Used to love coming to this place waaay back in the day. Food was never great, but drinks were decent, the location was wonderful and we could park right there and pass the afternoon listening to live music and looking out at the sea. Now food is still just Ok, and view still just as lovely, but parking is prohibited, big muscly bartender was super rude, and our beers were warm. The only reason I'm giving even 2 stars is our server Jill was super sweet. Was hoping for a trip down memory lane but that lane is forever closed. read more

It's Old Orchard Beach, Pay for parking is a part of life. There is a patio 100 yards away from the waves. Food is good for the price, but basics like ketchup were not available and draft beer was too warm to finish. Too bad the bartender was a jackass and sad it's gone downhill in a place where it could be fun. read more

The staff was stressed out because they became busy , on a holiday , go figure they just looked at us and said it is going to be a while, instead of taking a simple drink order . This a down to earth beach bar & restaurant! I luv the atmosphere inside & if you want to sink your feet into some beach sand then they have a good amount of outside seating. The servers and bartenders were polite & prompt. They have a decent selection of draft & bottled beers as well as a full bar. My wife & daughter got some specialty drinks that were tasty but also were a bit weak. Me and my daughter's boyfriend both got draft beers so we were good to go. Food wise we ordered some buffalo wings which were good not great however the Franks Buffalo dipping sauce was awesome for the wings. Nice touch! We also shared some crinkle fries & a garlic shrimp cheese quesadilla all of which was very good. My advice....try the fries with the Franks Buffalo dipping sauce rather than using ketchup. Although we didn't order pizza we saw more than a few that other people ordered & they looked pretty good to us. I think I'll order The Godfather pizza the next time. I'd like to give 4 stars but need to go a few more times, so I give 3-1/2 stars. A good place to enjoy part of your day. read more

I love this place! Very Dog friendly, great drinks, music and pizza! It's right on the beach and if you're in OOB, you should put it on your list of places to hang for happy hour. By forewarned though, there is no parking on the premises, unless you're on a bike. read more

This place only passes for a bar to drink at. I would not recommend eating here as its not very good. The highlights of this bar are obvious. Never had a weaker drink. Ordered a double Jack and Coke and literally got a one second pour. Got the wings and all three of us thought they tasted like fish sticks. We had a group of 7 and ordered 5 mudslides. The bartender came out and yelled at us because we ordered too many mudslides. Then he left a beer on our table as if to apologize for yelling at us for ordering too many mudslides. The waitress justified it by saying "he's an ass". First off, I never go to a place expecting to write a review. Sometimes, you're blown away by how good it is. Other times, you are just so hugely disappointed that you feel like you need to warn others. We specifically went to Pirates Patio to hear a certain musician perform, get some cold drinks after a day on the beach, and some food because we were very hungry. There's no parking there, so if you decide to go, you'll need to park in the public lot which is a short walk away. Not that big of a deal. We were greeted by a young man named Liam who was friendly, got an umbrella to shield us from the sun, and later checked on us to make sure our server had come over. More people at Pirate's Patio should have his work ethic! Our server, Marieli, took our drink orders after what we felt was a fairly long wait. The drinks took even longer and could not be considered "cold", but rather "cool." The outside of our plastic cups were not clean. My drink was finished before she came back to take our food order. (There were other servers and the place didn't seem that busy.) She came over again after about 45 minutes and asked how everything was and we told her that we were still waiting on our food. She asked us to remind her what we had ordered and told us that the kitchen was a little busy. However during that time, people who came in after us had gotten their food and had even paid their tab and left, so we knew she had forgotten to put our order in. About 15 minutes later (an hour after we had ordered), our food arrived. Although hot, the quality was exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. Pre-breaded deep fried frozen fish, etc....While we ate, we expected to listen to the music that we specifically went there to hear. The musician, came back from a half-hour break, played about three songs, said she was taking another break, then packed up her equipment 30 minutes before she was supposed to be finished playing. We the had to wait a while for Marieli to come back so we could get our check and leave. After we asked for it, we must have waited another 15 or 20 minutes and she never came back. We were so annoyed we felt like just walking out. We decided to go inside to look for her and she was just inside talking to another employee. We again asked for our check which hadn't even been rung up yet. We paid it and reluctantly gave her way more of a tip than she deserved, as this was some of the worst service we have ever experienced. We left there feeling disrespected, and disappointed. This experience wouldn't have been as bad if she had made any effort to take care of us or if she accepted some responsibility rather than blaming the kitchen, but she just didn't seem to care at all. read more

Hands down favorite place in oob for beers and cocktails, there's nothing like sitting outside with your feet in the sand watching there live bands having drinks brought to you. Food was overpriced for what it is. Wait staff seemed to forget we were there, and the outside patio tables are far to small to eat at. We had the haddock sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, kids grilled cheese, and kids chicken fingers and two beers. $6.50 a beer! The haddock was clearly frozen probably from a box. The chicken was thigh meat(yet still $10). The kids had fries which were so spiced they couldn't eat them. GREAT location right on the beach! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Was here for Sam Adam's happy hour, great beer prices.

If you want to be near the beach while having a beer, this is your spot. Doesn't get much closer to the sand than this spot. Shaped like a boat, it's hard to miss this spot. They have pub fair and inexpensive beers. I had a good experience, and I can imagine with enough of those cheap beers and a little more sunshine one could have a great time at Pirates Patio. I'm not saying I won't go back but I'm not rushing back. It's a fun place to know about if you're cruising OOB with some friends and want a cheap beer. Our waitress was especially nice and accommodating and worth a mention here. I'll try to visit once more during the peak of summer and see if they can't convince me to tag on another star or two. read more

Unique place to get a drink or a bite to eat. Great view from the outdoor seating area. The inside is on the smaller side but the outdoor area makes it spacious. The restaurant is in the shape of old wooden ship. They had live music playing in the outdoor seating area. The music volume was good not overwhelming so you can still have a conversation. I had the Maine shrimp with clam cakes. It was good and a good amount. It more of a bar food kinda place so don't come expecting gourmet food. Great vibe here you'll have a great time!! read more

Pirates patio is off the beatin path at Old Orchard Beach. This is a jewel in the rough! We stopped by to get a drink. Mike the bartender made me a fruity rum drink. It was not his first rodeo. It tasted amazing! We decided to get pizza. This pizza was one of the best pizza's i have ever had. It is thin pizza, not greasy, perfect amount of cheese, the sauce is like your grandmother's recipe. I highly recommend this place. It was my first time here. I will definitely be back!! read more

Pirates patio has always been one of my fave places in oob, I do love a dive bar, and this is it. Not fancy, but live music and cheap frozen margaritas in the afternoon is all I could ask for in a summer vacation. Okay, one review here and I would have to say it could possibly be a friend? I only ask because I do not see ANY way this place could EVER have the best of anything.. The bar itself, when you walk in, what a dump, looks like someone just walked through with a sledgehammer and went postal.. You walk through to the patio, which is all sand (which could be very annoying) but it was fine for us.. There was some live music being played, always a bonus, and we got a table in the back... Our waitress came to us pretty quickly.. We were hungry too, thought some apps.. My Brother ordered a Dos Equis, nope we ran out.. OK I will have a Sam Adams, nope we ran out.. How about you tell me what you do have? Sam Adams light... Ok I will take that... Brother says.. I am starving, get me a nice order of some fresh steamers... Nope we are out, delivery didn't get here yet... HUH?? I could not help but laugh.. Delivery?? Ah, um, hello.. What is that blue thing behind us, with all the waves crashing on to the beach, with all those fishing boats out there? They certainly have to come along distance to get them to you... Anyway.. He was pissed and just said forget it, get my sam light.. I tried ordering the sam seasonal off their menu, you guessed it... nope we are out.. Coors light it is!! Well.. she comes back..
