and being extremely sarcastic. Turns out he is one of the "owners" and he goes off on the guy my boyfriend was talking to for trying to push business away, when the guy was certainly not doing that at all. It was merely just a quick conversation and a few recommendations besides Pier 76 but it escalated into this "owner" calling the guy an asshole among other things. Finally we told him that we were highly considering eating there but were thankful that he had made our decision to find somewhere else to grab a bite after his horrible lack of professionalism and utter disrespect for his customers. He then proceeded to inform us that it was "our loss for missing out on the best Italian food in New York" and that "he didn't need our money." The sheer ego of this man amazed me. With an attitude like that towards his customers I don't think he'll have anything to brag about when his business is closed. He needs to rethink his priorities and realize that maybe he is the one turning the business away. read more

We had a party of five adults and one five month old and they were so accommodating for dinner. They took time to set up the table so the baby would be comfortable in her stroller. It was a really nice surprise given that there is a younger crowd and a bit of a bar vibe. The pizza is is absolutely the best. The host and server were excellent. We recommend this place, it is a North Shore treasure!! They make it easy to stay local! read more

I was going to say it resembled Joe and Pat's pepperoni and thinness, but I read one of the reviews where Paul C. mentioned that this was owned by the same family. We came here a few years ago and just like Joe and Pat's, I totally amped at first sight. Not because of the taste, but because of the pepperoni they use. The pep that curls up after baking in the hot oven and preserves the oil as it lays inside the perfectly crispy pepperoni cup. I know, it's greasy gross, but it somehow brings me back to my youth. I remember even before this visit, my visit to J&P's, what stuck out was the pies were floating around or above $20 a pie. That was pretty expensive. I do not remember having sticker shock after getting the bill at Pier 76, so I couldn't say it was expensive. The pie was good, but not as great as the pizzeria's that came before them on the island. This is hands down my favorite pizza on the island. My go-to pie was the Royal Pier UNTIL I came in recently with some out of town guests who wanted to try the arugula pie- something I never really would have ordered on my own, but am glad to have experienced! The arugula pie is perfectly balanced- salty with the shaved reggiano, sweet, topped with a healthy drizzle of reduced balsamic. A unique combination that makes perfect sense. I've told MANY people about this place and have made converts out of dozens of patrons- it's great pizza. The storefront is unassuming and the atmosphere comfortable. We got the ferry over and randomly walked into this place for a drink. The girl behind the bar was super friendly and was telling us about the real Jersey Shore! The smell of fresh pizza drifted into the bar from the open kitchen next door and we had to try the pizza. It was INCREDIBLE! If you want cold pizza and you want to wait 2 hours for it and spend a fortune order from pier 76 or joe and pats same owners who dont give a crap about their customers! I have used joe and pats for years until i ordered for delivery and it took 2 hours then asked for a refund And it never went back on my card had to call manager and fight with him for my money and then he tells me try pier 76 its closer to you and it wont take as long tried there and it still took 2 hours when it is 10 mintues away had to canel that 30 dollar order as well for a pizza a small salad and a coke unbelievably over priced and nasty as hell!! Do not order from pier 76 or joe and pats rip off! And horrible customer service! read more

This week I had the pleasure to try Pier 76 in Staten Island, and man was I impressed. If you like thin crust I think this place takes the cake. The sauce is delicious, and everything about the place was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone. The buffalo cauliflower was excellent and their regular pizza was like no other. read more

Very casual, comfortable setting with a neighborhood feel. Food is excellent! Thin crust pizza with endless topping possibilities. We had 18 people in our party with 2 special diet restrictions and were easily accommodated and service was great. Buffalo cauliflower is so delicious and small salads are more than adequate size. Don't order take out, I paid $30 for food that had to throw in the garbage. The girl on the phone was too busy talking to her boyfriend to be concerned with my order, or she was drunk, but definitely not there mentally. I just chalk it up to experience and never order from that place again. There are many more more places to eat on Staten Island than thus dump. Best for takeout. Their pizza by the slice trumps their whole pies. For $4 you can get a slice of fried calamari pizza and be on your way. Do what I do, call when you get off the ferry and they'll have the slice ready for you when you get there. The service isn't great and I definitely wouldn't recommend staying to eat. But the calamari pizza deserves 4 stars. read more

I'm writing this on a day of charity, one of my favorite days of the year- Dine out for hunger and this restaurant was not on the list. $3 for a 20 oz. coke and they can't even participate in a charity event that more than 100 restaurants on Staten Island partake in. I am not surprised as I have witnessed the owner yell, abuse and mock the homeless that walk past Pier 76. I wish that i could give this place 5 stars because the quality of the pizza and food is top notch- one of my favorite spots on Staten Island. It is an absolute shame that it is run so poorly. I've been in there when the skinny owner has been yelling at his employees in front of customers. That bothered me so much I opted for delivery and I asked the driver if they get the delivery charge and he said "no, I don't know where the goes". It only gets worse- I told him that I thought I had more cash and asked if I could tip on the card and he said "yes but they take 20% of the tip". If this isn't a clear violation of laborer's rights, I don't know what is. I don't know if I should call the Department of Labor, the IRS or OSHA something needs to be done to this tyrant. As a business owner myself I find it disturbing that someone could treat other human beings that way let alone their employees. I hate seeing good places get run into the ground by mean spirited, greedy animals. I say animal because have you seen the restrooms there? Gross. read more

From their pizza, to entrees, appetizers to drinks I don't have one complaint about anything from this restaurant. Pier 76 has made a regular customer out of me. Came to Staten Island from out of town and decided to come here for lunch the other day with my family because a friend recommended it. Ordered the lobster crab ravioli and italian chicken pasta which were both very good. Got 2 pizza pies for the table that seemed a bit under cooked but overall good taste. Same ownership as Joe and Pats but their "thin sliced"pizza pales in comparison. Not really crispy; too much cheese, bland, undercooked. Ive only gone through the take-out side but even there, the disinterested service is off-putting. The pizza is also slightly overpriced. They need to recruit some of the Joe and Pat's pisanos to make a decent pie over here. Drive a ways down the terrace and try Crispy's-much better pizza. read more

I had the same exact experience that Jay. D had I mean the same very exact experience and i wish i could of got the girls name while i picked up my order but i called later to speak with the manager because i apparently interrupted her while she was eating on the bar and gave me an attitude for bothering her while she was trying to eat and then amazingly went back to eat while talking with her friends at the bar and forgot my order that I was waiting on and some kind Spanish gentlemen came from the back and barely knew how to speak english and asked me if everything was ok and I told him my order should of been up by now i would think and he went to the back and told me it was sitting there wating for the waitress to give to me which did not happen of course anyway I called to speak with the manager about this horrible experience and was not surprised who answered (her) and I asked for the manager and she told me he is only there certain days can i please ask what is the problem? so i told her and she to my amazement laughed! the place is not bad to go to but not worth the horrible service AT ALL, I don't know if it is family runned business or they are just hiring friends they like I don't know but it is going to hurt them later on down the line, that's for sure! read more
