I went to the bar that was on the side of the pier first, but the bartender, Nicole, was rude as hell so I left and went to the inside bar. Orianny was really nice inside and attentive. On vacay with my grandkids we had lunch at the pier. The overlook view on the deck above the Atlantic was great! Service was friendly and good. I had a lobster roll with chips and drawn butter market price and New England clam chowda. Since it was so cool the chowder was hot and really hit the spot! Ordered a rum bucket and asked to switch the coconut rum with the pineapple rum due to the fact I am allergic to coconut and was told that bar tender couldn't substitute. So I had to switch for a different bucket and for 20 dollars for a rum bucket the customer should be able to substitute one rum for another. I know other bars will gladly do it. read more

We went to this place for atmosphere and scenery to sit down and eat. Definitely was a stunning view but the food was lack luster. We ordered the fish n chips. We figured we would play it safe by going with that. Unfortunately this place couldn't get that done right. First off the batter was really no batter. I literally could see the fish flesh like it was fried with no batter. You can definitely see in the picture i took. Then the fries were trash. Just a bunch of over cooked super crunchy tiny broken fries and just a few good fries mixed in to cover up the bad ones. Cooks were being slick by taking the fish and laying it over the heinous fries. My biggest disappointment is when you lay a hot steaming fish filet over my fries. Automatically turns my fries soggy. The actual haddock was fresh so thats why i gave 2 stars. Definitely not worth $27. The batter was straight garbage. They definitely got cooks not chefs. Might go here for drinks but not food. We did not arrive to eat, but quickly found a seat at the bar and were immediately greeted. This is the place to go for large mix cocktails. I highly recommend the deep blue Sea rum bucket. Yikes! My mom bought lobster tacos ($20) and when they came out one taco had two pieces of lobster that were the size of quarters. The other two had very small amounts as well. We've been to the restaurant for a few years now and we love getting the tacos, but management and quality has just gone downhill. My mother spoke to the waiter politely and came to find out he was the manager, he went back with the tacos and came back and said "he had to fight with the kitchen to get more lobster" which I don't really understand because you're the manager but okay. This bar at the end of the Old Orchard Beach pier has wonderful views and a great dive bar feel. The bathrooms are gross-only one of three stalls was working. The food isn't great and it's pricey (normal seafood pricey), but if you must eat here, the crab Rangoon appetizer and lobster salad are good. You get plenty of lobster, it wasn't chewy, and the salad was fresh. I have had bad luck with the fried seafood. It comes out soggy and appears to have been frozen. I was there at night and there was a guy working with a beard with another girl a bigger girl. It was the outside bar. Her mouth was horrible. She was very rude I could not believe they would let somebody work behind the bar with a mouth like that. It was horrible I have been there numerous times and never got treated the way I did. If you're looking for the place to get insulted and scammed, this is the place to be. We had a party of 5 and on the menu it says if we have a party of 6 or more we need to pay their gratitude. They basically tried to put the 18% gratitude in there to sneak it in when we had terrible service and when we did the math it was actually 20%. The math didn't make any sense. When we asked for the manager he was an idiot and called us simple people when we asked for the check to get fixed. Server came up to us three times the entire night. Don't bother. You're just paying tourist prices to sit on a pier. Rubbery overpriced fried food. Microwaved mac n cheese for the kids from those blue styrofoam containers (you know the one, the EZ kind), and I'm pretty sure the haddock from my sandwich gravely wronged the cook somehow while alive because it was left in the fryer several extra minutes just to make sure it suffered in death. At least my jaw got a good workout due to the chewiness, and my wife was pretty sure the chicken in her Caesar wrap was the precooked kind they sell right next to the chicken nuggets in the grocery store. We came here on July 1st 2023, and our servers were extremely slow. The food was stale, cold (and wrong, they didn't even give me what I ordered) so imagine my shock when the bill came out as $448 because they chose to combine our bill with several other groups of family members, tax it all on top of it and include a $70 "automatic" tip because the bill was so huge when they charged us all in that group rather than each family group because it was "easier" that way. They failed to let us know about the enormous tip and tax ahead of time. I ended up paying over $200 of the bill for a junk Pepsi and the worst lobster roll and service I've ever had. Terrible, and dishonest servers. What they did simply wasn't necessary and is a very scammy way to earn tips. Avoid at ALL costs. read more

My wife and I just got married and she's changing her name so for the moment she has a temporary license, we were met by an incredibly rude bartender who wouldn't take that as her form of ID. To her credit she did go check with the manager who also said they can't take it. When I asked if I could talk to her to clarify why they couldn't take that ID the bartender said "you can talk to her but she's probably gonna flip out" We went and spoke with her and fortunately she didn't "flip out" but she was even more rude than the bartender. I love the scenery and how you can see the water through the floor. The food appeared to be fresh but average for the area and overpriced which would be fine except for the next part. The view of one of the kitchen staff picking his nose while looking me in the eye was fun. The other guy wiping sweat off his forehead with his gloves was charming too while he also wolfed down food putting those gloves hands to his mouth. The waiter was really nice and attentive. We just had some drinks here because, well, anyone non-touristy knows better than to order food right off the pier. So, please note this review is simply based on our beverage experience at the bar. The prices for drinks were enough to make us cringe-and after standing at the end of the bar for 10 minutes waiting to order a drink, the bartender way oversold us. I wanted a Rum Punch, which is on display on each side of the bar. The bartender apparently told my boyfriend that there was an option for a bucket or a bowl, which, he felt as if she gave the impression that the bowl was smaller. $18 later-I got a small fishbowl of punch, which, I couldn't taste ANY alcohol out of. Come for the atmosphere-it's nice to be at the end of the pier and watch the gulls, fish, and beach traffic, but that's the ONLY reason we would return. read more

The food was all fried- scallops and a platter. I mean how bad could it be? It was terrible. It tasted rubbery not fresh and like it was precooked and nuked before being served. We stayed to have drinks and at the end asked for two separate tabs. On paid cash the other paid card. The two people paying were out on the dock when the waiter returned and asked why a tip wasn't left..... rudely. Meanwhile I had no idea what was happening and the bill with the credit card had not yet been completed. He was a bit premature on the assumption he got no tip. Wandered onto the pier for lunch on a sunny Wednesday in May, looking for anything open near the motel we'd just checked into. (most restaurants and pubs are still closed this time of year it seems, but we'd only stopped into Old Orchard Beach for a night on the way home from a road trip anyway, so no biggie. There was one family seated already at the Pier out of at least a dozen tables. It was too windy in most spots, so we took a table next to them that was next to the kareoke stage, with less of a breeze. In the actual summer, the purpose of going here is to sit in the sun on the ocean in a sort of party atmosphere. Friendly, standard service. Typical 'boardwalk' food/nothing special, nothing terrible. My Caesar salad was a bit too garlicky, but not bad, served on a cardboard plate. My mozza sticks seemed out of a box and probably were, but okay. My partner's roast beef & cheddar wrap was fine, with side of potato chips. I'd go back here for drinks if ever stopped into the beach area again, and probably get a fries and onion rings if I wanted a snack, but wouldn't go back for the food itself. I actually came down with quite a case of heart burn about an hour after leaving here, which I never get, but can't say for sure it was the food that caused it or something else. read more

Nastiest place I ever ate. Warning seafood platter was 30 bucks, long john silvers is better than this place. The cooks window is the gathering place for the staff, we watched two waitpersons eat off our plate, also the window cook wiping his nose bare handed, then putting fries and garnish on the plate while the two waitresses played with each others hair. The haddock was so small it was overcooked and definitely frozen the funniest we heard when asked why the shrimp was so tiny was that's main shrimp, I mean I've only seen shrimp that small in a can. YUK!!! The scallops weren't breaded and cooked so long the looked like cut up hot dogs. Note we each ordered one my girl and I and my sister and her husband, so it wasn't one platter it was both. First, if you have read my other reviews... I am VERY fussy. If you take 100% of my money, I will demand 100% of what you are selling. Call yourself a Clam Shack ? You better have great fried clams. I am a terrific cook and would rather stay home for my own food than have your staff screw up my night. So when it comes to Pier House Pub, they are not a restaurant, so don't expect one or review them as such. They are selling a dive bar experience and they do it very well. If you fall for the rip off girly drink "extravaganza" promotions, than you deserved the watered down, bottom shelf, extra ice + fruit juice in a souvenir cup. However, if you navigate properly, this place will do just fine. Dive bar beverage ? Bottled beer folks, everyone should know that. Food ? Order very little and when you do, keep it simple. Onion rings, well done cheeseburger, chicken wings etc. No one ever orders seafood in a dive bar, so don't do it here despite the temptation and ocean address. Remember that you are probably in your flip flops and shorts, with an incredible ocean view, listening to an awesome live band and working on a beer buzz. Dirty floors, dirty bathroom and hungover staff ? They got that, but they are super friendly and work HARD, which saves me every time. Want a drink in a dive bar ? Go to the bar, don't wait around for a server...ain't gonna happen. I went with my girlfriend and the performer there kept making comments about us being an interracial couple and about her skin color. When I asked the bartender if we could review him so he couldn't come back they told me they tell people if they don't like it they should leave because he's been there for so long. I gave it 5 stars before & I'll give it 5 stars again! We spent a LOT more time at The Pier this weekend compared to last year (we had MUCH better weather this time around) and we had a great time! Just like before, we each got the Fisherman's Plate for dinner & it was delicious. They give you a big piece of fish & the perfect amount of fish, clams & scallops with your choice of two sides. Get the coleslaw, it's great! Their steamers are SO good! They give you a really good amount, considering it's an appetizer, with warm clam broth and melted butter for dipping. Yum! They make a really delicious Sex on the Beach & when I say their Rum Bucket is the most delicious alcoholic beverage I have ever had, I'm not kidding! It's pretty big, two people can absolutely share it without a problem. The live music is great, the DJ outside is great, nothing was happening in the night club upstairs the night we were there but we walked by the next night and it looked like it was a great time. We also grabbed some lunch the next day at the Hurricane Raw Bar, which is also on the pier and in connection with the Pier Patio Pub (same menu/kitchen), and had a delicious all-seafood lunch. The oyster/little neck sampler was great, we had the steamers again (yum!), and we each got large lobster rolls. Their lobster rolls have shredded lobster meat which isn't my preference but it was good nonetheless. And the roll it comes on was really thick, but it's toasted and buttery and really good. This place is great during the day for lunch, great for dinner, and great for a night out! I 100% without a doubt recommend the Pier Patio Pub to anyone & everyone going to Old Orchard Beach! read more
