Happy Hour! My husband was celebrating an accomplishment so we decided to got to The Butchery for their Happy Hour. What a treat! They have their own parking lot so finding a spot is not an issue. We were welcomed in and decided to sit in the bar area to the right of the entrance. Julia and JD were tending bar and taking care of the patrons in that area. My husband chose the Proverb Cabernet, and I selected the Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio from the wine list for happy hour. Once we had our beverages we ordered some food. I had the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were tender and chilled just right. The cocktail sauce had a wonderful bite from the horseradish. He had the Bison Sliders. The sliders had Swiss cheese, tomato, pickle and Sriracha aioli sauce. He had one and was full. We took the rest home. While we were enjoying our selections, my husband noticed Julia making a Smoked Manhattan for another patron. The process was so interesting he decided to order one. She was kind enough to let us film her explanation of the drink and the sparks and flame that came with presentation. As he was enjoying his beverage, JD came by to check on us and asked if we were celebrating anything that evening. My husband explained his accomplishment and the amount of work that had gone into it. JD surprised us by bringing out a crème brûlée to share for the occasion. The ambiance and the service were AMAZING! All the food was top tier except for one thing, and the drinks were also fun and tasty. Highly recommend! Also tons of parking Drinks: Smoked old fashioned: told it was tasty and came with a show! Raspberry lemon drop and strawberry lemon drop: consensus was the strawberry was better but both were great Appetizers: Crab Goat Cheese & Artichoke Dip: so good! But seasonal I believe Mexican corn bread: highly recommend Seasonal salad: apples and peaches were amazing Entrees: Ribeye: not my favorite. Very thin. Very dry. No flavor. Inedible. Bacon wrapped filet - biting. No flavor. If not for $5 béarnaise, it was not worth the $. Lava cake snd ice cream - awful. How do you mess up vanilla ice cream? Serve freezer burnt ice cream with a dry lava cake ed that's not fresh. Yuck. Will not return. read more

We really wanted to love our experience here, but unfortunately the food didn't feel on par with the pricing. After our meal, both my partner and I ended up getting sick, which was disappointing. That said, the waitstaff was warm and attentive, and everyone we interacted with was very kind. This place has a lot of potential, and with some improvements in the kitchen, it could be a much stronger dining experience. I wish I could give an update with another 5 star review, but this year's anniversary dinner at The Butchery was lackluster for us. Service was slow, which we didn't necessarily mind because we were there to enjoy our time, but it also just felt a bit scattered and inefficient. I will admit it is our fault for not mentioning that we were celebrating a special evening, but I think after how amazing last year was, we just assumed that our experience would be nice regardless of whether they knew it was our anniversary. I will say the salad we ordered was delicious, it was the chef's seasonal salad. And the complimentary cornbread is soo yummy! But this time the steak skewers just weren't that great and my chicken piccata that wow'ed me last year was a tad overcooked and just not as delicious. The crème brûlée was yummy. Our server Andrew was amazing and had incredible recommendations. We started with the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the steak and pineapple skewers. For our entrees I had the wagyu strip and my husband had the bison ribeye and we both had the au gratin potatoes. Since we were celebrating our anniversary they gave us a complimentary crème brûlée. They have an impressive whiskey list and a few n/a cocktail options. Overall this was an excellent experience and if we're ever back in Denver we will be back to visit! read more

Went during happy hour and sat in the bar area. Cool ambience. There was one waitress/bar tender for the bar area, which made things a little slow. The bacon wrapped dates were delicious the flat bread was pretty undercooked and the presentation was poor. We waited 30+ min for the steak sliders. When we got them they were completely raw in the middle and inedible. Our waitress comped the sliders. Overall, not the best experience. read more

The good steakhouses have good steaks. The Butchery has very good steaks. What sets this apart are all the other parts of the meal - salads, sides. Those are all very good starting with the chili cornbread. Service and food flow could be better. Things came out slowly. Don't get in a section where they is a big party. We felt the waiter gave more attention to the big party. He should have had an assistant with a table of 10. Imagine how long that takes to get drinks out to all then, then appetizers, salads and the entrees. Then we sat there for 15 minutes waiting for the bill. I've got kind of a different take on this review. I've never actually been to The Butchery, haven't tasted the food or sat in the dining room, but it's already at the top of my list for the next time I'm in Broomfield. Why? Because this is how you win at business. I'm a real estate broker in Austin, Texas, and needed a closing gift for a client moving to Broomfield. I thought a gift card to a great local spot would be perfect. After a quick Google search, I landed on 4 or 5 top restaurants. All looked good, but none of them made it easy to buy a gift card or even had someone available to call during the day. Except The Butchery. So, I gave them a ring, and Karen, who I'm guessing is the owner or manager, picked up. I explained what I needed, and without hesitation she said, "Of course, I'll send you a personalized gift card. In fact, I'm heading to the post office right now, I can drop it in the mail for you." That right there is next-level service. Real, hands-on customer care feels rare these days, and Karen nailed it. Because of that experience alone, The Butchery will be my first stop the next time I'm in town. And honestly, I'd bet good money I'll get to meet Karen in person while I'm there. Excellent! Had such a wonderful experience. Food was amazing, Jonny was great. She checked in the perfect amount and was engaged w good conversation. We did the 5280 restaurant week and the portions were solid, price was right, and everything was delicious. Filet was cooked perfectly and so tender. I'm a bit of a Manhattan (the drink) snob and they did a great job. Jalapeño corn bread was so good. Cheesecake for dessert hit the spot. I'll def be back! I've had my eye on this place for a long time and finally took myself to dinner there last night. It was phenomenal!!!! From the drinks to the service to the corn bread and dinner. Steak and shrimp in a lobster cream sauce completely knocked me off my socks. I grabbed a seat at the bar and the bartenders were just perfect along with the atmosphere. My wife and I went to this establishment last night and it was horrible. Our server I think his name was John was not concerned about us because there were only two of us. My impression is he was worried about the larger tables. I will say my filet was good but the augratin potatoes were not good. My wife ordered a new york strip and there was so much fat and tough white veins in meat she could not eat it. For a 57.00 steak we got ripped off. I thought this was an up scale restaurant however it is not. We live close by and we will not return. I grew up here and I would recommend Mickey's Top Sirlon instead of this place. the service here was fast and friendly and the general ambiance of the whole dining room was clean and presentable. The food however was less than representable. The lamb chop dinner was served in 3 small medallion style portions and it was approximately 75% bone, fat and gristle with very little meat. the vegetables were small and undercooked. We have gone to the Butchery multiple times, the last was on our 41st anniversary on March 8th . . . I want to love this place, but hate to say that it has slipped quite a bit. We have always ordered the Tallow Candle & Cheese Board, but this go around was a huge dissapointment - the cheese was cut in rectangles and difficult to get on bread, there was probably less than a table spoon of fig jam, only a small amount of meats and the rest was nuts and dried small fruits like grapes . . . covered less than half of the serving plate. I ordered the center cut NY Strip - although it was cooked to perfection, nice marbling but way too much gristle for a center cut. Absolutely not the restaurant's fault, but we were seated next to a family with two pre-teen girls that spent the entire time of our dinner outside next to our window practicing cheerleading moves while the three adults were talking way too loudly for a quiet restaurant and ignoring their children - distracting and irritating . . . On a good note, their smoked Old Fashioned if possible is even better than I remembered. read more

Had a really nice meal here celebrating my brother's birthday. There were 6 of us and we all really enjoyed what we ordered. The service was great. Joni was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The ambiance was casual and welcoming. Unfortunately I didn't get many pics of the food because we were having such a good time, but the appetizers were all delicious. The complimentary cornbread and butter was super good and such a nice touch to start the meal. I had the bison ribeye and I thought it was pretty good, but not the best steak I've ever had. It needed more seasoning in my opinion and the cut was a little on the chewier side in some spots. Overall though, a good steakhouse for the price and a fun dining experience. Great cocktails. We had a 80th Birthday get together here last night. It has been a long time since I have encountered this level of service and accommodation from a restaurant. Overall this was a good steak dinner with very good service. We parked without a problem and they were ready for us at the specified reservation time. To start, I had one of the specials for the night, the Maryland Crab Cake. Maybe it's because I grew up eating Maryland crab cakes in and around Maryland but this was not a Maryland crab cake. It was more filler then crab and the filler overwhelmed the meat. I do not recommend ordering this if you know what a real Maryland crab cake is or even if you don't. You'll never try one again. For my next course, I split a "lobster" bisque with a dinner mate. I think they call this dish lobster bisque because maybe they waved a lobster over the pot because there wasn't any lobster meat in it or flavor for that matter. It was bisque, period. Not a fan obviously. My entree, the filet and scallops, arrived on time and cooked at the correct temperature as ordered. After the two seafood fails to start the meal I was not holding up hope for the scallops; however, they were fresh and cooked perfectly! This dish was delicious and spot on which made me feel better about the high price for the meal. Those who accompanied me were happy with their food and that made the night a success. Also, our server was very attentive and personable and knew the menu like the back of his hand. I'm terrible at remembering names so, very sorry I can't call him out here specifically but he was great. It's hard to miss The Butchery as past the handful of bright green trees, the big bold letters "BUTCHERY" appear. Pulling into the spacious parking lot, you're already greeted by the warmth of the woody exterior and the freshness of the plants, grass, and trees surrounding the restaurant. The mellowness made me excited for what was to come once you have entered the place. Upon entering, we heard the bustling of the remaining customers and the busyness of the employees, paired with some fun 80s music. As our party arrived a little on the latter end of the evening, we were shown our seats quite instantly. It wasn't a full-house so I felt like we were given undivided attention. My party and I were browsing the menu while enjoying the rustic, yet classy, ambiance. Even though the menu was just one page, it felt like you had a plethora of dishes to choose from. Paired with some Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot, our party enjoyed: - Maryland Style Crab Cakes - There wasn't a strong crab flavor, but the crab cakes were soft and melted in your mouth. I did wish it was a tad crispier on the outside to add an extra umph. The seasoning was good itself but if you wanted some spice, spreading the chipotle aioli should do the trick. - Crab, Goat Cheese, & Artichoke Dip - This also didn't have a strong crab flavor, but I didn't get much of the goat cheese and artichoke flavor as well. It might be because the melted cheese crust on top of the dip overpowered the flavor a bit. The sourdough bread that came with the dip was slightly on the harder end. I wished the bread was toasted more so you get that warmth combined with some creamy dip. - Ahi Tuna Nachos - I had the liberty of getting the first taste and the nachos had a nice balance of freshness, saltiness, and crispiness. Although it stated that there was wasabi aioli, the kick was barely there. If it had been spicier, you would've had all four flavor profiles exploding in your mouth. - Carrot Cake - It was definitely moist and yummy, though a tad on the sweeter end and didn't have a strong spice flavor to it. It had also been paired with some caramel, whipped cream, and a slight sugar frosting glaze so that made the overall dish a lot sweeter. - Chocolate Lava Cake - It came with some raspberry sauce on top that cut the sweetness of the cake and made it a lot more balanced. This was definitely a highlight. - Tiramisu cake - I felt that the cake didn't have much of the coffee note; however, it was very light and was a nice contrast to the other two heavier cakes. - Au Gratin Potatoes - I've never had potatoes like this before, but the first taste was bliss to my tastebuds. The combination of creamy cheesiness with the potatoes was definitely a hit. - Mushroom Duxelle Encrusted Filet, cooked Medium - It was essentially a filet topped with a mushroom mixture. The mushroom mixture eventually got a bit grainy for my liking-I'm glad only the top of the Filet was encrusted with the mixture, otherwise I would've disposed of the rest of it. I also felt like the Filet was missing some of the rich meatiness you'd normally get from steak-maybe it's just because I grabbed my Filet cooked Medium. The Filet and Au Gratin Potatoes was definitely a heavy dish so be prepared for that. If you prefer a more balanced entrée dish, I would suggest getting some vegetables on the side or ordering a salad to cut the heaviness. Overall, my experience was great. The atmosphere was wonderful, the place was clean, the food came quickly and was satisfactory, and most importantly, the company was superb. We were checked in by our waitress several times, ensuring our expectations were met, our water cups were filled, and that we didn't require any additional assistance. I would say if you're in the area looking for a solid steak place, give The Butchery a visit. You won't be disappointed! read more

Went here for my fiancés birthday and the food was amazing! I had the filet trio which was to die for! The mashed potatoes and asparagus were cooked perfectly along with the medium rare steak.
