Steppe's has been on our list for a year and we live close by. Finally we made it to the restaurant last Sunday. Overall - Great customer service and food. The young guy who served us was great - he asked for allergy and special diet needs and proceeded to make recommendations. My husband ordered a chicken parm (the sauce is on the sweeter side than he likes, other than that, he loved his food). He also ordered an 8" pizza pie which they were nice to let him order half with pepperoni and half with cheese. The meals were nice and the restaurant is quiet throughout when we were there in the afternoon. As expected, only the people who come by seem to be folks who live in Urby. The restaurant is nice and clean. I just can't wait until they fix up the waterfront at Stapleton to attract more people over here. read more

Very bland food and incredibly overpriced. Pizza is okay, but not for how much they charge for it. Had a mushroom pasta that tasted like nothing. Been here three times with groups of friends, never been wowed ever. Yummy, Seppe one of the first restaurants in the Urby (and still going strong), they must be doing something right. I've been here a dozen times, everything I've tried here has been delicious. They have an open kitchen concept and the chef enjoys interacting with the clients, giving a very homey vibe. I usually sit at the bar where the bartenders (most of the time friendly) make great drinks, my favorite tequila martinis but I've heard their old fashions are pretty good. We recently came with a group of four, close to closing and they were still accommodating even when we sent back pasta that wasn't cooked fully. They quickly fixed the issue with a smile and with no hesitation. We had the golden beets salad (a must try) , calamari (nice and big), the shrimp and pasta as well as the wild mushroom pasta, everything had a great taste. This place is a hidden gem! My husband were looking for a new spot to try for date night in the area. Given the fact that there's not a lot of places to eat in this area and we have exhausted a lot of the other options we came here. I love the fact it's a small menu when there's to many options you kind of get overwhelmed on what to order. The server Raphael was very attentive and gave us enough time to order wasn't pushy which I appreciate i hate feeling rushed. I ordered a gin and tonic hands down one of the best I have in a while in this area . My husband had a figura old fashion it was delicious and made to perfection the ice cube has their name on it which was cool! The price of things I found to be just fine it's quality food you get what you pay for honestly. Appetizers: Meatball sliders are 3 mini meatballs with cheese and basil really good . Great flavor and just what you would want to start your meal . Artichoke hearts are fried and come with a dipping sauce that has a kick. Tasted fresh and also very delicious. We decided to get a 12inch tray (tray is square slices) pizza called the Fresca it was sauce ,cheese, arugula with prosciutto in a wood oven!! What I enjoyed about the pizza is that it wasn't very thick how traditional squares are very doughy. It wasn't thin crust but it wasn't very thick just some of the best pizza I have had in a while and in this area. I then had ricotta cheesecake with pistachio crust it wasn't bad just not for my taste of what I'm use to for cheesecake. I was so blown away by the flavor of the food and the service I had to tell Louie ( I believe he's the owner or manager) about the experience. He was also a very nice guy ! My little family and I came on Memorial Day around 2pm. We were seated right away. Noticed that only one server, but she was doing her thing. She made sure all the tables were good. Most of the tables were families that stopped by for food after seeing the fleets at urby. Pretty small inside, they did have an outdoor area in front, but it was closed (i think due to the rain). Pull apart bread---omgosh! It's a must order. So good--wish it was a bigger portion, but it was sooo good! Def something I'd get every time. We tried the aunt honey/cheese and pesto pie. Lordts. No complaints! The pizza here is A1! I'm coming back to try different pies for sure. read more

The restaurant is very cozy and service was amazing. What we ordered: 18inch pizza ($22): 1/2 aunt honey: THIS IS THE BEST!!! the aunt honey had the combination of the beat flavors and the meat was so good. You have to try to to understand. The Jimmys is very spicy and I was not too crazy about it. If you like spicy this is for you. Meatball ($15): this place has very good meatballs and actually taste like it is homemade. First came to Seppe three years ago and food was pretty good just not once wow'ed by the service. After a few times of the not so warm response every time we went in to eat or pick-up, we resorted to ordering out based on convenience. The pizza is alright but if you're going for higher end, Campania on the other end has more flavor and seems like they want our business whereas ordering from Seppe through Toast online (only to avoid in-person) has more surcharges. Anyhow, ordered last week and after a shabby food order, I called to share the feedback on food and was told by the host that the manager was busy (and it sound a bit noisy so I figured okay). It's now been almost a week and I never got a call back so I think that's really it with us ordering from here again. Sucks options are more limited in the north but not running to give them business. read more

Square pizza at its finest! It's a square pizza with a light texture. Could have used a lil more firmness on the undercarriage to hold the slice up a little better. Other than that, the sauce is tasty yet not pungent. The cheese was just enough to not overpower the lightness of the dough. The hot honey is a nice added flavor. I'm interested in eating more of their pies since they all sound delicious, or you can create your own. As for the wings, I wasn't greatly impressed. Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad. Just not what I believe a "wing" should embody. They are seasoned and baked. Nice taste and flavor, but I'm more of a crispy fried naked wing kinda guy. The baked chocolate chip cookie is the finale you will need for a great tasting pie. Nothing like a warm baked cookie coming out hot and moist to hit your tongue. They also have a unique cocktail menu with some creative concoctions. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are a bit on the higher end, but you will have a great tasting experience. There are a lot of places you can get pretty good pizza on Staten Island, and many of them vary in the dining experience. Seppe feels sort of like a pizza bistro in atmosphere and they have a limited menu compared with other Italian or pizza restaurants but what they do they do pretty well. They highlight their cocktail offerings while others may not. The funghi pizza here with truffle oil is more of a unique flavor for Staten Island and that's what usually I opt for, but the red sauce pizza is also pretty good. The round pie tends to have a thicker crust, with the rectangular having more pizza than crust. This place tends to be on the heavier side with its cheese application so heads up in case you prefer a saucier slice. Also, as a result, the pizza is slightly saltier than others. Regarding service, every time I've visited I've found the service to be quick. Overall pleasant dining (and take out) experience. read more
